  1. Update: Okay, I see what's going on. The buff only shows up when the fishing pole is out so the +100 isn't displayed either. That's a bit confusing given the other buffs show up on the Fishing menu whether the pole is out or not. But at least the buff is working.
  2. I'm not sure where the bug lies, but after acquiring the Fishing on a Full Tank Mastery one of two things is happening. 1) The +100 bonus is not applying. When I'm nourished the Fishing menu does not show my fishing skill going up 100 points. 2) The Fishing menu is bugged. The bonus is applying, but it's not showing up in the menu. Unfortunately fishing is such a new skill that I'm not adequately familiar with it to hazard an educated guess which is the problem. However, there is definitely a problem. The +20 bonuses for each Mastery level are displaying in the Fishing menu so that's good news at least.
  3. Trying the event again right now and still can't turn in fish I catch anywhere. The Peddler won't talk to me even though I had several fish in my inventory. I tried filleting a few of them to see if that's what they wanted and still no interaction. The Peddler will only take fish from the basket on the dock. = \ Also, and I don't know if this deliberate, but the Peddler has a female model and has been linked to a male voice. If that's a choice all good. Just wanted to mention it in case it's not deliberate / part of the event bug.
  4. Agreed. I don't want to have to park a character by a merchant in Cantha just so I can fish on my other characters. I'm really loving fishing and glad it's been added to all the zones, but all the zones need fishing vendors, not just a handful of them in Cantha.
  5. On this we can agree. I've seen many games try to "encourage" players to try different modes than they prefer to play by putting coveted rewards within the targeted mode and it blows up the developers' faces every single time. And yet developers keep doing it...
  6. You kinda make the OP's point. The devs have pervious experience with crafting this sort of content and have seen the results which led to multiple adjustments and nerfs. Why make the same "mistake" again with EoD? It would be one thing if it were an optional world boss like Leviathan. It's another for it be not just the endcap of the story, but the only route to getting the expansions featured mount.

  8. The options on the basket you interact with offer the choice to either carry a fish from the basket to the Peddler or provide aid by catching fish yourself. I like to fish so I chose the option to fish myself. Nothing happened, but I ran to the end of the dock anyway and cast my line figuring if I caught a fish an option would pop-up to give it to someone. Caught a dozen fish then remembered I was trying to do the event so ran back to the basket. No option to give my fish there. Ji-Cheol doesn't have a dialogue option. When I go to the peddler I'd delivered fish to using the "carry a fish" choice they don't talk to me either. Additionally if turn my character to face the area where the event is transpiring my framerate tanks. There is definitely something wrong there.
  9. Also, if I so much as look in the direction of the event my framerate tanks. Something is definitely very off about the event.

  11. Have to say I'm disappointed by ANet's decision. Sucked the sails out of my EoD enthusiasm quite quickly. Hasn't helped matters I've been booted from the server twice just trying to start the EoD storyline. Not an auspicious start to a new expansion.
  12. To anyone viewing this in the future the Mesmer builds still work as advertized. The Flamethrower Scrapper just took a hard nerf with EoD due to changes in Barrier generation.

I guess the Art Dept was so busy working on the Asian faces that they didn't see in the news how Chen Man got into a world of trouble in China for her Dior photos featuring only Chinese women with small eyes: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-59397737 While there are Asian men and women with small eyes (same for all other races) there are also Asian men and women with large eyes. Having the slider be capable of accommodating both small and large eye sizes would have been the smart decision. (And no, I've checked and the slider for the Asian faces at their largest is almost half the size of the largest eye setting for the other faces.)
  14. When I'm in a zone with weather effects such as just recently in Desert Highlands during the sandstorm or Bjora Marches during a snowstorm the Dark Monarch skin doesn't load properly. The horns, armor, saddle, and particle effects load, but the dragons skin doesn't.   15. Hopefully the floppiness will be rectified or at least significantly toned down. Till then I'll just leave it turned off.

I don't know if this is a bug, exploit, or "working as intended" but on the Winter's Day Jumping Puzzle when near the end with the stair-step white presents if someone jumps just as the presents are spawning the blue presents that form the "ledge" do not spawn. The result is either a) people fall as the expected ledge isn't there or b) they have to wait for the steps to respawn.
  17. I should add I have reported this before and gotten no response so I don't have my hopes up this time either. But maybe like repeating these Story missions perhaps if I report it enough times it'll eventually go through and I'll get some kind of reply.
  18. This has been going on for a few years and frankly it's turned me off doing the Story quests. Anytime I do one of the longer Story missions that has a cutscene at the end, like tonight with "Defend Fort Trinity", at the very end of the event the game client disconnects and I have to start the mission from scratch. This has been happening over and over and over for years and I'm just disgusted with wasting my time and effort doing these long, frequently tedious, Story missions only to be forced to do them again in order to progress. It's utterly stalled my progress with the Story to the point I have practically given up. I have Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, but I haven't complete either due to the constant frustration of the game client crashing. Am I utterly alone in this happening? Is it a known bug the developers can't resolve? Am I doomed to "Groundhog Day" my way through the Story missions? I'm sorry if this sounds like a rant, but I'm just really ticked off right now.
  19. If I may suggest a new back item the little shadow wings on the Mad Realm mounts would look amazing on players.
  20. I just hope the GW2 devs have paid attention to events in a certain other game that introduced flying later in its development and can manage to avoid making the same blunders. Given flying isn't available to everyone it should remain a convenience, but not one that gives flyers an overwhelming advantage. And to be clear I'm not saying they shouldn't make content that requires flying. What I am saying is that if they should decide to then they need to make accommodations for those players without flying mounts. (Perhaps through a free rental that only works in the designated area or some other temporary ability.)
  21. Probably a long shot, and probably been asked, but I can't find it so... Just wondering if there are plans to take some of the older backpack items and make them dye-able or will this just be something for new backpacks going forward? Items like the Scaled Dragon Wings or the Citadel Assault Pack would be much more appealing if they were dye-able. With the steady pace of newer dye-able backpacks coming out it really makes them feel quite dated.
  22. From time to time, and particularly during the Winter Veil jumping puzzle event, I see characters who have an open book floating next to them. I've tried to figure out which class this is or whether this is some special effect like Winter's Presence and have utterly failed. I'm hoping someone can help because it's driving me a bit crazy that I can't find an answer. Thank you!
  23. Can the mount rental person be switched from Raptor to Beetle next year? Or at least add a Beetle rental option? The Beetle isn't winning by a slim margin. To paraphrase a well-known quote from horse-racing: "Beetle first, the rest nowhere."
