  1. I dunno about that man. One guy I know who plays there has been playing power Tempest and nothing else for the past idk how many years. And he could probably f*ck any one of us in this thread up xD Gotta respect it
  2. most of SA, Slonder, Shax and his e-girlfriend... all way worse imo. We got straight Patrick Batemans playing this frickin game since 2012 but nothing will ever be done about it, and to be fair why do anything about it? Older players are used to it, new players don't quite get it yet to get frustrated (they might be but they gotta learn how to avoid AIDS parts of maps during AIDS matchups eventually), and it's really the only source of fun for all these "roaming" weirdos nowadays to try and kill eachother with their kitten d/p builds xD i've seen it happen
  3. yep I still miss old sneak gyro, the way it could be used inside zerg was funy as hell 😄
  4. except it kinda is? for how busted as a game mechanic stealth is, daredev (and deadeye too, dont get it twisted) sure as hell can get it easy as frick, by just slotting bound, pressing 5 and dodging... pressing 5 and 2 after it a few times is not that hard either xD and remember thieves will defend this because their class "needs stealth" or whatever, when you can see good S/D players being equally as unstoppable in any 1v1 scenario ... so what's the issue here? lots of stealth or lots of evades? or, God forbid, both?
  5. Yes SC/f usually. Sometimes I jump on double daggers, but then I switch off one with air to zephyr's boon, which almost plays like cheap willbender since I have one with air on my build I use deadeye relic (10% damage increase after using cantrip skill [which are 4 out of 5 skills usually])
  6. As of the time of writing... I still see atleast 10-25 Elementalists on the top dog servers of EU daily. (You know who you are) The numbers don't lie; why would there be such a big influx of elementalists of all variety if it wasn't for the class being super stacked and FOTM? (Or more like FOTY at this point) Why and how can be the terrorizing of the oppressed Ranger, Necro and Rev mains be overlooked by Anet? Is it class favoritism? One of the Devs plays Elementalist a lot, after all... Look, I don't know what the devs were smoking to get the game to its current state, and I'm not sure I want to know either, all I'm saying is that Elementalists should get brought down a notch to be on par with other roaming builds out there. Start with the obvious overperformer Power and Cele catalyst, (that elite specialization was a mistake) by changing stability from auras into something, anything, else. Then go to less known builds like FA Weaver and power Tempest so they can't have fun either. Oh yeah and IP ban anyone with at least 5 hours playtime on signet Cata. Oh, and also, nerf zerg support Tempest too, while you are at it, it's definitely not enough of a joke yet. ^^ These are harsh, but warranted, changes and if you do them I might just reconsider leaving the gamemode for good. Sincerely, Kraft Punk, head of the cheesy Rangers' civil union - SFR
  7. Interesting read, at this point I just want Anet to acknowledge that WvW exists, beyond the steam cloud of the kTrain I mean....
  8. When I run into someone who (I think) is cele I just quickly switch to cele signet cata build from PvP with hotkey and watch them suffer 😄
  9. Nah it's not a secret however obscure it might be^^ Fire traits: bottom, middle*, middle, *sometimes bottom for yolo power duels air traits: middle, middle, middle arcane traits: middle, bottom, middle** ** sometimes bottom depending on whether I use earth armor or arcane shield Weapons and armor are full marauder, on main I have it all ascended and with eagle runes. Celerity sigil on focus (important for setting up quick combos after CCs) and energy/cleansing on scepter depending on mood or enemi(es) All trinkets are cele except for Back which is zerker. I like to play Eles this way, since I'm a big sucker for that ~25% boon duration I get with this setup. (Also the other extra stats can come in clutch sometimes too) Skills are ether renewal, earth shield, arcane shield and lightning flash. Elite is Tornado always Earth shield can be swapped off if you don't like it, I love it and am honestly pretty good with it at this point so I couldn't imagine a build without it xD Lightning flash can be sometimes swapped off if you end up fighting warriors or some shït and end up needing 2 stunbreaks with stabi. So yeah there's a lot of flexibility to be had with the stats and the skills too, sigils and runes not so much. Usecase in a nutshell: engage with shield pull after porting into unsuspecting foe(s), after enemi(es) are pulled you can land Phoenix + convert fire aura + flame expulsion (by swapping to Air right after) pretty reliably. <---- This combo, the main one, can be naturally set up with Gale too, tornado too but a bit clunkier If enemy retaliates with a channeled block you can interrupt it with Gale (except if you get shot down by Jesse Pinkman) If enemy has stability, preemptive or reactive, you gotta kite while spamming flamestrike/Hurl/blindijg flash, or going to water and hitting them with the Trident from Minecraft. If all the CCs are not enough you can pretend to run and then about face while turning into a frickin tornado and knocking enemies away Storm from X-Men style : D (People NEVER chase with stability only escape with it. Keep this wisdom in mind.) Edit: holy smike I spent 25 mins writing this
  10. I run FA fire air/arcane core Ele a lot. It's a pretty good build, I can take on most foes except the most spammy D/P thieves or the most blatant cele players, but there is a lot of sheet going on, probably even more than with Weaver. Once you get good with Ele tho, the sky is the limit with your skill expression on this build : )
  11. Underworld kitten luck as always :'D
  12. Focus is if you wanna win (almost) every 1v1, daggers are if you want to gank people or quick burst then run away right after. Warhorn is just meh there, offhand dagger is better for support in large scale WvW, although I'm not sure anymore since the server I'm mostly playing for made it de-facto illegal to join squads as tempest xD
  13. PvP players when an e-spec specifically designed to be doing great in PvP is good in PvP
  14. I'd honestly have 0 problems with S/D if it wasn't for larcenous being unblockable being mildly annoying to fight against (also the daze bug but this hasn't been fixed for 11 years or so now)as a frickin core ele player I very rarely get hard owned by average joe thieves (well, it's in a WvW context but still applies) and the good ones that frag out on me i'm cool with it tbh, except when theyre salty : D
  15. I agree, theorycrafting with core builds and playing them extensively can be fun. If you are truly having a good time with the core class you like, while not giving a frick about losing to certain others, then by all means. That being said tho, all of the core classes are designed to be baseline, to be just fine. Core S/D thief in this case loses easily to d/p daredev, rifle deadeye (probably) but even S/D Specter too. If the player is good as hell core classes can appear to be more than just 'fine', but still, I hope you don't have the same qualm about every other (arguably worse offender) meta classes out there in PvP atm, because if yes you are signing yourself up to a lot of misery and misfortune. (I've been there)
  16. loses* Sorry I keep seeing it whenever you post here. loosing is what you do to your shoelaces or a rope, losing is when you don't win in something. : )
  17. Moa signet works best for ganking tbh. If a class like Warrior or Ele had it they would have no issues following up transform with another CC before the guy can evade frame away, however it's an issue with mesmer, because they can't really follow up on their transform half the time, except they run more condi oriented builds with pistol and/or signet of domination.
  18. Great read! Now that almost all the oldheads left who were still playing the gamemode when I started, it indeed feels like player mentality changed a lot. Also the fair-weather phenomenon and the related population issues are probably more dangerous to the health of WvW than any cele build or boonball and it really sūcks Anet can't get their act together and figure out some anti-bandwagoning device : ( we live in a society
  19. Or they could introduce a new condi that hurts affected players for some minor hp% each time they would receive a boon, but it could be stacked 😄
  20. No. Thief mains are the most oppressed groups of people in videogame history and they will make sure you never hear the end of it.. : )
