  1. Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Icelandic all are Germanic languages, so it makes sense that their special characters are all part of the same character set that is used for German's special characters. French and Spanish are Latin-based, so it makes sense that special characters for other Latin-based characters share the same character set as well. But Japanese is neither of them, nor does Japanese share the same character set as Chinese. And thus, with Japanese not sharing a character set with a supported language, there's no reason why Japanese should be usable in the game.
  2. And most of them being able to be typed in the game's chat is merely a by-product of them using the same character set as the four European supported languages that are English, German, French and Spanish. You can call it a happy accident for the people who want to use these languages. Japanese on the other hand does not share its character sets with any of the supported languages. Adding the specific character set of a language in an official manner is done on purpose, not a happy accident. And doing it on purpose implies the intend to support the language.
  3. Good thing then, that there is nothing that is "gatekeeping" the Gift of Battle in the first place. Everyone can just hop into WvW whenever they want and play it.
  4. I usually don't need stability in general PvE. I have my dodges, which usually are enough. And if I get hit by a CC or two, I usually have two stun breaks on my bar to deal with that. Thus, I prefer the 5% bonus damage and the additional 10% from starting fights with Bull's Charge. But I think we should return to the topic that is Winds of meh. I advocate for restoring it to its release version. Maybe it could even remove more boons (perhaps 5?) when first placing it.
  5. It'd be more like caving to a too-loud minority and unravelling the design. But sadly, we've already seen them caving to a too-loud minority and unravelling design, when they gave elite specialisation weapons to the entire professions.
  6. Having to spend a trait to make up for an unnecessary drawback that has no reason to exist in the first place feels bad. Taking Brave Stride also means, people who like the damage boost from Peak Performance can't have it. In my opinion, taking Peak Performance and Hounds of Balthazar on Spellbreaker feels better than taking Brave Stride and Headbutt would.
  7. I don't usually have a lot of stability in PvE, so getting stunned nearly every time I use it would annoy me.
  8. Just play the PvE part of WvW and acquire the gift as designed, "problem" solved.
  9. The chest piece of the villager corset is different from the chest piece of the former town clothes.
  10. If they actually do that in the future, I'd like them to remove the self-stun though, at least in PvE.
  11. I would like to see the villager corset as armour pieces.
  12. Can we finally have a toggle to hide shoes? The literally rarest item in the game is far too insufficient to replace a toggle. Also, please give us a client-side option to turn off Virtuoso's floating daggers. Or at the very least, make them disappear out or combat or when weapons are sheathed.
  13. I'd like to see the damage numbers and boon vomit being reverted to pre-HoT days. The boon application rates of elite specialization would also be adjusted to be in line with what a core trait line can produce. Bonus points, if they purge Concentration and Expertise from the game. I also want them to return unique boons to the game.
  14. I'd like to see that, too.
  15. If the nerfs had come with a raise in damage, than they might potentially have been good. But as it is right know, the nerfs are just bad. Becoming even more of a bunker by investing even harder in healing power is quite the opposite of what Warrior really needs.
  16. Out of those two choice, I'd choose the female human. But an Ash Legion Charr lady would be fitting, too.
  17. Warrior: 900 range right-handed sceptre that gets thrown like a javelin Guardian: 900 range thrown daggers, power damage Elementalist: 1500 range longbow Ranger: left-handed sword that uses the abilities the right-handed sword had before its dework Thief: left-handed sword Revenant: 1500 range longbow Engineer: melee staff, maybe a bit like the electrostaves in Star Wars Mesmer: left-handed dagger Necromancer: left-handed pistol
  18. My characters look mostly fine, but I'd like a few improvements: Simple jeans shorts for medium weight that have a bit of breathing room instead of being skin-tight on the female model. Bonus points, if the belt-line is on the hips, not at the waist. With the visual identity of the game already having been eroded anyway, having something down-to-earth like jeans shorts should not be too much to ask. A toggle to hide shoes. Due to the abysmally low drop rate, the invisible shoe skins are not a reasonable replacement for the toggle.
  19. That'd only be the case, if the Stealth was applied before an attack. But if it applies Stealth after its other functions, like Cloak and Dagger, there wouldn't be a reveal. Of course, the Engage ability could also be similar to Blinding Powder, which isn't an attack at all.
  20. I agree that this feature needs to have an opt-out option. If others want to know what I use, they can simply ask me. Reducing social interactions in a multiplayer game is never good, especially when it's meant to address something that has never been an issue to begin with.
  21. The Season 5 Stealth is fine as it is. But if we got a mount that applies Stealth with its dismount ability (which is what they want), it'd likely trigger Thief's related traits. Thus, that would factor into Thief's tuning.
  22. I think that Shield Stance should be the one to get a flip-over ability, as that one is the channelled block.
  23. What if the Adrenaline gain is the flip-over ability before blocking an attack and the counter-attack is the flip-over ability after blocking at least one attack? That would give more variety to how the ability can be used, while still being able to block for the full duration. And with it practically doing the same things as now, this change wouldn't warrant an increase in cooldown. I'd like to see the same change for Counterblow on Mace.
  24. That doesn't mean, we shouldn't tell them of the possible repercussions a hypothetical inclusion of that feature might entail. While I can't remember having harvested anything while being stealthed, I've used Shadow Refuge to do certain Hero Challenges and open chests surrounded by annoying enemies (like the chest surrounded by Oozes in Queensdale's jump puzzle). So I think that harvesting in Stealth should be possible.
  25. What if they want a mount that provides Stealth on the Engage ability, not just the Stealth from season 5? If there was a mount that provides stealth when dismounting with the Engage ability, it could trigger all the related Thief traits. This means, Thief would need to be tuned anew to account for being able to get Stealth without spending Initiative or popping a utility cooldown. And we all know, this tuning wouldn't be in a direction anyone likes.
