  1. Elite specs are not P2W. Expansions are not P2W. Saying a game is P2W from a competitive area of gameplay would insinuate that a low skill WvW player could beat a skilled WvW player. That's simply not true. In any aspect. For example I main thief. If I hopped on a Necro with whatever flavor of the month build it has. I would get stomped because I have 0 understanding of the class. In order to be P2W I would have to be able to buy stuff that ensures I will always win, and negate player skill or strategy. GW2 isn't P2W
  2. GW2 will be fine on steam. There are so many resources for people to use. It will have a good few months and then teeter down just like ever MMO does on steam.
  3. Absolutely no thanks on this. The classes need their identity and I'm sure alot of the combos would just look awful with skill animations.
  4. Get your kids on a schedule and it's easy. This isn't get good at parenting. It's literally manage your time. I watch my nieces and nephews for multiple weeks during the summer. They have a set schedule and lo and behold I adhere to it and they don't mess up my schedule. They are aged 3-10. My youngest niece still sit there and watch. TL;DR get on a schedule and Adhere to it.
  5. I work IT and app development I have thousands of children. If you can't game for more than an hour with one kid idk what to tell you. My sister and brother in law have 3 and we game all the time. All my friends have multiple kids. Get better at time management.
  6. You must all be horrid at time management then. I have friends with no kids that work 70 hours, People with multiple kids that work full time and yet here we all are on the weekends playing various games all day with each other. Hell we spent a whole day doing the destiny 2 raid when it dropped. We also do sherpa runs which can take twice or even three times as long as this meta. I would toss my hat in with Destiny 2 being a casual game. But if you want to do the harder content or want certain exotics you have to do harder content or content maybe you don't like. The difference is they don't complain over there as much as this community does. If you are working a normal 40 hour week and have at most 2 hours a week to game, you all need to manage your time not working better.
  7. Oof thinking an hour is a huge time investment. Y'all really want a ton of rewards for little time and effort don't you?
  8. Some of you don't know what a grind is and it shows. I just came back to guild wars 2 after a couple years. No gear to catch up on. Instantly was able to unlock my new elite spec. Wasn't gated by my level being too low. I could do all the content I wanted.
  9. Literally look at all the repeat posts on the same topics over and over and over again. I counted at least 5 posts today doing a 10 second skim that are about the EOD meta despite the already given communication. No one needs to say it lol it is how it always is. If this community had anything resembling patience there would be one post about the EoD Meta but there isn't there's multiple.
  10. OP wants transparent communication. They are getting it. This was large post for nothing lol. Rubi literally took the feedback on the biggest issue and they came up with solutions less than a week after launch. That's transparent communication if I have ever seen it.
  11. Again I have been in this community since release. As I am sure most of us have. This community has been nothing but impatient with wanting every issue commented on. You can say you want more open communication. My gaming section on my google feed is riddled with tons of posts exactly like this. If they were patient there wouldn't be the same posts popping up everyday when we got info from Rubi on Friday addressing the biggest issue which now needs data collection. I would call launching on a tuesday and replying on a Friday with changes planned pretty transparent. Dev Tracker Link: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discover/6/ /thread
  12. That's just a factual statement. Go work anywhere as a developer. Replying to every little thing would be a massive waste of time. It's much more strategic to compile the data and find key issues to address to tackle main concerns first. Actually doesn't even have to be development. Could be any product.
  13. This community has become insufferable over the lifespan of this game. Especially when people who don't understand a development cycle post stuff like this. I can assure you they are taking notes on common issues. Then they are meeting to plan on what to tackle first. Replying to each and every thread like this would be a waste of their time. You'll get communication when they have a clear plan like they always do.
  14. It really feels like the dev who made this change just read the WvW forum and didn't even look at any traits or anything else. Inf Arrow was also one of the only reasons to even look at Shadow Savior which wasn't good but wasn't terrible coupled with the blind. I could even take some kind of reduced range instead, maybe/probably not, but I don't want to see any more creative synergy get wrecked. Agreed 100%. Now thieves will use stealth more which means chances are that will be tuned as well.
  15. See I like that idea. I mean I get IA made us mobile. But it did nothing else. It didn't deal damage, it didn't give us a buff, it doesnt benefit from lead attacks. All it had was a useless blind. It has to do something to be worth wasting 8 initiative on. 8 is half of our initiative(that is with trickery) That is ridiculous due to the fact as you said we have very little left to attack with.
  16. So like most of you I was shocked to see IA nerfed after all these years for really no reason. Especially with 0 compensation in the way of damage increases, or defensive capabilities. The other issue is now that Trickery is absolutely needed as a trait line. It also offers a lot of initiative regen. Most of which have been nerfed. Examples. Kleptomaniac nerfed in 2013 from 3 to 2Quick Pockets nerfed in 2019 3 to 2 You guys can't just keep upping initiative costs on skills without adjusting how initiative is regenerated or giving thieves more initiative baseline. What did IA do that was so OP? It sure was not the blind, because no thief used it anywhere near enemies where the blind would make sense. Maybe swap the blind for swiftness? Make it worth the 8 initiative. Seeing as IA is used outside combat lead attacks does not even benefit from the initiative use. I wish I had some good suggestions, but having no explanation to really answer why you guys did this has me at a loss. I can see this being annoying in WvW but it is just a teleport lol. @Ben Phongluangtham.1065 Is it possible to get some explanation on why IA was nerfed?
  17. I find it hilarious that the balance team cannot come up with more inventive ways to fix thief skills other than upping initiative cost. It does nothing other than give us mobility. The blind on it is pretty much useless because no one uses it that way.
  18. Performance aside, every meta thief build has used shortbow since time immemorial. I'm not sure if it's prevalence is thanks to the weapon itself being too strong or that thieves just struggle THAT MUCH at holding a capture point so they always revert back to optimizing for decapping. It's also one of those things where thieves have always run shortbow so noone even thinks to try builds without it - it's just assumed that they will use sb as their secondary and create their build from there. Have you played thief? SB is used for decapping because we can't 1v1 as well as other classes. So there is no point to do anything but decap and +1.
  19. Lol. No tradeoff? Each dodge augment has its own tradeoffs and we lose 1200 range steal.
  20. The stealth change is probably one of the worst things I have read on the forums. I will use WoW as an example. Stealth has the near you detection etc because it is free to use whenever with an unlimited amount of time until you decide to break it. Stealth in GW2 is not free. As a thief you have to spend initiative to stack it or burn a cooldown. Your change would mean that stealth could be broken by an enemy trait randomly blocking while fighting a teammate. With your change stealth would not be worth using at all. That on top of skill lag would be horrid and so clunky.
  21. Going by this example of an average healthpool of 17k, lets say they are in a 1v1 and have 50% health. That means they have 8.5k left. A Thief coming to +1 the fight, in stealth, shadowsteps in and performs the combo to land an instant 5k ish damage. Leaving the opponent with only 3.5k remaining. Follow up with your team-mate with a Heartseeker and the enemy would have probably died or left the node. This is a job well done by the Thief. I will not dispute there are many factors at play which can affect these numbers such as toughness but going off the numbers I'd argue D/P Daredevil is in a good spot right now. Thanks all for talking about this :) I mean I dont disagree with that example or that D/P is in a good spot. But why be good when you can be great? There are a bunch of classes overperforming right now. Ill just wait with baited breath until the sustain balance patch.
  22. The only issue with this test is that it is somewhat unrealistic. Most opponents will often have some type of boon that reduces the damage. I mean when you really look at it. Rough math here. Say the average health pool is 17k with a crit and using 3,521(average of all your crit numbers) That is only 21% of health. Again this assumes no boons on opponent. If you are unlucky and don't hit a crit 1760 is only 10% of damage. In a realistic fight chances are your target will have some type of damage mitigation. For a skill that requires stealth and correct positioning I think it could use a slight buff. If someone has a more accurate health pool average I would be more than happy to redo the numbers Increase damage by a good margin + Can't crit so you know it'll be quite effective without the RNG of doing either too much or not enough ?That would be one way to go about it. Removing RNG isn't a bad thing to remove for a skill that has the requirement of positioning.
  23. Prot has a high priority and almost always gets ripped by steal, no? Not 100% sure the priority to be honest. I am also not sure if boon application order affects the priority at all.

  25. Condi thief doesn't have spammable stealth. Where do people get this from? ..dagger 5 Well P/D rotation after steal is usually going to be Shadow Strike followed by repeater which is 6 initiative. So out of 15 initiative that leaves them with 9. That is provided they hit their shadow strike, and also dont use dancing dagger. At best they can use it once IF IT HITS for a lousy 3 seconds of steal which they will make use out of with sneak attack which debuffs them with reveal and leaves them with little to 0 initiative. BUT WAIT IF SHADOW STRIKE HITS ARENT THEY OUT OF MELEE RANGE? WHY YES THEY ARE! Which renders CnD completely useless as a way to access stealth. TL;DR you are so hilariously wrong. ...i don't need you to teach me how to p/d thiefDo teachers and professors not correct their students when they are wrong? I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't inform you.
