  1. The advice to join a party/squad doesn't help since public usually has a queue of people trying to instance swap, if you crash you're immediately replaced. The instance also locks after a certain point, like Dragon's Stand (that one's a real rage inducing one to crash during.) I haven't had issues with Convergences specifically, but it would be nice if more events like that would give players a couple minutes grace period to reconnect to their last instance. EoD seemed to do that?
  2. I've completed the story up through "The War Council" and couldn't understand half of Peitha or Ramses' spoken dialogue, had to read the text log to get anything out of that conversation. With the effects on their voices, their overall perceived volume is much lower than Galrath and the player character. Hearing Peitha has been a struggle throughout SotO, but things felt particularly bad there. I could crank up the volume, but then all the non-Kryptis characters would be yelling in my headphones. Audio needs some adjustment for balance so we can appreciate the actors' performances.
  3. You can always use a waypoint to return to a map, if all else fails. Just won't be in exactly the same place you came from. "You do not have access to this map" usually means the particular map instance you came from closed after you left, I think. Being sent back to the same one can be useful, but it's a bit annoying it doesn't just dump you into the new IP when the old one is unavailable. I have to remember to return my parked characters to where they were after using a lounge before logging them out, or they can't go back sometimes. If you have access to a guild hall, you can try going to that and then leave via the guild panel. Will likely put you back at Lily since it's within a map, with other lounges I think you'd go back to where you were prior to the lounge. It's slightly confusing. Haven't tested if that'd avoid the locked instance and dump you in a new map instance or not.
  4. Consumables that give CC were specifically targeted because parties for the then new Sunqua Peak CM started requiring them, to deal with the large CC checks in the encounter without sacrificing DPS skill slots. Most other consumables weren't changed. The gunk only has a chance of rolling CC, probably why it was one of the last CC consumables not disabled in Fractals.
  5. As second poster said, it's usually a connectivity issue. I do plenty of quick swapping and I've only had that happen when my ISP needed to repair equipment on their end, or rarely after a client/server crash. If it happens on a regular basis, you may need to test your internet connection for things like packet loss and buffer bloat. Those won't necessarily kick you out of the game like a full disconnect would, but they can cause a lot of problems with it, and aren't particularly noticeable with most non-gaming internet use.
  6. The cogs and some jump pads in that puzzle have felt cursed since its release, also overly sensitive to internet connection and frame rate. The only other things in the game with similarly erratic behavior are the flower launchers and prototype bouncing mushrooms in SAB. Any other puzzle in the game is easier, in a sense. Chalice of Tears? Clock Tower, de-synced instance? Got it. This puzzle? I gave up on ever finishing it legitimately. It's frustrating when most of the challenge is just whether or not it works on your machine, and the lack of checkpoints you don't create yourself.
  7. They've changed all festival races to work this way, used to be you could double up some of them for laps too but hasn't worked for at least the past year.
  8. Just what the title says- Kryptis rift events outside of SotO maps never seem to give credit for the "Participate in 1 Kryptis Rift Event" daily. Timberline Falls is the only one that's ever worked for me. Please remove maps that don't work from the rift list or fix this, it's been like this for weeks. Kinda tired of wasted time on these.
  9. The vault's display has been buggy and frequently doesn't deduct all spent AA until you close and reopen the window, when that happens it confusingly gives the "sold out" error message. Maybe check to see if that's what happened.
  10. I didn't have that problem when I did Nevermore. Also, I've done DS on two accounts this week, one was mounted during end cutscene, one not, neither got credit for weekly, both got normal meta credit.
  11. I just commanded a map and got no credit towards the weekly. Had full credit for the meta itself and looted the end chest. Map chat was full of people angry they also got no credit.
  12. You're right, wall repairs used to give defense credit, but that was removed in the last WvW update. Now it's... a mystery.
  13. I saw a group of them appear by Derelict Ruins POI in Skywatch, they have a small amount of dialogue and then disappear into a ruins wall. Fun to see them again.
  14. I was fine pretending it didn't exist until it became required for some of the dailies rolls. Numerous people are just asking for this event type to be removed from the WvW pool until it can be addressed.
  15. Maybe it's a bug then, but for me it was only giving the notification that dailies had refreshed and not for completed tasks.
  16. Okay, it seems to have been fixed in the last update. Thank you! Please make it more obvious when there is AA to be collected or change it to autoconsume and get rid of the wallet cap. The rest of the game uses bouncy chest popups, or the BLTC has an obvious icon change when there is gold to pick up or a new gemstore update. Players are missing rewards because they didn't know it must be manually collected, and it's easy to forget about if you have a bad memory. This is an accessibility problem.
  17. It used to be that repairing would guarantee you credit in a defense event, now that's removed there's practically no logic to getting credit or not. I never get credit for actively defending a point, but occasionally get a reward for no apparent reason when I'd passed by several minutes before and did absolutely nothing. Some people have theorized that you need to kill an enemy player slated for capture credit, but for that to happen you need to let a defense nearly fail first and then get lucky choosing enemies to tag. Or something. Nobody seems to know how it actually works, which makes it awful to require for anything. I don't even bother trying to do defense events any more because it's always wasted effort.
  18. Scarlet invasions weren't fun in 2013 and they're still not fun 10 years later. Combining them with Transfer Chaser/Treasure Hunting Kit mechanics but less helpful just adds frustration. Players only did previous invasion-type events like the Awakened Portals once for the achievement points and then never again.
  19. I use WINE/Proton to run the game and had the launch screen hang at "initializing" problem too, so I don't think the bug is related to security software or Windows version. The -usecoherent command got everything working normally prior to the patch, thanks! My Chromium error code prior to the revert, if it helps: [0314/132636.728:ERROR:network_change_notifier_win.cc(225)] WSALookupServiceBegin failed with: 0 [0314/132637.234:ERROR:network_change_notifier_win.cc(225)] WSALookupServiceBegin failed with: 0
  20. Still broken as of today, it has now been seven months. The community shouldn't have to find a bug workaround guide online to do content as intended. The affected achievements are worth 38 points in total. Anet please fix this.
  21. Yep, one Mech Arm's shield could not be removed and it was sort of inert despite appearing hostile, could not even enter combat with it. NPCs kept trying to attack it anyway and event would not progress. Very frustrating since this also blocks progress on the House Zu Heltzer collection.
  22. Completion of Twilight Arbor's Aetherpath achievements requires hitting three airships with EMP grenades after the Clockheart boss, for "Unshippable" and "Above and Beyond." Two of the airships are still working as intended, but the third one at the top of the ramp no longer has object collision and cannot be hit with the EMPs. The targeting marker appears on walls behind the airship. I've run this path and helped others complete the achievements many times, so I'm familiar with how it used to work. Friends first told me about this problem after EoD launch and it's been broken for me and the rest of the party any time I've run the dungeon since to test. Here's hoping for a fix so more people can get the achieves and mini again soon. 🤞
