  1. I honestly don't know why you are always so mad and angry at me most of the time when I have never commented to you as a attack. As I said, people maybe seeing what you're saying as a contradiction. Rather than commenting with a attack like this, it will be better to clearify more about what you mean by "recognizable" because people tend to categorize recognizable and the same together due to how these two are more often used to define each other by certain people. Reactions like this is one of many reasons why the majority of GW2 players (like most video games) may not choose to communicate on the forums but instead take their discussion to outside sources. They are different but it is rather difficult to determine what Greyhawk is trying to communicate with his comment. As I said, people maybe seeing his comment as a contradiction because people do tend to categorize recognizable and the same together. Not everyone will do this but it is a common thing that happens when people want to define something as recognizable or seeing it as something that has not changed.
  2. Is it because you controdict yourself a lot with what you're looking for with Cantha? You say you expect Cantha to change but you are also saying you expect Cantha to look the same as well because, I am assuming, nostalgia for GW1 Factions appears to be the main focus of your excitment for EoD contents rather than the content itself. Either way, we are just the fourm users for GW2 so we're just the minority when it comes to the opinions with GW2 content (different or similar opinions but still the minority) and not like the majority of players ever touch the fourms anyways like in most games. Not to mention as other have said, the recent focus on New Kaineng is about showing the new part of Kaineng located in the South which is where we will go in GW2 EoD instead of the old part of Kaineng in the North. I expect we may see a lot of places that is recognized as "Cantha" in the North more (though in ruin state) since it is likely the Canthan governement may not have attempted to rebuild the North location but leave it in ruins thus leaving many of the old buildings underwater or left to be rebuilt by those who choose to live there. My best guess from what we are given so far the Canthan government focus in development and changes for Kaineng appears to be the South region only which may lead to part of the plot about how those living in or near New Kaineng have better lives due to how much easier life is thanks to Jade Tech (remember a previous trailer mentions how Canthans have become obsessed with Jade tech making their life easier and not caring about the cost) while those living in the older part of Kaineng are treated as second class citizens with harsher lives since they don't have the convenience of Jade tech and may have to depend on older traditions and methods of Cantha. However, Old Kainent maybe going to be the next Living World content since the wordings of Anet developers so far appears to give the impression they may not be giving us any part of Old Kaineng in EoD Main Story but instead maybe the next Living world story unless they surprise us on release and reveal there is one more Map they kept a secret located in part of Old Kaineng.
  3. Personally, I am glad they will deal with the aftermath of the Risen losing Zhaitan now since we are literally near the end of the Elder Dragon's storyline. With them moving on to a new storyline after EoD or the living world after EoD, it is best to finish unfinished questions involving Elder Dragons such as what became of their minions with their Master now gone. I am honestly surprised they took this long to start covering this because they had a huge opportunity many times before to cover this with the unfinished 4th Map of Orr that was originally meant to show the aftermath of Zhaitan's death by releasing that map anytime during the course of GW2's life to this day.
  4. I am curious how will they make Old Kaineng. If everything new been focused on the south part of Kaineng then it is partly expect that Old Kaineng may look like a ruined city ofthe GW1 we know and maybe see a bit of people just living in ruined or badly repaired versions of the building we once knew in GW1.
  5. As I said, even back in GW1 the areas of Kaineng that normally goes through renovation is the areas around the Palace. Areas farther away from the Palace tend to be the locations that they focus on just building over the old parts of the city. A lot of the focus in this trailer appears more focused on Kaineng Center which is the location just right infront of the Palace. We should see the building over the old aspect of Kaineng again once we go more farther from Kaineng Center once again in GW2.
  6. Considering the city still follows the build over the old part of the city, I expect we may see slumbs and bits of old Kaineng under the newer parts of the city. Effort to improve Kaineng has never really renovated areas that are far from the Palace even during GW1 but just built over them like sweeping dust under rugs to hide how dirty the place really is.
  7. The trailer showing off New Kaineng. As I said before, I like the design choice of having it be a mix of old and new as it gives the feel of going to a place in China that did modernize but still maintain a lot of its old building and culture while seeing development into the new technology. It shows how while certain people are accepting of the advancement, they still want to maintain certain aspect of their culture from older times. It will be interesting how will they show the different opinions of Canthans involving accepting the changes of modernization while showing a side that prefer maintaining their more older culture. Also, I see a lot of potential outfits and armor sets in this trailer as well.
  8. A lot of characters in Dragon Watch and past encounters do appear to be entering that Diplomat/representative/leader position as their retirement plan. With Caithe now leader of the Crystal Bloom, even if she no longer plays a big role in the new storyline after the Elder Dragon Saga ends, she is in a position to return anytime due to needing to represent the Crystal Bloom organization. That or she gets Koss to act as a representative in her place. Logan reason for returning once in a while for future storylines after Elder Dragon story ends for the new story is the same with Caithe since relationship development between the organization and countries is still important not just for long term survival of the organization but also to be in a position for their aid to be accepted if a threat appears that requires their talents. Kasmeer on the other hand does appear to be Anet's chosen character to return the most as a long time companion since they set the plot to have Queen Jennah be very direct with negotiations whenever access to a new country is opened. What better way to get there and have the ideal bodyguard than the Commander himself/herself. I expect Kasmeer role as a long term companion is basically set by Anet for the new story after the Elder Dragon Storyline ends and the new Storyline begins.
  9. after what happened in current story events, I am not surprised he decided to sit this one out until the next living world story. Rylock probably has a lot of things he needs to sort out after the death of his son and the mess left behind within the Charr's society. While the commander is with his/her current chosen companions in Cantha, a lot of offscreen events may play out for both Rytlock and Braham. I am still guessing that these off-screen events may lead to both Rytlock and Braham finally retiring from the group like Rox did. Thus leading to them only showing up once in a while to act as representatives like Rox is now for the Olmakhan and Logan for the Pact. Either way I expect since we are reaching the finale of the Elder Dragon storyline and moving on to a new one after that each Dragon's watch member may retire and Dragon's watch fully disband to make way for a new group of companion in the new storyline after the Elder Dragon storyline end.
  10. I know but judging by how this cutscene will take place in the Shing Jea Island which is where we will begin GW2 EoD story, I suspect that Aetherblade ship is one that the Commander and his/her companions manage to steal or manage to sneak on to so they can sneak into Cantha with the other Aetherblades to discoer what they are up to. My suspecion is that in the beginning of the story the Commander and his/her companions do not even know the Aetherblades have been traveling to Cantha so they sneak on to that Aetherblade ship so they can follow them. If the trailer is anything to go by, Cantha may still has its isolation policy and the Commander and his companions are entering the place illegally. I suspect the first mission in EoD is going to be about taking that Aetherblade ship we see shot down or will be about getting on that ship so the Commander and his/her companions can follow the Aetherblades due to currently not knowing that the Aetherblades have been traveling into Cantha for years now. Of course everything goes wrong the moment they enter Cantha which leads to that cutscene in the trailer.
  11. It will be interesting to see how they will play this Meta boss out considering we will be fighting underwater in this meta. That aside, guess we now know how we begin the story with entering Cantha. The commander and his/her companions are attacked and shot down from the sky. As a wise person once said, "another happy landing".
  12. It was mentioned the Jade Brotherhood are experimenting on animals with Dragon Jade to understand the effects they have on living beings. These undead maybe one of their results which may mean we maybe able to find data about how Dragon Jade affects living beings there or through a Main story quest.
  13. Ya it has been a very long time teased at us since GW2 began and now we finally get the Leviathan boss fight. As for the ending scene of this trailer with Ley Lines going into the sky, looks like it. Why is in question but since part of this expansion story is to discover the very Secrets of the Dragons, I think it may related to something big about Elder Dragons. Maybe a hint to their origins so we learn how the whole Elder Dragon Cycle began for my guess.
  14. The big lore reveal why we are going to Cantha is revealed in this trailer. It appears the main antagonist for this expansion will be the Aetherblades as their long silence has finally been broken revealing all this time they had been in Cantha preparing for a new plan that may lead to a all out war if they are not stopped. We also learn Cantha still very much are untrusting of outsiders so part of the story will focus on earning their trusts. That aside, I really like that New Kaineng still looks like the old Kaineng from GW1 while new buildings and technology has been added. It feels like going to that certain part in a city in China where they have modernized but still maintain a lot of old buildings as well. I also love how the new Jade tech mastery expands on our Gliding Mastery. I always felt expansion masteries have potential to expand on old expansion masteries. Not to mention that Meta boss reveal with that Giant Dragon Fish! It is Leviathan!
  15. it really one of those up to the user type of thing. We have seen Jade tech has lead to Cantha having modern technology due to the rapid advancement Jade Tech has provided them, I won't be surprised if they already have smart phones, so I expect certain regions may start using Jade Tech out of convnience to improve their daily life while some may seek to use it to help advance their weapon technology. There will be no doubt certain people who will refuse to use Jade Tech due to how new the Technology is for their society and stick to their own past technology they spend generations using but that is common behavior even in our own history has shown.
  16. Well recent reveals shows that the new Mastery is Jade Tech Mastery. That is a rather interesting choice because it partly means that Jade tech may become more commonly used in the future. Maybe Jade tech could be being spread around in the Black Market trade after all if this Mastery means Jade tech related stuff in future Living world updates.
  17. sadly to get that working they need a Elite Spec that specialize in making Engineer not depend on kit 99% of the time. That will require a very heavy rework of Engineer's mechanic with this new Elite Spec to make Main Weapons a viable option so players won't need to depend on kits and just stick to their Main Weapon while having traits or Elite Spec specific benefit that improves on Utility skills not related to kits such as gadgets.
  18. I honestly been waiting for Staff Elite Spec Engineer for a long time already and hope it is for a Technomancer Elite Spec. It is such a potential concept if done right but I don't even have a clue on what maybe a mechanic for a Technomancer Elite Spec.
  19. I think Engineer has plenty of potential to make some of the standard Melee Weapons into Range weapons. Greatsword, for example, can be a Range weapon for Engineer if they design it right for a Tech sword theme Elite Spec. Tech sword is a potential theme for a Engineer Elite Spec beyond just GunSaber/GunBlade option and with Warrior taking Gunblade option, Anet needs to go into the other types of Tech Swords instead which there are a lot of options. There is Flame/Heat sword which is powered by heat energy to create range heat attacks that can create slash waves or other things, Electric/Energy charged swords for energy based range slash attacks, Core powered tech swords for range attacks based on what powers the core, and etc. Then there is also Short bow or Long bow Elite Spec which I think maybe best for a Engineer trapper Elite Spec that focus on Traps in Utility and Tech Arrows so they can go that Rambo theme Elite Spec.
  20. Speaking of Ranger, like how I am a bit surprised they have not given Engineer a Elite Spec that focus on their Main Weapon through some kind of Elite Spec mechanic that allows them to customize their Main Weapon using their Engineering skills, I am still wondering how long will Anet take to bring in the Rifle Elite Spec for Ranger. Rifle Elite Spec for Ranger feels like a obvious choice for a Ranger Elite Spec to specialize into having the Ranger work with their pet more. A modern hunter Elite spec in a certain point of view. As for the tool belt changing Elite Spec for Engineer, I felt that will fit the Wrist Launcher Elite Spec but atleast one possible way they may have the Wrist launcher Elite Spec mechanic function. However, Anet will have to choose a Main weapon for this Elite Spec that will be a viable option since the Enigneer will no longer have access to Kit weapons but instead the Kits focus on switching their tool belt skills with Wrist launcher skills instead based on which tool kit is being used. Not to mention certain traits to make certain Core weapons are also possible choices so that the Elite Spec specific Main Weapon is not the only viable option. There are other options they may take with Wrist Launcher Elite Spec as well but I believe the most simple solution will be to have it based on which Kit is active. No idea what kind of Utility skill they may consider though.
  21. I suspect the Dragon jade being the reason maybe related to the missing Dragon Energy. Not to mention if Cantha has fallen into a type of Civil War among the Gangs and the government being part of it but can't contain the war from going out of control then there is a chance the conflict may have lead to Dragon Jade tech reaching black market trades into Core regions since such chaotic times often leads to those seeking to make a profit among the chaos. This often leads to specific things, such as technology, falling into certain illegal markets such as possible Dragon Jade tech. The new meta is actually something I had hoped they will do with Fort Aspenwood since it has such a potential Meta event spot. It will be interesting how they will have this Meta play out to reflect our character being the attacker of the fort for this meta.
  22. I still have my bet on it being the Dragon Jade or something related to it. The recent interview mentions something important will happen during the first part of EoD that makes us want to go to Cantha but we don't know what it is. I have a feeling Dragon Jade tech may have made it way to core regions and the Commander, Aurene, and the others notice the missing Dragon Energy in it.
  23. Well the pet mech elite spec was in demand by the vocal people for Engineer for a long time so it was expect to eventually be released. I am glad they deal with it now since with that out of the way, Anet can atleast focus on other things for Engineer with their future Elite Spec. I always been interesting in Elite Specs that can modify Main Weapons so players can change/customize their Main Weapon skills based on how they want to use their Main Weapon which I do speak about a lot in my other posts (sorry if I repeat this topic often but it such a potential concept for Engineer that I felt should have been part of the Engineer's Core mechanics when GW2 was just released as a alternative for those who don't want to focus on Kits as their Engineer Main weapon) and a Elite Spec that expands on the toolbelt mechanic of Engineer like a wrist launcher mechanic Elite Spec since there always been potential to expand on toolkits with a Elite Spec ever since they introduced Elite Spec in HoT.
  24. there is a lot of things the Commander can do if he/she was not limited to the given skills and the Core/Elite Spec mechanics. For example, the Commander as a Engineer should be able to create and modify both the Kits and Main Weapon skills to different skills through their engineering skills based on ideas they can think about or use ideas from other people who have created certain technologies. The Holosmith's holoforge should be able to change up their default 1 attack combo between their holosword and other holoweapons such as holo-rifles, holo-pistols, holo-staff,and etc for different styles of auto attacks through the Engineer modifying the holoforge. Mesmers should be able to create more skills and stronger illusions and the most skilled mesmers should be able to make a army of illusion as seen with Anise skills with her mesmer illusions. A lot of things should be possible but gameplay wise it is very limited for gameplay sakes.
  25. I can't tell if this is meant to be a joke or just venting about how much you hate Engineer profession. Either way I will say this.... Engineer probably has the largest potential for the most creative Elite Specs in GW2 BUT the main issue is that development team appears to not want to get very creative with ideas or are uncertain if they want to break down Engineer from their original plan to be a Jack of All trades but Master of None design when it was just Core professions. Holosmith is probably the current out 3 Elite spec for engineer where they know what they wanted it to be being a direct damage DPS job that focus on a customizable kit being the Holoforge. It shows if they just focus on a very specific mechanic for Engineer's elite spec while still keeping it related to Engineer using their ability to make things and modify things, they can decide where they want to go for each Elite Spec. It is one reason why I think a Main Weapon Elite Spec can be quite the potential Elite Spec if they do the customize Main Weapon skill set mechanic right. However, I can't say how for certain since there are many ways they can go with the mechanic by design. Effort and time is where the real work will always be placed in the end of designing Elite Specs after all.
