  1. Maybe try to convince Anet developers that every single profession needs to hit 7K+ on all attack skills may fix the issue? Jokes aside, I doubt we will see Anet adjust Engineer in a buff way. Since Core days, Engineer Jack of All Trades but Master of None design has been something that has not motivated Anet to make the profession deal high DPS outside of certain things like Grenade. If I remember right, they attempted to nerf Grenade kit multiple times through the years as well. Even if they manage to do so, Meta mentality will make it difficult still since Meta is what certain people think will always be the best when it is just the most optimal build majority agree on. Not everyone performs at their best when following Meta as certain people can perform better in Off-Meta builds (which of course leads to creating new Meta builds eventually). However, buff to everything Engineer may add more options to what people agree on what is Meta or more accepting of Off-meta builds since they can perform just as well against those who perform better with Meta builds.
  2. would like to see a new Canthan theme outfit less about tech and focus on beauty. There are a lot of potential ways to go this since Cantha combines both Chinese and Japanese cultures.
  3. Shortbow been a Condition weapon for a long time so at this point expecting it to be Condition damage focus is expect (Thief is a bt funny since you have to hit a Poison condition enemy to trigger the 1 skill bleed condition). How it may function on the other hand is the big question Personally I expect it may focus on different types of Explosive arrows that apply different conditions which may make this a very Explosive Main weapon for the Engineer for Explosive theme benefits when it comes to "short" range Condition Main Weapon. Unless they some how make Shortbow provide long range combat use.
  4. I actually been thinking this should have been what the Holosmith holoforge should do since Day 1. It would be a interesting way to make the Holoforge a more Customized Kit beyond just the Trait lines. Not to mention open holosmith to more condition builds as well for those who wan to make condition focus builds instead of Strike damage builds. Gorrik actually uses a specialized holoforge himself designed to use a Holo-Pistol and Holo-shield instead of the Holo-sword while still being able to use Holoforge skills.
  5. certain Torment Demons also have Fleshy like appearances as well back in GW1. I suspect for now we maybe going into the more "Races" of Demons rather than Factions of Demons for this expansion.
  6. They do forget characters. Back in early days of icebrood saga, a lot of people was still asking about Laranthier of the Wild's condition and why he has been MIA. In response to this constant question, they added the small detail of NPCs in the first chapter of Icebrood saga explaining that Laranthier been on a leave of absence to take care of the Pale Tree and admitted they do tend to forget about certain characters for a time due to how many characters they added into the storyline making a bit difficult to keep up with everyone of them.
  7. assuming Anet even remembers him. He has been MIA since Season 2. Zojja atleast had a reason for MIA until this expansion decided to bring her back being that most people assumed she was still in her Coma though now we know she has been out of it for a long time but went on her own Main Storyline to prevent a Demon Invasion while the Commander and the others dealt with the Elder Dragons
  8. Sticky Bomb Arrows is actually some very basic Engineer skills used by Rogues/Archers in Fantasy RPGs as well. In most cases, Rogues/Archers act as the Engineers of a Fantasy game based on what path they take due to how creative they have to get with their Arrows and trap skills due to their lack of Magical powers compared to a Mage and lack of great strength a Warrior would have which lead to them having skills such as Explosive arrows that can stick to enemies or surfaces before exploding, specialized Traps with different effects created by them using whatever creative thought they have, certain specialize gadgets for stealth using whatever they find to craft into that tool, sometimes they develop Alchemy skills to make specialize potions and poisons to use, and etc due to how Dexterous and Cunning they must be in engagements. It is actually interesting how much a Engineer a Rogue/Assassin/Archer can actually be in certain Fantasy games due to the concept they follow. In GW2 case, Thief has the benefits of Shadow Magic but they still utilize a bit of engineering skills to create their traps and specific arrows for their shortbows. However, Engineer follows more when people invest in crafting tools instead of depending on magic and physical strength.
  9. Well they have left Doern Velazquez open to the concept of civilizations beyond the known ones we have seen only in GW1 and GW2 so far. However, he maybe forgotten at this point since we have not seen him since Season 2.
  10. I say we have plenty of places to visit considering we have only explored what is 1/3 of the entire planet itself if the world map is close to accurate https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/a/ac/Tyria_world_fan_map.jpg/1200px-Tyria_world_fan_map.jpg That aside... I wonder if Anet even still remember Doern Velazquez and the big mystery they setup for him being a person not from the known regions of GW2.
  11. Let us put things this way. It is time for the Guardians to embrace the power of a Space Marine for their Faith is their Shield and they will purge the Heretics!
  12. well it is very much a given that any strike damage weapon should just be given based +20% increase in damage when above 50% and condition weapons given extra stack of condition when above 50% heat. As for sword outside of Holosmith, the increase in base damage to be what it is at that +20% bonus is just something that should be a default since it is purely a Strike weapon. Though they can just modify it when not being used by Not Holosmith to provide something else like guarantee Might or a condition like Torment, Burn, confusion, or bleed. Only reason, I am guessing, they do not adjust sword outside of Holosmith is fear that it may become "better" than when using it with holosmith since it also already apply Vulnerability. Mace is a decent weapon, as a example, that can be used for both strike, condition, or hybrid due to its design. The confusion applied adds a bit of cover for any strike damage lost due to going pure strike but provide just enough condition for a pure condition build as well. If I remember right, Mace actually has a high base damage than sword. Sword obviously need to be redjusted for a while to have higher base damage atleast to be equal to Mace. Mace may actually produce higher strike damage output than sword that has that 50%< heat bonus. Mechanic wise for sword, I feel they can make it a bit more unique outside of Holosmith or atleast adjust it a bit with something else but still function with both Holosmith and Non-Holosmith elite specs if they do not plan to give us that +20% damage boost from heat (in a certain way) outside of Holosmith. I think one way for this is to give the Sword a addition effect to make it cause explosive damage basically turning it into a mini-Storm version of the Holoforge default attack. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now back on topic for shortbow.... I am curious what role will it play. Tech arrow seems the most likely design choice as it is a most common Engineer thing when it comes to bows and arrows but will it be Power based, Condition based, or a Hybrid (Mace is a hybrid weapon that can fit into both Power, condition, or hybrid design builds). Not to mention function since it may focus on more direct damage performance or something else. Considering Engineer been wanting a new Range Main weapon for long time after years of getting only Melee weapon additions, there is certainly a level of expectations higher than the other profession's new weapons.
  13. So more expansion reveals involving the lore. Zojja part is something a lot of players will have in question because now they basically tell us she was ok this entire time though still a bit damaged from what happened in HoT and went on her own Main Storyline through the entire events of Season 3 to EoD separate from our Commander's Main Storyline. Though I still feel her returning now is more to conclude her story since she is the only member of the Elder Dragon storyline left who has yet to have a Retirement plan from Elder Dragon hunting now it is over like everyone else who are still alive. I pray her story is not too rushed. As for the new antagonist (or old antagonist), I am a bit curious to see what lore they add to the already existing lore about the Demons in the Mists. Focusing on more fleshy type demons can open up some flesh horror based designs for their enemy types.
  14. Tech Arrows for bow weapon been something that has been expect for a long time now. It is such a classic engineer type weapon and skills for those who enjoy Rambo theme characters. Got to use those Engineering skills for survival after all which is something our Engineer should have gotten for a while now due to how far the Commander has explored and in many situations now he/she would only have to use whatever they can scrap together which Tech Arrows being one of the easier things to make.
  15. Not being able to fully customize our Mech appearance is lore inaccurate anyways. We literally built our Jade mech so it reasonable that we may have also made parts to give them some unique appearance to stand out from others. Not to mention maybe have some special color filtering parts designed to change the color of the Jade parts from outside appearance even though it is still green jade under those color filter layers. Basically placing a type of different color protective glass over those jade parts to make the green color look different such as blue, red, and etc.
  16. It should be easy but sometimes the easy things are the hardest to do as they say. Either way Holosmith getting special Bonus for Heat on all weapons should have been something from the start. It may add some unique gameplay design based on what kind of Heat bonus each weapon gains. Then the part for accounting the loss of heat bonus when using Sword outside of Holosmith. It will need something new to replace the loss of that +20% Damage buff.
  17. I think things liek new Legends for Revenant and new Utility skills for all Professions are still in play but for later "expansions" since this expansion is more of a new starts with the new storyline to go a new direction with professions each expansion now. They just won't be Bound to new Elite Specs if they plan to add more of these things later. However, they may have to consider new Core Trait lines to account for new Utility skill additions. Not to mention we may have new traits for future weapons as well or older trait lines are updated to include benefits for these weapons. I am curious how they may handle new trait lines if no more Elite specs since trait lines tend to usually have a but of focus on specific weapons.
  18. I would love to see this but for now chances of this is very low and we probably have a better chance at seeing them manage to some how bring back the scrapped Companion system they once had planned for GW2 before GW2 was released than get Jade Bot skins considering that will open up more cosmetic shop options for all professions due to companions being universal to all professions than something exclusive to a single Engineer Elite Spec thing. If it does some how get released, I would love to see GW1 Golem skins.
  19. since we are getting Shorbow this expansion for Engineer, My voite remains only Greatsword, Staff, and Focus now. Greatsword is a good option for Tech swords which been one of many things used in fantasy theme games when it comes to engineering a sword using technology. Most maybe too young to remember Mana Khemia from the Atelier game series where a character named Flay Gunnar used a Tech sword that had multiple functions. It used the basic sword form for melee combat but it also had the ability to thrown a giant Ninja star as a Boomerang that was built into the blade, generate electricity to enhance the attacks, create a shockwave, and transform into a drill for drill attacks. Staff is something I hope to see due to the old Technomancer theme. Focus is something I see like GW2 version of a Tech Gauntlet. A lot of Sci-fi and Fantasy theme series that involve technology sometimes create tech gauntlets as a means to manipulate things. Omni tool from Mass Effect series is probably the more well known Tech Gauntlet due to how popular Mass Effect was.
  20. One issue a lot of people mentioned is how Sword is having issues working outside of Holosmith the most. It is average in strike damage from what certain amount of players tested but it lose a decent amount of DPS due to not utilizing the +20% damage boost from 50% or Higher heat part. It will take a lot of trial and error to make sword work above average which I will be doing a lot once the Expansion is fully released and everything been set since I have been wanting to try making a hybrid strike/condition build using sword and pistol with Engineer for a while but with Elite Spec restrictions removed on sword it opens up more options beyond just Holosmith. The design of this Main weapon is specifically for Holosmith due to how dependent it is one Heat when not in Holo Mode. A adjustment to the Sword should be added when players are not using Holosmith Elite Specialization where the +20% damage boost from 50% and higher Heat into something new. Maybe change it to a Might Buff gain when not using Holosmith or change it to some kind of Condition when not using Holosmith though I think it being Burn condition will match the theme of the weapon since the concept of the Main Hand Sword is literally a lightsaber but certain people may think Burn condition is maybe too much so Bleed may become the default result. Of course they may have it apply extra stack of Vulnerability instead. It has also been said for a long time that Holosmith should gain some kind of Heat bonus for all Weapons as well. It opens up more to the other Main Weapons when playing as the Holosmith's high risk and reward style.
  21. Which are all kits meant to replace or work with the Main Weapon. Depending on how the Shortbow is handled, it may synergize with these kits better than current main weapons which so far mostly been used for their stats on Kits rather than synergizing with the Kits. That and if it does end up being a condition based weapon with Trap like skills or field skills, it would provide a additional option for Engineer to use their Main weapon to focus on field DoT effects while leaving Utility for other things that are not Mortar, grenade, and Bomb Kit. The goal with the weapon system is to expand on possible builds after all.
  22. Warrior staff been one of the thing that get mentioned once in a while over the years ever since they added Spear type skins for Staff weapons. Something a group of people wanted to see due to how it may provide warrior with Spear type attacks thus treating Staff as a spear instead. Tech Arrow Bow been one of the things I have been expecting for Engineer for a while. Think Rambo and Hawkeye style arrows with each Arrow having very specific Tech function. Being something like a Rambo and Hawkeye theme bow and arrow, I alway saw this weapon choice to be something more for traps either making it a weapon more to condition applying with each different Tech arrow or if Power focus more on a lot of Vulnerability applying and making things difficult for enemies to escape from the Engineer.
  23. well keep in mind plenty of people hated that the Commander was not the center of attention, chosen to be the leader of the Pact, and assumed the Commander is the strongest in combat ability considering he/she always turns the tides of events once he/she joins a fight. I do not think many considered what kind of position the Commander would have been in if he/she was placed as the Leader of the Pact considering through Zhaitan Arc we seen a lot of political things had to be dealt with off screen by Trehearne while the Commander went to deal with his/her own thing. Many saw Trehearne as the guy who stole all the credit from the Commander, despite his actions always giving credit to the commander in everything he/she is involved in, and did not consider what Trehearne did for the Commander off screen so the Commander can have the freedom he/she has in GW2. Trehearne dealt with a lot of the desk jobs and political stuff no one will like wasting their "play" time dealing with daily but still vital stuff that needs to be dealt with to keep a organization running. A lot of focus on Trehearne hatred was through what players only saw directly so there was a lot of things about Trehearne that was not considered until later part of GW2 story starts to mention it more directly in dialogue. There is also consideration about the public image of the Commander affecting things which was why the Commander was more in a second in command position so that people who may want to take advantage of the Pact when it is still young cannot use the Commander's negligence of leadership duties against the Pact. Trehearne took the blunt of all these things because he was the one placed as the Leader so the Commander did not need to deal with it.
  24. For all these years we have always asked what is the secrets of Wizard Tower? Now we will learn that Secret! So what do you think about this upcoming expansion focus on with the lore involving Wizard Tower and things from beyond? --------------------------------------------------------- Update on more reveals about the Expansion's lore! https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/after-the-dragon-cycle/ Zojja Zojja is a character who has been mysteriously AWOL since the events of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns™, where she endured some pretty awful injuries after being trapped inside of that blighting pod. While I don’t want to spoil her journey, I can say that it was an emotional one. We have years of lost ground to cover, and our favorite golemancer has been doing some serious soul searching. Like the commander will have in Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, Zojja needed a journey of her own. I’ll keep that story under my hat for now; getting to explore the depths of Zojja’s self-discovery was a delight. In the middle of our fight against the Kryptis, we’re going to have some incredibly tender and vulnerable moments with our asuran ally. The Kryptis The Kryptis are one of the…meatier enemies we’ve fought to date. Finding a new enemy force that touched on past lore but was also fresh and exciting to long-term players was a significant goal of ours (and a very interesting challenge from a worldbuilding perspective). Creatures of the demon realm; it’s been a hot minute since we’ve faced off against foes from across the Mists. With the exception of a few Kryptis that have wiggled their way through Tyria’s back door in the past, we haven’t spent a lot of time with these guys before. They’re fleshy, they’re horrifying, and they’re eager to take us out. But they’re not necessarily a world-ending threat, per se, as menacing as they are. We just got done with the Elder Dragons, after all. As you dive into Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure and fight back against the Kryptis, you’ll unravel a much more personal rivalry between some of our key players—one that has lasted for over a millennium. Better yet, after we’ve completed the first leg of the story high above the cloud cover of Tyria, we’re going to continue this journey in a much more…curious environment.
  25. Personally, I just call this style Sci-fi Fantasy. It holds both elements from Sci-fi series and Fantasy series but due to how mixed it is, we cannot say it is purely one or the other.
