I have never understood why anyone would watch someone else play a game (other than tips for where to find X). So I certainly never heard of anyone the OP talked about streaming. I play to bash monsters. I am having fun and the servers seem pretty full. No worries, mate :)

The characters that I worked up through the levels always used whatever armor/weapons got dropped. I rarely bought anything for them (other than some fancy jewelry when they hit level 80). I just bought PoF 4 days ago and used the character slot/level boost and his gear is fine. I am soloing around on my skimmer and having a blast. I think my avatar has died 3 times so far?

Been playing since the original GW so I guess I am a Veteran. But have always been very Casual. Overall I am a Satisfied, Polygamous, play as long as it is fun kind of guy. I am just here for some casual (consensual) monster bashing.

I just ran into that. I had the XP but not the Mastery points for level 3 raptor. I did the story line quests, and got a few points. Also, the Reins of the Raptor. That is a super easy collection for 1 point. Once you get the raptor to level 3 and get your skimmer & springer there are a lot of points for a level 1 sringer in the Desert Highlands. Looks to me like getting the raptor to level 3 is about the toughest part. Very limited on what you can do. With my new skimmer (got it today) I already ran around and got a few more Mastery Points. There are a couple games I did not do. The Pahans Memory Game (A Trip Down Memory Lane) and Pot of Soup (Just a Sip). I looked at them on YouTube and they do not look like anything I would do... I will save them for emergencies ha ha ~Edit~I also switched between my minion master (story) and my warrior (explorer) depending on where the points are. They are account wide, not character specific. That helps a lot.

I have a bunch of gems and am waiting for August to see what goes on sale. ...but there are only 8 professions... how many slots do we need. This ain't like Ultima Online. You could mix and match any skill on any character and I had like 20 characters there! :)

I don't know what a reaper is, but my minion master can walk through PVM like nothing. I made warrior as my new toy and he is pretty good, but he got bogged down trying to do the PoF story. My minion master breezes right through it. I am enjoying the warrior though, he just won't continue the PoF story ha ha. It is tough to solo big groups without someone helping take agro. I wish we could hire NPC heroes like we did in Guild Wars.

Well I opted for a warrior. Usually the first thing I try... why did I never try it? So far I love him. Been running around the Crystal Oasis and soloing everything. Can take a beating, and puts out decent damage. Use the worm to hold point and hang back with a longbow, use the axe/shield up close. (had 2 character slots, and one level 80 boost to use).

Cool, thanks. I figured it had to have been discussed, I just did not see that one. Looks like the easiest would be to keep going on the story. The memory game looks good too :)

I just upgraded to PoF recently and am looking for Mastery points that can be done on the raptor. I have a raptor, and 4 points. I used 3 of the points to get the first 2 pet levels. I have the XP for level 3 but only 1 point available. Looking at my map I have 2 Mastery points on the Crystal Oasis. Why I had 4 points... I do not know (must have had a couple freebies somewhere?). The 2 I have are:Crystal Oasis Insight: Old AmnoonCrystal Oasis Insight: Amnoon Bazaar I was reading through the Mastery points from this list https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_Insights_(Path_of_Fire) and these are the only ones that look Raptor friendly (level 2 raptor, that is):Elon Riverlands Insight: Ossa's DefeatDesolation Insight: Silent IsleDesolation Insight: Shattered Ravines Those all look very far away. I can get there, but was hoping for something sooner. I need 2 more points to get him to level 3 so I can get more mounts. I really did not care about the other mounts, but the game seems to think I need them ha ha Are there any others I can get to quicker?

I don't know what a holo build is... or mashing skills. :) I need to play with the shroud some, I have never really figured out what it is good for. I guess I will just hold on to the character slots and see if the next expansion has a new class? I kind of wanted to make a new avatar so I could use the level 80 boost that is clogging up my extra shared backpack space

My necro is great, but I was just looking for something new to try. I have 2 extra slots... :)

I started Guild Wars back on GW1. My main was my elementalist. When I started GW2 my first avatar was an elementalist. I never liked him... I have 5 level 80 characters, and 2 open slots. I am looking for something fun for solo play. What I have now is:Human - elementalist, guardian, and ranger. Charr - revenant, and necro/minion master. My necro minion master is my main avatar, then the ranger. The elementalist, revenant, and guardian are rarely played. They are all level 80, I just never warmed up to some of them. Since I just upgraded for the mount I got a new character slot. What are your favorite solo characters? I am a pretty casual player, never been in a dungeon, don't know what fractals are, and not in a guild. I mostly like to explore, and do the hearts around the map. Who is good for solo monster bashing?

I voted 4, meant to vote 5, but really it is more like 2 (all 5 level 80). I have an elementalist, guardian, and revenant that I rarely play. My main is my necro/minion master, and my other fun avatar is my ranger. The others just clicked with me. I am looking for what to try next, I just bought the mount expansion and got a new slot (have 2 open now). Not sure who, if anyone, to try next. May make a new thread about that... :)

I got a level 80 revenant with (I think) the glider expansion. I already had 4 level 80 avatars, so I understand the game - I was lost on that cat. When you start at the beginning you learn your character abilities and traits as go. With a level 80 boost it is all just there (he even came with max gear). I just had no idea who or what he was. So I took him to Divinity Reach and played the game from the beginning. Did the exploring, the hearts, and just learned what he was. I still do not care much for the character, but I understand him better.

I played GW for a long time, and my elementalist was my main. When I got GW2 the elementalist was the first character I created. I finally got him up to 80 but never learned to keep him alive. I now just sign him on once a year for his birthday present. On the level 80 content my only character that is playable (for me) is my minion master necro. I just upgraded today to the mounts expansion (it probably has a name)... my minion master breezed through without taking a hit. I doubt I could get my elementalist through it. I had to adjust my characters for the new game and my playstyle. No elementalist or guardian for me (I know they work for others).

The only guild wars vids I watch are how to get to vistas, if I cannot figure it out. I do not care to see mistakes in those.

I was always surprised there were not mounts to begin with. I started online gaming with Ultima Online, in 1997. It amused me that GW2 got wings before mounts. Mounts are a great way to get around. They can be a fun addition, but I hope they do not end up being a requirement.
