  1. Oh no! I have not experienced that and I have run it several times. Let me look at my setup to see if there's anything else I changed that I missed in the instructions. I did it once to get everything working, then a second time to write up the details, so it's possible I missed something. I found the issue:-) your instructions were good, in fact I had an extra folder in Documents named Guildwars 2 where PlayOnMac installed the game, I remember it asked me where I wanted to install the game and I put it there. but indeed in the PlayOnMac folder there was a Gw.2.exe and gw2.dat but this one was empty so I just moved the first in place of the empty one and everything works like a charm now:-) Thanks again for the instruction guide!! I will now fine tune the settings in the game to get the best between fps/pretty/playable:-)I will post some feedback in a couple of days between GFN and PlayOnMac if it is helpful. Cheers
  2. So I installed the game (64 windows version) using PlayOnMac yesterday, Thanks @Gumbolia.5381 for the detailed instructions (see earlier in this thread). On my mid 2014 MBpro (Mojave) with intel graphic it seems to work about the same as with the dedicated mac client so far(maybe a little less good in terms of fluidity/fps) with some minor issues like boss (bounties) taking time to load but I think it could be resolved by better setting the performances (erased the mac client settings too fast so I have to fine tune again:-)). At least I did the dailies this morning and it was playable, not perfect but I can imagine continue playing the game with that (to be confirmed with a longer experience). Comparing to GFN I realise how even with my poor connexion having 30fps (with GFN) is smoother that the 10/15fps I usually have on the mac :-) It really is a game changing experience.I will continue evaluating GFN and PlayOnMac the next couple of weeks to see how it compares for me. Oh also after playing the game this morning (first time), I tried to relaunch it from PlayOnMac but the GW2 loader act like the game is not installed and starts to DL everything again!! The game is still on the SSD so it is surely just a pointing issue somewhere in PlayOnMac but I did not figure it out yet. If anyone had that issue and found the solution I'll be thankful to know:-) download 50Go each time i want to play is going to be quite cumbersome!!:-)
  3. Thanks for that, I will have look at it.And thanks everyone for trying solutions and reporting it:-)Hopefully we will find a work around to continue playing. It would be interesting I guess to gather more info on the performance of the different solutions (crossover, playonmac, parallel) depending on the hardware. I would expect bootcamp to have the best perf overall but for the others I don't know. From reading the last posts none seems perfect but hardware is not always mention and as someone mention Intel vs. M1 as well as the rest of the mac perf will have an impact. As someone playing on a mid 2014 macbook pro with just intel graphic I don't expect any of these solutions to work smoothly but who knows :-) the mac client (64) was running relatively ok for me at least I was able to play PVE with no issue. I just purchased GFN for 6 months to try it out (I have VDSL2 connection) it works most of the time, very smoothly and with no lag - very impressed tbh and far better than mac client in terms of fps. My only concernes as for the service is a lack of sharpness (especially for text) and contrast. The biggest issue is the internet connection: if someone else in the house uses internet the alert icon saying the connexion is unstable is alway on (and Red lol) and the game is unplayable. Hopefully optic fibre is on the way in a couple of months so it could be better...
  4. Oh yes remember this one:-) at one point I was in underwear lol!!
  5. -New skins (weapons/armor) matching Cantha style:-)New Weapon's type :-)Great axe, crossbow, shuriken-like, halberd, (land) spear, land trident with nest (gladiator style:-))...-New e-spec linked to that-Boats (come one that would be cool:-), Com at the wheel, others at canons against other ships or a Kraken/Bubble champ)-HOT meta event style with more map story like on POF (talking NPCs, deep History, lots of small infos that make the world real, full of and ancient stuff). I liked HOT settings but to me as it was a large jungle, the History/cultural life on map was limited. For Instance Tarir is cool looking, love the design, but the exalted are not very talkative:-), you can run the corridors but it misses life. In Amnoon or other villages/location in POF in the contrary it seems ancient and full of life you can get this sense thanks to info from npcs, side quests, cemetary, markets, outpost...-Underwater mount/content (combat rework) ?(yet, if Cantha, we expect a lot on land so filling under water content could be risky...or they rather have to go big in terms on maps/content production!! like 5 maps POF size+1-2 "bonus" maps with underwater)-Dungeons....-a faction system
  6. Yeah would be great indeed, got 1 of them by "chance", like 2 years ago...still waiting for the last ones.
  7. Yep +1 for book storage.I would prefer novelty like tab but home instance is fine too
  8. In fact when I bought it there was 2 options possible with or without the Nvidia GT750M. At that time I still had a windows laptop I used for GW2 (it is dead now), so I took the MBP without the nvidia GT750 (cheaper by several hundreds of euros). So my MBP only has the Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB, no Nvidia gpu and switching. If I had it I think the graphic would be prettier and it would be less jerky at time. I have never investigated external gpu as mentioned in the thread but it could be a cool idea indeed. Of course it would make more sense if anet was making a clear statement on the future of the mac client: plan for full 64bit? and maybe move to metal? :-) (Of course I have no idea of resources needed for such work...).I don't know the percentage of player having a mac but I think I remember a post from someone at anet saying that lots of their own employees where using mac...don't know if it is still the case... The waiting time and priority is clearly linked to that mac player percentage unfortunatly...
  9. Hello all,I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB and 2,2 GHz Intel Core i7 + 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. I'm still running Sierra so far, haven't moved to High Sierra following the issues reported here. And as long as GW2 will not be fixed 100% for 64bits I will not move to Catalina. GW2 runs relatively smoothly with High to medium settings (with 1 or 2 low) with 10 to 25fps. By relatively I mean it can be jerky specifically when it is crowdy (LA) but not always, World boss are usually smooth for instance. Of course the graphic are not as pretty as it should with a dedicated GPU but it is playable. I have been playing since 2014 and I haven't feel limited or hindered by it. For the last 12 months I have only experienced 1 or 2 crashes/freeze (and I connect almost everyday).Only complain so far: when I mount I usually stay stuck in the ground for like 10 to 15 seconds, specifically when I arrive in a new location and all graphic are not all loaded properly it seems. And yes, would be nice to have an update from Anet about the mac client.... Hope it helps
  10. I voted "other" but yes I agree with you, Library would be cool but rather than as a home instance, I would prefer to have a Open World library. I'm thinking of a huge one , maybe somewhere in the mountains and run by some priory or other obscur order. It would be both a way to deliver and centralise lots of lore and story through the new book UI (old and new content could be updated regularly) and a place to socialise for lore geeks (thinking of sofa, terraces) and others (specific vendors...). We could even imagine some new activities/events/festival/adventure/quests system(pick the most appropriate :-) ) around it, why not some treasure hunting with maps, ciphers, and riddles hidden in books. They could also use it to provide lore content such as they did with the Requiem parts. Of course there could be some private instances as well for Story or access our own books in a private "vault". Such Library would be great I guess. For me that would be first with Underwater/boats in second, I know they have lots of stuff to fix but I'm sure they could do great things with that. I'm sure an expansion with like 30-40% of water content, a reworked water combat and boats combat (like big ones we could manoeuvre thanks to the mastery systems for meta-events) and the rest inland could be a great expansion.
  11. Dear Anet team, Don't know if it has been mention but a comfortable armchair for reading would be nice and immersive. Think Estate Plush Armchair in DR or a British club library leather armchair or some sort:-)-Also a camp fire would be nice and fun:-) Thanks
  12. Yes, +1 on this. I'm really sorry for all the players that still encounters bad experience on the new 64 client and hope Anet can find a quick fix but for me it is day and night between the 32 and 64.I have been able to increase some of the graphic settings , resolution is 1680x1050 and it is very enjoyable so far. Of course graphic are not perfect as I run the game on the Intel chipset (on a mid 2014 MBpro) and not a dedicated Nvidia card so it is not as good as it could be. Nevertheless and most importantly for me, the game is very stable. On the 32 version it was almost impossible to complete a large event like Tequatl, Jormag, or Jungle wurms without crashing 4 times at least. Now I can just play without stress... Of course fps is lower than the 32b, about 30-35 when standing in front of something "still" and usually around 18-24 when fighting, but strangely it seems more fluid/smoother than on the 32. Also I have noticed since my last post on the other thread that buying/selling things on the Trading Post has improved(it was very slow). The things that needs to be improved yet: It is still a lot "jerky" when moving the full screen map.
