  1. Refreshing to get updates and information, thank you!
  2. If you reduce the size of players on the map with already full servers and links to those full servers that are almost full I can guarantee you that you’re going to have some very (more) angry players. Many players are already waiting hours to get on at reset. All maps are already queued. This is simply a really lousy hotfix to a problem that’s been ongoing for quite some time. And yeah, Alliances. This Is Not The Way
  3. Congratulations Bullyfoot! That is an awesome accomplishment. I have enjoyed and learned from your videos and occasionally (hmm perhaps rarely) kicking HATE’s kitten in WvW ;). Here’s hoping for a long guild life.
  4. At this point, given that we've been asking for this to be addressed for quite some time in the commander/guild leader/dev discord as well as other venues it really comes down to what appears to be a management issue. GW2 Management does not appear to appreciate the unique game mode that they have with WvW or the sheer illogical loyalty of its long time players. Players that keep coming back to the game time and again, hoping for better. When you consider the sheer number of players that log into WvW on reset it is clear that there is a market. So how does a player base get the attention of the game company management to get them to fix something that has made the game that they love almost impossible to play. We have communicated ad nauseam and asked for communication back, which in the case of lag, balance, and really anything that substantially affects game play, has been met with silence. We have indicated (some of us) we support monetizing to a greater degree this portion of the game mode. Most of the WvW players who play on a regular basis would likely even pay a small subscription to have a game mode that is both as competitive as we would like, which its potential calls for, as well as just making it simply playable. (Edit: not to derail the point of the post regarding the terrible lag. Rather just to express how much we want things to get better) I love playing in World vs World. But given that my ability to command a group of players is hampered so significantly by factors outside of my control, as well as not being enjoyable as an individual player, I find myself less and less willing to login. Fix...this
  5. I can understand that sentiment Jayne, I also felt kicked in the gut reading this. I have lost loved ones in the game, and made life long friends. We had an entire server hold a funeral procession for a server member and raise funds for his funeral. Game communities are often more to us than our "real life" communities. I know many of us spend more time "here" than anywhere else. Because I love this game, and the community I play on, and the guild I helped create, and the friends I have made here (even those no longer on TC), I will hold out to see how this turns out. And hope to make things better for those I can play with. F L Ö Guild Leader/Commander Valkyrja Söngur [ODIN], a Tarnished Coast Server Admin
  6. Alliances don't change unless you change them. Alliances are groups of guilds that want to play together. They will be limited in size but will remain together as long as the members of the alliance want. The reality is. Small guilds will suffer. Large guilds will dominate and it will be nothing but a zerg fest with little in the way of strategy. As well, people have more than one guild for a reason. A person may have a havoc guild, a fight guild, etc. They will now be curtailed to a specific style of play. How will you "evaluate"? Newer players will be at disadvantage. It also raises the issue of: does total guild member count towards how much "space" a guild takes up in an Alliance? What if a guild is 100+ people but has an active wvw of 25? Are they counted as 100? Will they have to kick friends/retires/folks on break just to meet the threshold to join their alliance? If only the active folks count, what stops BG or any other server from having people go "dead" for a while before relink, stack an alliance, then exceed the limit? Resistance Is Futile I would like to support this, but I cannot in it's current configuration.... Anet do better F L Ö Guild Leader/Commander Valkyrja Söngur [ODIN], a Tarnished Coast Server Admin
  7. I realize that many servers no longer feel they have an "identity". That is not, I feel, the case for Tarnished Coast and some other servers I know of. Some people have been on their server since day one, have friends across guilds and have a history. Although "something" needed to be done with WvW I am sad to think that all the people we play with here will be dispersed to the winds. Even stating they can be in an "alliance" with alliances changing from season to season, makes the continuity of community null. Baby, bathwater..... 8. I know these people. Dangerous and exciting, bearded and fierce, and baconey. F L Ö Guild Leader/Commander Valkyrja Söngur [ODIN], a Tarnished Coast Server Admin, TC Council
