In game, i purchased Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic which suppose to do 100% chance of salvaging upgrade as stated, but it never did for Runes and Sijil that i bought it for. It is a bug.  Could you fix it or refund me?

It's not a bug, it has a 100% chance of salvaging upgrades, not recovering upgrade.

All salvaging kits except the Black Lion and the ascended kit work like this, they salvage the rune or sigill automatically (with the chance statet in the description) too.

If you bought it recently, you can still open a support ticket and ask for a refund. If you tell them you undestood the description wrong, maybe they will help.

Yep, I see that Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic  as a misleading rip off too. The way it's worded, you expect to get back runes an sigils whole. That's what I expected. I was talking to someone in a map chat the other day, who was arguing with me that a wiki page was clear about something in game. Well, to me it was clear as mud. I think this is one of those times.

Exactly, its statement of 100% salvage upgrade is misleading.  After all Sijil and Rune are upgrade that is to be placed in upgrade slot in armor/weapon.  If this is not bug?  then it would be ..... scam?

I bought it recently, after few tried and lost my upgrades, I realized it and make a report to customer support, but they refer me here to post it as bug so developer team can assess the case.   After all, Sijil and Rune are regarded as upgrade see: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Upgrade_component

I hope they should indicate 100% salvage upgrade (not including Sijil, Rune ......), so it is a bug to me.

It is not a bug read what it says on black lion salvage kits that do give you the upgrades mate.

It says: "100% chance of salvaging upgrades."

When you salvage an item using any of the Salvage Kits available in the game, and I mean any item, any kit, what happens to the item?

Salvaging is the process of destroying something to gain some materials from it. The description is accurate.

Destroying the salvaged item is fine.  The point is it does not salvage the Sijil and Runes, don't you get it???

When you salvage a rune, you destroy the rune and turn it into lucent motes and charms. The approximate amount can be seen here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune/salvage_research

The Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic does exactly that. It destroys the rune alongside the item it is contained in and turns it into lucent motes and sometimes a charm. You can try this by salvaging some cheap greens (make sure they have runes). You will have lucent motes in your inventory.

From your comments, I guess you expected to recover the runes when salvaging. That's something you need to use a Blacklion-Salvagekit for. Pay attention to the different wordings of these salvaging tools: One of them says it recovers runes and sigils, the other says it salvages runes and sigils.

You can also try buying a few cheap runes and sigils on the TP. Use any salvage kit on them and you'll receive lucent motes.

What a misleading description of "100% salvage upgrade".

What happens when you "salvage" an item? It breaks it down into materials. Did it not "salvage" the upgrade just like it said it would?

You can request a refund by contacting support - they'll ask you to delete the item to confirm. That said, this kit is the most profitable one to use for masterworks.

Yes, the  the wiki explains it correctly.  However, when I bought it from Black Lion Trading post, I read the description and expect I can salvage rune and sijil as whole.   That is why the wording is a scam if it is not regarded as wrong description/bug.

When salvage gems upgrade, it did 100% salvage gems, but when salvage sijil/runes, it gave you Lucent Motes and never for any sijil/rune , i would not agree this is 100% salvage upgrade.

I did write to support, however, they asked me to post here to get developers attention it as bug.  But then, no single reply from developer so far.

The kit doesn't salvage gemstone, because gemstones can't be salvaged, that's the difference.

The description may not be the best, but it's not a bug. It is the same description the other salavage-o-matics and kits have too (excl. BL- & asc. Kit).

So, if you want a refund, ask the support and tell them you were misled by the description, maybe you will get one. Waiting for a dev response won't help much, as it's unlikely you will get one, especially for a bug that isn't one.

Thanks for sharing.  I would regard misleading description is a bug though.

I don't see it as a bug, because it's the same description the other kits have, but that's only my opinion.

It's also not the first time I see, that someone is misled by the description, so a more precise wording may really help.

Good to hear that the support helped you with the refund.

OP is confused between 'salvage' and 'recover'.  Salvage Kits (sans Black Lion Salvage Kits) do salvage everything for crafting materials, just as they state they do.  Only one salvage kit, Black Lion Salvage Kit, states there is a chance (100%) for recovering an upgrade.

It's not a bug, and there will never be a Dev post about it.

You didn't salvage the gems. You salvaged the item that contained them. You recovered the gems, which are not salvageable, to begin with.

Gemstones are crafting materials, and like other basic crafting materials, can not be salvaged down further.

Again, OP is confused about salvaging and crafting materials.

I just can't imagine how they must have used Master's/Mystic Salvage Kits before that have 80% chance of salvaging upgrades and never wondered how they still did not get any upgrades unharmed? But Runecrafter's says 100%, so the rest of the words suddenly mean something else?

Really wish I read this thread before buying this Runecraft's kit, would have just stuck to the silver and copper feds.
Oh well...I should have guessed this since they sell upgrade extractors. Impulse buy on my part.

Has it been more than 30 days? If not, you can ask for a refund from the CS Team.
