It was a trash seasonal item, but as it's craftable, you can use it for research notes acquisition, so the value increased. 1

I really do not know anything about research notes. It will be cheaper in future or it is permanent now? Is it ok for devs to kill food? 1 2

That's not the level of price that somehow "kills the food" though. 1 1

Also, from what i see, the price per point is already dipping. It was well above 1s at its highest point. 2 1

Hence... the price change. Edited June 13, 2022 by Sobx.1758 2 1
Schimmi.6872
The content of Presents and ToT-Bags was changed after EOD and the food and utility items were removed (most likely because of the research notes). So as the main sources for the cheap festival food and utility items are gone, the prices went up. 3

ruikarikun.9402
Devs did it to drain gold or they just want only elitists use food? 2g daily, 5+ days to buy single stack of food for only one character. Trash, scam. 2

Trash, scam. 10 gold (5 through buy order) for a stack that lasts 125hours combined isn't "just for elitists". Maaaybe if you're popping them like candies for no reason while not really actively playing, at which point... why? Sorry, but in reality that's rather easly sustainable. Not that this is some must-have effect to use while playing the game in the first place. Edited June 14, 2022 by Sobx.1758 3 1

This scam when devs decide to delete cheap food. Also what about "Simple Sharpening Stone"? It is not festival item,. look at the price for years from 2014 to february 2022 https://www.gw2spidy.com/item/9433 Why it became x4 expensive wtf??? And then what happened? Wtf it is scam after years on such items like food or utility. Edited June 14, 2022 by ruikarikun.9402 add 2 5

Something you need for jade bot cores, modules and legendary weapons in the newest expansion. Thats why it have gone up in price, if it is to high go out gather and craft them yourself.

Wtf it is scam after years on such items like food or utility. It's not any "scam" and it's nowhere near to being a gamebreakingly high price. Tbh at this point I'm just confused about what point overally you're trying to make. Pretty sure at no point of me playing this game I've cared about "simple sharpening stones". Why do you suddenly care about them? And why did you already completely avoided what you've quoted about the time it will take for you to use the earlier linked utility buff? Are you just looking for something to complain no matter what or do you need any of these utility effects for anything? For one (well, "another one", following what was written above in the previous posts about these effects just... not being needed and still not having somehow an unsustainable price): why do you care so much about this https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Simple_Sharpening_Stone when for example this https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hardened_Sharpening_Stone exists? All research notes did was turn absolute trash items that mostly didn't even sell for their vendor price into something that... actually has some worth, even if it's not for the reasons you'd like it to be. I don't think there's much more to add here, these basic/cheap effects are just meh in general, but no matter how many new "extremely-cheap-unneeded-and-overally-undesired-in-the-past items" you'll link, the response is exactly as it was in the previous posts since the start of this thread. No amount of repeating "scam!" will change anything or influnece it in any way. Good luck finding the food/utility effects you want/need. Garrison Storm.3046
The other consideration is to extend your food/utilities using Primers, as that takes the buff to 12 hours, which is pretty substantial... I wouldn't use them non-stop as the primers themselves are not easy to acquire (assuming you're not interested in purchasing through the gem store), but if you plan your activities to maximize the benefit then you're essentially getting 6-24 food items (depending on their initial duration, 30min to 2 hr) under the primer. Equating the value of the two Black Lion Statuettes for the primer, versus the cost of the extra food would be based on your preference and number crunching, but might be worth looking into. Best of luck. 1
