Zuulforrest.5791
https://i.imgur.com/YOaVZTd.jpg How do I get rid of the mastery point level up notification? I currently have 3 mastery points. My Pact Commander is 3/5 and full XP and requires 5 mastery points to train to the next level. I didn't want to waste XP, so I switched to Fractal and XP capped it, then switched to Legendary Crafter that I'm on now and XP capped it. (Both 0/4) I do not want to level Crafter or Fractal!!!!!! (To be honest I don't even know what a Fractal is) I am saving the points towards auto loot, which should be a core game feature but whatever. It won't let me switch back to Pact Commander now, which would probably make the notification go away as it did when I capped its XP before swapping to the other lines in the first place. A quick 15 minute google perusing reveals this complaint dates back as far as 2017! What the heck?! Does anyone know how to turn this crap off? It pops up every single time I gain XP, which is like every 5-10 seconds. I can't even see the chat box anymore, it's driving me nuts. Am I really going to quit the game over a UI annoyance? I'm going to be stuck with this for a good while yet until I get enough mastery points to finish Pact Commander. EDIT: Oh yeah, I read in a few other posts that it was required to complete the HoT and/or PoF prologue stories to make this go away, both of which I've done so that's not it. Inculpatus cedo.9234
Whilst you obtain some more Mastery Points, you can move the Chat Panel to the top of the screen, so the 'reminder' doesn't interfere. If pulled upwards it will attach itself to the top left of the screen.

Silent.6137
This is a constant annoying feature: notification pop-ups. Not just for mastery but for many other things as well. Why there's no option to turn them all off, especially for veterans who have seen them 100's of times is just mind-boggling. A few examples: Gang war meta - you click on NPC for Juvenile Siege Turtle Aid at 2 different locations and you get pop-ups every single time you do that meta. DE Meta - Pop-ups when you do the sub-bosses. After doing that meta a few times, I think everyone is aware of what the special skill is for. And pop-ups when you get Juvenile Siege Turtle aids for an event as well. Edited September 2, 2022 by Silent.6137 1
Endaris.1452
No EXP is ever lost, even if you don't actively change the mastery you're working on. If you didn't change it, the game would have automatically redirected the EXP to masteries that still needed to be trained and once all are at max EXP, the EXP is then instead redirected to earn yourself spirit shards (same as if you had masteries maxed out). I made a list here with suggestions for which mastery points are easy to get:https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/120766-anet-mastery-point-redistribution/?do=findComment&comment=1746960
Zuulforrest.5791
Thanks for the replies guys. The only reason I switched to a different track was because the game told me the XP would be wasted if I didn't initially select a mastery when they first became available to start leveling, so I assumed I had to have one active that could receive XP. 57 minutes ago, Endaris.1452 said: No EXP is ever lost, even if you don't actively change the mastery you're working on. Already bookmarked. Very frustrating. I've been playing for a week with the Steam launch and thus far this has been my only major gripe about the game. For someone who is fairly detail oriented who is easily distracted by things on the screen, (I have to move my mouse cursor into the corner on the second monitor so I can't see it when watching a video or I go insane) a flashing notification in the corner of the screen every few seconds is infuriating. I guess I'll have to deal with it until I get a little further in the main storyline so I can spend some points. Ugh. 1

Yeah, this is misinformation by now. It used to be that way when the mastery system was first introduced but it was changed some year(s) afterwards. Probably forgot to update their texts.
SinisterSeven.2781
ya, this was absolutely spammy. valid point, and the constant 'click here to find out how' gets old after the first one. a checkbox to cancel these would be key. when one wishes to slave away grinding mastery points out of the story, they most certainly will. they would not need the game to act like a 90's era popup advertisement on windows 95 lol.
Blue D Phoenix.7260
Once every line is full in core or any mastery track, there's no need to switch between the lines, all you need is to use your MPs. Meaning there's no more training, you already trained in all the lines. Edit - I don't know if this works, but I think there's an option in settings to turn of ingame "help", don't know if it's for tutorial or just all help. Try it. Or just check yt for a video on all the setting options. Edited September 3, 2022 by Blue D Phoenix.7260
