Matchmaking should take number of matches played into account, not just raw rating. Also, PvP population is so low this can't be implemented anyway and even if it could, ANet clearly doesn't remotely care about PvP anymore.

Agreed on all counts. The population is low and dropping, yeah, but that shouldn't be an excuse to not do anything.

If anything that should serve as a sign to our benefactors that something has gone terribly wrong, and they should make an effort to correct it, but they won't. Too busy working on the next balance patch in time for this Wintersday. That is the only kind of attention sPvP gets, and a lot of people have somehow deluded themselves into thinking that's the only kind of attention it really needs.

I definitely think the the matchmaking is suboptimal. However, FWIW, the matchmaker does in fact take into account how many games you have played (among a bunch of other things):
