Greymantle.9168
Unless I missed something, there seems to be no Deluxe/Ultimate version of the new expansion? Missing the discounted gems/shared inventory slot is what I'm looking at the most. 1
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Same as before; nothing different this time. You can purchase the Deluxe Upgrade in the Gem Store, but there will never be a way to get the Ultimate Edition with discounted Gems on Steam. SarajielKikiVelika.4952
The Ultimate Edition with the discounted gems has always been ArenaNet exclusive, even outside of Steam. None of the official GW2 retailers carry it. 38 minutes ago, Inculpatus cedo.9234 said: You can purchase the Deluxe Upgrade in the Gem Store The upgrade to the Deluxe Edition will cost you an additional 5€ since it's 2400 gems (30€) compared to the Deluxe Edition SKU.
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Yep; unfortunately ArenaNet won't see that revenue since Valve takes its 30%.
Ashen.2907
That is the downside to purchasing via a third party that takes a large portion of the purchase price.

You may be confused about what a Deluxe Upgrade provides. It adds the extra items to your account; it doesn't include the expansion. Upgrade your Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure edition to Digital Deluxe and receive the following in-game items: Additional Character Slot Identity Repair Kit Astral Ward Feathered Raptor Skin "Magic Juggle" Emote Tome Items will be delivered next time you log in. — In-game description

Danikat.8537
All versions include a shared inventory slot. It's not a Deluxe Edition item, because it's used to give you the level 80 boost, which is included in the standard edition.

Clearing up potential confusion: It still doesn't change the fact that buying SotO Standard Edition SKU (24.99 €) plus the gem store upgrade to the Deluxe Edition (2400 gems = 30 €) is 5 Euro more expensive than buying the SotO Deluxe Edition SKU (49.99 €). It' the same pricing for ANet's own shop and the official retailers like Amazon. It's somewhat understandable that folks are a bit annoyed by the fact that Steam doesn't offer the SotO Deluxe Edition SKU. The difference in processing costs & store fees might be a factor, but unless you have an ANet source for that, your guess is as good as mine when it comes to the reasons why Steam doesn't carry a SotO Deluxe SKU. Keep in mind that Amazon doesn't sell software keys for free for ANet either. IIRC, retailers typically take a 10% - 15% fee for software keys, although Amazon might offer better conditions for larger businesses like ANet/NC Soft. Inculpatus cedo.9234
Wasn't being condescending; I just misunderstood your pricing statement. My bad.
SarajielKikiVelika.4952
No worries I have to admit that I'm a bit confrontational since pre-ordering SotO. It's been fine for my ANet-accounts, but Steam was/is a mess for me and the CS team being clueless doesn't help either. 2
