Eddie.9143
"Summon an energy barrier that causes enemy projectiles to heal upon impact. Allies that pass through the wall gain boons." So there is nothing about blocking, the projectiles aren't "blocked" by the wall, the wall should convert the un-blockable projectiles to healing, essentially cancelling out the damage instead of healing. for a 25 second cooldown to be completely nullified by a virtuoso hitting you after dodging...not okay. the rest of the druid kit has no blocks or worthwhile damage reduction aside from signet of stone, which doesn't always fit so well into druid builds. basically - make staff 5 do what the tooltip says. bruakumfd.4817
I haven't use the Druid staff that much despite maining a few over the years. So, I appreciate this good catch and wholeheartedly agree.
Zyreva.1078
Any sort of projectile denial is countered by unblockable. And there is no need to make an exception for druid staff. Edited July 27, 2023 by Zyreva.1078
Soilder.3607
It's functionally a block that then converts the projectile to healing. This is also how reflects work. They are blocks that send the projectile back to the caster. With the amount of anti-projectile skills that have been added to the game since launch, there need to be ways to counter them. Virtuoso happens to be one of, if not the best ranged spikers in WvW and PvP right now. They have a very easy to access source of unlockability that happens to synergize very well with Bladesong Harmony. So in that regard they may seem a little oppressive with how frequently they can spike hard with unlockable projectiles. But that's not an issue with unlockable skills at large, just one with a profession that might be.overperformimg.
Eddie.9143
Well, either way, the spell is trash, make unblockables heal, or lower the cd by 5 seconds and give it regen boon

Beddo.1907
If anything, they'd update the text. All projectile hate effects work the same with unblockable.

Potential to heal if you land the 5,3 combo and you're not interrupted or CC'd during it. Then you have to stand in your water field to blast or leap any other combos. Why are we acting like 5 seconds Regen on a 25 second CD is worth mentioning lol

I am sure it was still converting unblockable projectiles not too long ago. After the patch that improved druid (the one adding instant druid CA 2 in october 2022) I played it a full season in PvP and was still converting every projectile (including virtuoso). If it got changed they should increase the height of the skill as you just need to walk 1 meter on stairs to shoot above it (and the healing conversion is less than the damage if it was a reflect).
