  1. Vs most willbender avoid fighting inside the F3. This aoe gives them all the freedom they need to freecast because they will get aegis and stab. It means running away from the node or using block / invuln then trying to pressure them. I prefer to run / evade because blocks can be useful for their other skills. Usually they will have a way to invuln + reset F3 meaning fights are going to take a long time even if they are running a glass build. If they want to run away it usually means that they use their F skills which is a good news for your team because they used important cd. Mace rangers are all about getting into close combat to stack. Mace 5 stacks only at the end so you need to evade that. The best option is to have a build that can kite / blind or evade easily preventing the cc and the stacks. Your core power war build is not going to be equipped for that. Condi berserker would be better thanks to the bow and multiple defenses and spellbreaker would also have more options.

  3. Did you come back recently? You are not forced at all to go to pvp. You can choose which game modes you want to have the next day (or week if you pick it on Sunday). Just click on the gear icon next to "Daily" and untick the box saying pvp.
  4. I think all professions are good in ranked. With that said I have a hard time understanding why people do not vote for necro which is amongst the professions with smallest amount of variant and is the least impactful / meta.
  5. I think it won in NA. Roy stream said EU but he swapped to NA if I am not mistaken. I have not played the past 2 weeks but in EU it was not that popular yet. I only saw Erazik playing it.
  6. Sorry I did not understand your question so I hope this will answer. The decay starts 72hours after the last game played. So if some duos played their last games after reaching plat on Friday at 23h then they would get hit by the decay on Monday at 23 which is just a few hours before the end of the season regardless of how many games they had and their winrates. It could explain why someone was in the top 250 just a few hours before the season ended and suddenly disappeared.
  7. I noticed the same thing. The last 3 days (maybe even more) we had top 250 in plat. The bottom of top 250 usually has a lot of people with really close ranking but today there are 30 pts between the 250 and 245. It would mean that around 30 people dropped or got hit by the decay (or got banned but it seems less likely). Technically it is possible that people drop since they can forget about the decay and many high rated players have their main account on submarine mode (with less than the required amount of games until the last day) and can kick lots of people the last day. Still this is not an ordinary situation.
  8. They do care. Just look at the patch notes and the streams. We know the team is small but they do put the work. A good amount of the balance is made for PvP. They really try to have every profession be viable and a lot of weapon variety. By definition not everything can be meta but right now a lot of playstyles are strong. When it comes to balance streams they also focus on showing the functionality rather than the numbers which appeals more to PvP / WvW. If you take a look at the people commenting during the stream, a good amount are interested in PvP / WvW and they know that. We even had Roy stream the last few Mat. Finally I think the idea “we need something new” often seen around the forums just brings nothing. What we have works. They tried some things during hot / pof but most ended up restricting builds / professions way too much for my taste and some things I liked (like Djinn's dominion) were not appreciated by most people so they might not want to invest a lot into things that split the community.
  9. I will try to complain about the status of hDruid in PvP as little as I can 😾. I agree with @Gotejjeken.1267. Your weakest point is going to be survivability. Druid does not bring enough defensive options. Even when CA is up you cannot outheal the damage on your allies or yourself. In general people go for WS because it brings a lot of extra ways to survive (protection + dmg reduction or cleanse + heal + dodge). I could see maces with WS but you decided to not use it meaning Gs or sword (with dagger or wh) with smokescale are a must. You need more defensive utility (like signet of stone / Protect me! [aoe stunbreak for your allies]). The more you survive the more you waste people's cd and can try to rez (even under stealth). I think glyph of alignment can be a viable strategy if you want to lean toward the offensive support and bring more cc / immob because waiting for the CA form (which is strong) leaves a lot of windows for your opponents. For example you can pick eclipse, entangle, jacaranda as having only 1 source of immob is usually not enough to keep people in place. In some cases an immob druid will be better than a support one but this is never guaranteed. You can also pick signet of renewal if you want a stunbreak + another cleanse. Just keep in mind that your pet needs to be close when you use it.

I think it was made with the idea that being more interesting with a (small) heal would increase its pick rate. The reason it was not picked was not the effect being weak, in fact it was an amazing cleanse! The main reason it was not picked is “Nature Magic”. Nature magic does not bring much to a roamer or a dps build. What is left are support build which want to support so they usually pick something else and try survive with WS + other ways to actively dispell if needed (not always from core ranger). Mace (PvE) damage nerf makes sense. Force of Nature (PvE) : it needed to be nerfed but I was thinking 15%. Going down to 10% seems like a lot. I will be waiting for the people using it in raids / benchmarks to tell because so far I only used it in Open World and PvP. Just based on numbers that I see on the tooltip: Carnivore : 3k siphon on cc in PvE? Damm this sounds broken. Around 600 in Pvp sounds really good too with this small icd Survival Instinct 10% buff : this is a surprise. Let’s find out if this is too much or not Core power ranger might not be one of the 3 worst power build in PvE anymore. I want to give it a try before anything happens. (Edit : my first few attempts on the golem looked slightly better but I did not improve as much I first expected.)
  11. I have not seen any in ranked and I have not played it yet so I am not sure how strong it is. I think I saw Frae play it on Boyce’s stream. When condi chrono was meta (with czerker) it was used in mAt for the tankyness it provided to hold nodes and even replace a support in teamfights but was not that popular in ranked. I would not be surprised to see that it has some solid utilities but I need to see how it plays out.
  12. There is also dagger mirage. I hate this ambush and every patch I wonder when it will change. Thankfully it does not seem that popular and is more tolerable than in WvW (but I really hate the daze spam). I do agree that it does not have more cc. What gives this impression is shattered concentration especially on builds with a high cd on stab.
  13. While I am happy to see a possible third difficulty for future content and a commitment to keep challenging content I see 1 major issue -> balance seems almost hard locked. It looks super super tight. All composition use virtuoso only. This means that it cannot be nerfed in the future when it is has been a dominant force for a while OR that other professions will get massive buff and break previous content. (EDIT : OR hope that a new strat emerges in the future)
  14. True. It has less utility than a tempest or a firebrand but when combined with already heavy defensive specs like spellbreaker and instant healing / dispel it really makes fights long. I also have been surprised to see it on a lot of duelist build and by the damage it has.
  15. I wanted to prepare a PvP arena for a small PvP tournament and another one where people would have a fixed build for an event like the PvP during festivals. I logged on my warrior which has been a pvp character only and activated the guild hall PvP balance. This warrior is lvl 44. I realized this: My skills were all grey / not unlocked : I only had access to the PvE skills I had previously unlocked My health was 6k : No gear change in the PvP equipment panel did affect my health meaning I was using my PvE gear I asked a friend to come in with a lvl 80 character, activate the PvP balance, take a different team. I auto him for 9 hp. He auto me for 4.5k hp. Based on the tooltip (and the small test I did with some cc skills) it seems like the cd and coefficient are correctly adapting. I do not know if this is a bug or something missed or something that cannot happen because all the game modes are selectable at the same time in the same instance. Edit : testing on a lvl 80 ranger full berserker I see that changing from PvE to PvP / WVW changes my hp from 18k to 16k because the jade bot effect gets disabled but the amulet still has no effect. The relic triggering was the PvE relic Edit 2 : channeled agony (downstate 5) is accessible but this is a minor issue. Edit 3 : Food like birthday cake changed my hp
  16. It definitely is a fun weapon with some potential. It has some defense, cc and the moment I get the buff I just want to shout in front of my screen. While it has a lot of things that sound individually strong it has some heavy weaknesses that impact its effectiveness in a real game. Most of your damage and ability to fight comes from mace 5 which has long channel. It makes it very easy for people to avoid, prepare a blind / block to make you miss or interrupt you. Mace 2 seems to miss a lot which also means fewer stacks. It has a 0.75s animation and there is something like an additional 0.75s delay before the explosion. Most people will not take the second part of the damage and if you want to track your opponent you will miss the healing / boon part. Because you can miss stacks so easily you often find yourself chasing people around but you are not exactly mobile or having that much kill potential. If you play it for a few ranked games you will have fun and turn some fights because when you can land everything it feels good but you will also be surprised to see builds dancing around you or just not caring.
  17. Or you are making a mountain out of something that is just “ok” and are not used to yet. It is decent but it will struggle vs any mobility and range. Edit : The 1s stab also does not improve the matchup vs cc heavy builds since the rest of the kit has long animations.

Indeed there is a 9s icd that you can see if you mouse over the trait : Let Loose - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W) This is inferior to the standard weapon swap cd (10s) and the ambush icd is 9s (Unleashed Power - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W)) it should not be a problem (unless you use relic of the warrior which will mess up the timing). As stated above you have to use 2 ambushes before swapping in PvE. Let’s say you use hammer + sword axe for the power quickness build from snowcrows. You start the fight on hammer then go : pet unleash -> unleash ranger -> hammer ambush weapon swap -> sword ambush -> use bunch of skills -> when you can weapon swap start pet unleash -> unleash ranger -> sword ambush weapon swap -> hammer ambush -> use bunch of skills -> when you can weapon swap start pet unleash -> unleash ranger-> hammer ambush I checked and it still works. Edit : I realize that maybe you are talking about PvP where untamed has different icd for ambush refresh (15s instead of 9s))Unleashed Power - Guild Wars 2 Wiki (GW2W)which does not allow the same rotation. Let Loose is still 9s in PvP.
  19. Improve the pet selection screen. For example separate them into families or add a new text search bar to filter pet by : orginal name (juvenile fern hound) nickname (good boy) family (canine) archetype (supportive)
  20. I thought it would be fun to try to build an arena today (with racetrack and other platforms) to try the new weapons. When I was done I tried my necro wurm and discovered it too. Such a shame 😞
  21. There has not been any untamed in the finals (on EU) for a while now whereas there have been some cata. Also cata fa has more mobility than untamed. Both specs are good but have been slightly below what others brought for mat but versatile enough for ranked.
  22. I explained multiple times why it does matter. You have less opportunities to combo and in PvE it is better to have a constant dispell than a quick one. Also read my first message : It is a MASSIVE NERF! How can you not see that? Either you did not play it enough or did not read my explanations on why it will matter. It is slower giving time for the enemy to reapply condi (making the 1 cleanse useless since you always remove the same one) meaning you take more damage, it cleanses less and gives you no opportunity to go in / out. Play it after the patch to tell me how good it feels (and not just 1 unranked game, go play 10-15 games)
  23. Oh ok. I do not really play WvW so I was thinking PvE / PvP where this is a huge nerf. It might be more consistent but if I have to guess 1 condi clear is not going to be impressive.
  24. I am not sure I understand. What do you mean? I do not see change making it better for movement. It still looks like an aoe you drop on yourself and you need to wait. What I meant is that before you would get a higher cleanse faster and if anything went wrong (like you said if you get aoe bombed) you could walk out, wait a few seconds and go back in to get cleanse / water combo.
  25. Spring is a massive nerf. No matter how you look at it. There is a delay between the animation and the trigger of the trap. You wait 1s before you start getting a cleanse. So now you wait 1s to cleanse 1 condition instead of 2. After 3seconds you cleansed 3 instead of 4. After 5 you cleansed 5 instead of 6. And if you could stand longer into it well then this is even worst. You cleanse conditions more often? Sure but you cleanse less meaning they have more time to deal damage or be reapplied meaning you do not cleanse the ones that are actually dangerous. You also cannot go in / out because the duration is lower which also means less opportunities to combo into the aoe.
