Guy.9207
I talked to someone on discord and they pitched me this idea of using Mace Mainhand and Pistol for Bladesworn in an Open World build. I was like, "What?' and they talked about using it as a swap set for CC and blocking, as well as stacking buffs. I didn't seem to have the whole detail but I'm assuming it's running Strength and Tactics, which would make sense because Discipline would over-produce the flow, and Tactics offers a few strike damage modifiers that can be useful, as well as some sustains. They claimed that in OW, you basically just use Dragon Slash to do the killing, so the weapon you equip doesn't really play that much of a role in terms of damage, hence why equipping Mace for utilities seems more logical than say, Axe since you won't be doing a lot with it anyway. What do yall think about this idea?
Aaron.1294
In a perfect world, weapons like this one would exist... But this is not a perfect world

What do yall think about this idea? Its OW. You can run Mace just fine there. You're not going to be top DPS, but you don't have to be. The person is right that DS will be where your big hits come from. You still have Gunsaber on hand for an allrounder set. Taking Mace/Pistol then isn't too terribly bad for OW play. someguy.4107
If a sustainable Bladesworn for OW is what you're after play the Phalanx Strength build. Recommended utilities: Combat Stimulant, For Great Justice!, Whatever you want x2, " ", Battle Standard if your allies need some help or Tactical Reload. Strength: 2-2-2 Tactics: 1or2-3-3 Bladesworn: 1or2-2-2 (You don't need Unshakable Mountain due to duel healing from Might Makes Right + Phalanx Strength. You can take it if you want though) Phalanx Strength + Might Makes Right synergy makes most OW damage you take negligible. If you play with friends you'll find yourself never dropping below 90% HP if you keep attacking. Dragon Trigger with Unyielding Dragon heals you, and refills stamina, for every bullet you charge. You can even make might generation better with foods that grant might on crit and/or using Great Sword. You'll have all the stamina and healing in the world as long as you attack and crit enemies. Having two free utility slots means you can load up CC, defenses, etc. for any situation comfortably. Hope this helps ^^
Red Haired Savage.5430
Open world mace would work fine, you'd have the extra block or a little extra flow. I've actually found running dagger/pistol to be fairly ok for that little bit of extra movement skill, procing brave stride to give myself a bit of stability.
mirage.8046
for open world, any main-hand works. dagger is lovely if you need CC and mobility. sword is also good for passive soft CC and mobility, even better with leg specialist. for the same reasons above, proccing brave stride and even swift as the wind is great (the build feels sluggish without swiftness).
