Fruit.7624
It was so incredibly refreshing and fun playing core builds with the new weapons... You could use both the new weapons released in SOTO, and the elite specialization weapons ! And cmon anet...its just a core account with core builds, being able to use the new up to date weapons is only fair... Core accounts already get access to HoT stat amulets and SOTO relics...why cant we use the new weapons? Edited June 5 by Fruit.7624 1
EnderzShadow.2506
I know it sucks but it wasn't intended. You know that right? I had to buy two expansions to get access to new specs and new weapons etc 1
Terrorhuz.4695
God forbid you pay a developer for the features they worked to implement. It's not like they pay their rent with those features, amirite? Edited June 6 by Terrorhuz.4695 2 1 1
Luthan.5236
I actually think the weaponmaster training for using weapons of all e-specs freely ... should be restricted to SotO. The new core weapons each profession got ... they should have been made free though. (There would be still one thing tied to SotO - the elite weapons thing.) Does not really make the other weapons feel like core profession weapons when you got the option to freely use e-spec weapons anyways when both things are tied to owning SotO (and having that stuff unlocked). Those new weapons could as well have been just weapons for an imaginary non-existand new SotO e-spec then. Not "core" lol. (You wouldn't notice the difference. Unless someone actually jumps to the step where they unlock the new weapons - with skipping weaponmaster training to use e-specs on any profession. If that technically is even possible.) Flowki.7194
Paying is one thing, but when they have aparently made a deliberate effort to ensure core builds cannot compete with specialisations then it adds an essense of pay to win, and also massivively restricts spec choice between or within classes. Why should core builds not be competitive? They should actually be the bedrock, and the specialisations are just that, more power in 1 area at the expense of other areas. At this point, ANet shouldnt even be allowing f2ps to step into sPVP. My core rev build is "good", and thats only due to the access of shortbow/shield. With those weapons, the build is strong enough that it wins condi herald and stale mates condi vindi. Core f2p rev of any sort, wouldnt stand a chance, even if the player was moderately better than me, and thats bs. They just made really strong new specs. I dont think there has ever been a time where core builds do as well as they do now. Core ranger is strong. Support CORE guard is very strong. Core thief. Core necro. I understand your frustration but its ultimately meaningless. It's not going to change. New specs released with new xpacs are usually pretty strong. Its been that way always. Dont fight it, buy an expansion. Problem solved.

Dont fight it, buy an expansion. Problem solved. It isn't meaningless, and I'm not F2p, I have all expantions, and have played all core specs/specialisations. Some are good, most are bad, almost all will not compete with their respective specialisation aside from some unique situations @equal skill levels, in the context of sPVP. Core gaurd is the only real exception, and thats only hinged on the fact it is so easy to play as a support. Yet even now, DH and WB are better in sPVP, support can't carry bad dps.. so its nion a moot point that the only consistant good core spec is a boring (opinion) support that needs a good team to carry it.
