Can I remove and replace Sigils in legendary weapons WITHOUT destroying the legendary weapon?

I am looking to buy my first legendary weapon, but the sigil upgrade is not compatible with my build. I am building a Mirage Condition mesmer, and hope to be buying Frostfang axe and I want to replace the sigil that comes with it with one more compatible with my build. Any advice or suggestions is welcomed.

You can replace runes and sigils on anything without destroying the actual equipment (but the rune/sigil will get lost if its not legendary armor)

The only way to remove a sigil from a legendary weapon is by using an Upgrade Extractor.

But you can put a new one in whenever you want, it will simply overwrite the existing sigil (destroying it), but the actual weapon will be fine.

Yes, but the upgrade component removed is destroyed.Keep in mind that you can also use skins unlocked in your wardrobe. So if you want to hotswap upgradecomponents, e.g. when you change build, get an ascended weapon and put the sigils on it and use the legendary skin,
