Gehenna.3625 Posted October 1, 2018 Share Posted October 1, 2018 Level scaling... quite a surprise if you're not familiar with it.On the upside, level scaling still means you're generally way more powerful because of higher level gear having more stats and you having more powerful skills available. There was a bugged event in, I think, Fields of Ruin that spawned harpies that were level 82. On a level 50-60 map. And the scaling in the game means you can't hit anything that is over 10 levels higher than you (AOE's and such may, but you can't directly hit them). So I go running through that area on a level 80 that was scaled down to 56 or so...and get one-shotted by a harpy. After I got done laughing at everything, I submitted a bug report on it and commented something about 'I enjoy a challenge as much as the next person, but it'd be nice if the mobs that spawn for this event were at least scaled down to something that I can hit. I mean, ya gotta give a guy a fighting chance! :)'I laughed about, laughed with some guildies, and moved on. Couple of months later, it was patched.
