A concern about future narrative (Spoilers Within)

With the conclusion of PoF we've seen something that ultimately worries me as a player who enjoys the story based elements of the game. A never ending escalation of power.

Now then, one could argue that this is needed to promote longevity of the game/franchise. I don't entirely disagree, but i do believe that there needs to be a healthier balance between Universe ending conflicts being more than just a singular Big Bad. As it currently stands we are headed to that place with the now Demi-God Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik.

The Player character a nobody on a heroes journey has faced and defeated with little effort or natural consequence 2 Elder Dragons, One Ethereal Being and A Fallen God. The shock factor alone cannot be the driving force anymore and i do hope we start trending away from the ever increasing stronger villain and more toward the complex/ socially Grey villain whose goal really isn't something world ending.

Morally gray... How about Joko? If you don't count the Bonus Packs from GW1, we've never really fought against him. He's clearly a tyrant, complete with rewriting history in an Orwellian fashion, but in Vabbi, we're mostly aligned with the Awakened, despite the Desolation making them kill us on sight. He's not going to stay in that cage forever, either...

I have the feeling we will soon fight the generals we gathered for the big fight in Kodash.

Since the White Mantle was irredeemably evil, Joko is one of the only chances they have of expanding on the complex villain idea unless they bring in the xenophobic Canthan Empire unless they come up with new characters. They have done this very well inside the Domain of Vabbi zone, with Joko being revered, propaganda everywhere and actually "luxurious" places here and there, but (and this is true for ALL of the other zones and their correspondent story episodes) they have utterly failed at this approach during the main story instances, showing us Palawa Joke instead of Palawa Joko. I also hate how the PC is the walking Durmand Priory of Whispers Vigil and instantly knows all the history of a character dating back thousands of years, or else he/she would not mock Joko so fast as he/she did.

@OP, Mordremoth was actually a very good balance (and now they have missed on this sadly) between Dragon Ball levels of, well, power levels, and leaving you with just enough questions about the right of your own ways. Mordremoth believed he was quite literally the world and that he should be the one to involve everything. And from his perspective one can see how that might actually be true, even more so that his destruction meant unbound magic has gone rampant across the world. If HoT storytelling was a bit better we could have peeked into the mind of a being that has lived a countless amount of lives and come to the conclusion that only itself exists. Who knows maybe we could even have seen, deep inside Mordy's twisted mind, a glimpse of what he used to be before being an Elder Dragon (assuming they have come to be and did not always exist in this state).

They (writers) have drank just enough from the Lovecraft fountain to be annoying. If they want to fix it, they either have to drink even more and go full Bloodborne, exploring how little we really mean in the context of all Tyria/Mists (which would take major balls to do in a MMO), or forget about it and have us convert Elder Dragons into cute Aurene-ish phases so that we can buy the plush dolls alongside our Quaggan and Choya ones.

now is very simple avoid the effect Dragon Ball Z: after killing the Kralkatorric in the next LS, create a pretext to put aurene to "sleep" along with the other dragons and end of the story of dragons and gods. Then appear some pretext for races or clas in Guild Wars to start quarreling with each other, so the thing focuses more on raw war itself. Powerful "magic" or beings should have appear only as ex-machines or twists.
