The Roaring Dragon Glider is too small

I watched the dulfy video and immediately went on spending gold trying to get it, never even crossed my mind that it might be too small as this isn't directly obvious in that preview. The glider does not scale in proportion to your character's size as other skins normally do and so the body is sticking out making it look awkward, it is obviously too small. I get that everyone has personal preferences but don't include dye choices as argument to discussion - if you don't like it, don't buy it but let others enjoy something they put effort into getting. It is similar in mechanic to the Raven so it should be compared to it.

Go read what the topic creator asks for.

Now realize that the raven glider, which was used as reference to size, is already insanely problematic in certain content (say gliding to Xera).

This is not about getting or not getting the glider. It is about how much you get on other people's nerves and are obstructing their gameplay.

Hence why I said: an option to disable other player's gliders is required. Just how other visual clutter needs options to toggle (similar how it was done to sound).

I'm sorry you disagree, but if you want something changed, bring reasonable arguments. "Because I want" is not a reasonable argument which will get a lot of people's support, especially when you are obstructing the vision. Ergo the status quo remains in place.

The only unreasonable argument here is yours - "I dislike the Raven glider therefore you should not change anything in regards to this one" / I provided screenshot evidence where you can definitely see the disproportion in size & scaling. The fact that you dislike these types of gliders in general is not an argument for not adjusting evident proportion issues in this one - and yes, using it yourself does help understand what some of us are saying here. Do you own the glider? Did you even see it in game ? I highly doubt that.

Read again. I didn't say I dislike the raven glider. I actually like it quite a bit.

I said it impairs other people's ability to play the game. Big difference. Now this might not be of interest to you while playing only open world content. The moment where you actually are hindered by a visual effect in content though, that is when I draw the line (and I gave the example of the Xera fight where gliding has an important part).

I'm going to repeat for the third time what I said was my criteria for agreeing to such a change: the ability to toggle off other people's gliders.

Also as mentioned: if you want the ststus quo to change, bring reasonable arguments. Where is the benefit to the game for increasing the glider in size? Especially considering the size ratio demanded.

That's like 0.1% of the whole content, why does it matter? Just tell your group members not to use this glider that's all.

We buy glider skin because it looks cool ,and make it bigger would make it look cooler, simple as that.

It's an example of it actually obstructing gameplay, and not the only occurrence.

Half my screen being covered up by some ones glider isn't desirable in any situation.

It's called an example. The fact that your glider can impair vision of other players and thereby negatively impact their game play would already be reason enough to make all glider skins small.

Again, this has been done for sound and instruments (many people dislike the SAB sounds because they break immersion). If gliders go in this direction more, I am not in favor of any of it unless I get an option to remove the, from my point not affect-able, negative effect.

And I am going to repeat for the last time, it is disproportionate and ridiculous on some characters regarding size/scale.. proportions are way off, character is oversized in comparison. I cannot make it any more simpler than that. I brought plenty of reasonable arguments including screenshot evidence and you continue on your story with Xera and Raven gliders which really should not be linked to fixing a completely different glider. It's not even about making it look cooler, it's about making it look right.

Screenshot evidence is not an argument. It's a state of being showing something, that alone is no argument. Your argument in this case would be that you find that the scale does not fit the character models.

The Xera encounter was an example for my argument (notice the difference) of how huge gliders can impair other players. The Raven glider was mentioned by topic creator as size reference and desire, as such it is the basis of what I am going off size wise.

You complained that people against topic creators idea would lack the actual glider. While maybe true, it does not change the fact that bigger gliders, without the ability to get turned off, will negatively impact other players. Period. There is no arguing this point. That alone is enough for many people to not agree with topic creators idea.

Screenshots are evidence to support the argument which is bloody crystal clear, considering the number of times I repeated it - the glider's proportions are way off in comparison to character size. If you cannot grasp that simple statement then sorry I can't help you there. Please continue with your unrelated examples, this is fairly amusing (and by the way, raven glider never bothered me once, it is translucent and I never found it an issue in any given situation). The fact that some people are bothered by big gliders does not justify in any way screwing up an epic skin with ridiculously looking proportion/size.

Other people affected by a cosmetic item which they have no control over removing, and which might negatively affect their game play experience unlike graphical options from effects and sounds, is a way bigger factor than what your personal subjective feeling is about how something should look.

It is quite literally a main reason because you are not alone in this game.

It's not a good reason, like if I don't like other players get into my screen, I should ask the game to feature a way to not show other players, not to make it a single game.

You can in game modes were this is of actual significance like spvp and wvw. You can literally reduce the amount of models of players AND make them base model and even remove the dye and colors.

It is a good enough reason to people who are not purely selfish.

Other people can find a multitude of reasons to be bothered by/offended/displeased with the world, that does not give them the right to eliminate certain elements for everyone - hence the irony of your statement, it's actually reversed "because you are not alone in this game". Lets sacrifice an awesome skin and squeeze it to ridiculous proportions for those other people who cannot cope with big gliders. It is not a subjective feeling, you can literally see how ridiculous and out of place it looks - or you cannot because you've never seen it but that's a different story.

You can't be seriously comparing personal subjective preference with actual visual impairment. Those are not even on the same level. One is purely subjective, the other is an objective state.

The glider not being the proper size is YOUR PERSONAL OPINION.

Huge gliders making the game less visible is A VISUAL FACT.

EDIT: all I see is that it scales differently to different races. That might be intended due to the size problems of say bigger gliders. Some people might enjoy the size on a charr or norn, you would not be able to tell. It is literally subjective. If the size scales incorrectly, they could also make the glider smaller on humans/sylvari and thus correct the scaling issue.

Read my edit, who says the size on charr and norn is incorrect and not the size on humans/sylvari/azura? Fine, I agree, let them fix the scaling issue. Make the glider smaller on the other races. Problem solved.

The charr looking like an elephant riding a dying stork says so... but at least we agree somewhere, fixing the scaling issue might work. Just that on charr it has to be scaled up a bit (so if they overall increase the size it should fix all races - and no by that I do not mean x2 Raven or other nonsense).

There is a difference between having other players on your screen, and having players stacking 50 infusions with gliders as big as an Airplane cluttering entire events/sequences, actively trolling other players with obnoxious cosmetic effects, which is more and more becoming an issue in this game.

Half my screen being covered up by some ones glider isn't desirable in any situation. If I don't want to see other players on my screen, should I make it a single game?

There is a difference between having other players on your screen, and having players stacking 50 infusions with gliders as big as an Airplane cluttering entire events/sequences, actively trolling other players with obnoxious cosmetic effects, which is more and more becoming an issue in this game.

I don't mind the skin because if they do that it means they love it. Just report the action and forbid that.

This game is mostly about fashion, don't blame on others' desire.
