Boneskinner buffed (fixed) again?

Recommended Posts

So we did a boneskinner again yesterday and the strat where we stack inside his hitbox was not working anymore like it did last time when boneskinner was a weekly strike, is it buffed/fixed again? Couldn't find any patch notes about that.

We still did it with two heals while skipping torch mechanics but i have to say that it was hard this time, took us few tries to get used to dodge the AOEs before we could kill it and get a gold chest. Is torch mechanic something that we should do these days or do players still prefer to skip that?

It couldn't hurt for people to learn to do that mechanic but cheesing it with heals is still viable. People just need to stack and move together so that the AoEs don't go all over the place.

One thing that I wish is that the special action skill from the mastery would not root you. It makes it harder to avoid the AoE's.

Thats true. Maybe its a good thing that pug groups can stack 4-5 heals and cheese it tho, atleast that way its possible for them to complete the encounter. Personally i would like to see a bit better gold rewards as it would encourage players to stack less heals and play with proper composition instead. There would still be option to cheese it but with less rewards. But hey, its not my job to balance the game which is a good thing ?

Imo ignoring torches is still the best way to go with this boss.

Torches will get destroyed permanently as it goes. Doing torches might make healing easier at start but it will probably be the same towards the end when most if not all torches are destroyed. If the healers can't keep the group alive ; its likely to fail, just a matter of when. If its in another game, healers might need to worry about resources/ mana efficiency but here its just cooldowns which makes it way easier.

There are mechanics, but since most of the damage received(Boneskinner's aura) can't be dodged/evaded, its a healing war/ check boss. :frown:

Because players usually wanna get rewarded and atm gold chest is already locked behind a squad composition. But current gold chest offers close to zero rewards.

But increasing rewards wouldn't necessarily affect player/party composition. Players will take the easiest route to the biggest gains.

Torches only get destroyed when players fail mechanics.

Just did the strike with a commander that felt constantly circle strafing the boss at range was a good idea. Made the fight more difficult than it needed to be. Downed players would be left behind and the commander would lead them right in front of the boss and people would take damage from the bosses attacks. DPS also never went above 10K which makes sense considering the fight went almost to enrage. It actually did go to enrage at least one prior attempt at boss.

Please... please...please... don't ever do that strategy.

@DoRi Silvia.4159 said:Skinner , still skipping torches every time. The new easy way is to stack on tag, choosing a rotation... clockwise/ccw and dodge out the same way the tag does so the ground aoe is stackedEither dodge roll the big jump or aegis through and burst...

Easier said than done but if everyone stacks it is kitten easy

Yeah did that yesterday with guild group, worked well.
