to add to this, CC phases will fuck you, canceling skills will fuck you, getting hit will fuck you. you will use your healing skill for damage, if you get hit after that you are fucked as you cant use your heal. etc etc.Mesmer is prone to bullshit. Its hard to judge difficulty as its subjective but if I was to rate it from 1 to 10.Pchrono -> 8/10Psoulbeast -> 3/10Cmirage -> 5/10

Honestly I main chrono and find it not as difficult as people say. It maybe has some steep learning curve at the beginning, but once you master the CS openings (yes there are different ones, not just the one in SC) and shatter timers it will already look good. After you have done your opening, the rotations are quite intuitive and easy, so you have better time to concentrate on raid mechanics instead of searching keys on keyboard. Plus of that chrono doesn't have long animations that lock you in place like soulbeast, which makes it quite safer to play in real raids. Maybe doing a golem rotation with soulbeast is easier, but once you just started doing your LB5 or axe 5 and you see a VG teleport under your feet, you start feeling that soulbeast is not as easy as it seems, while with chrono you can just sidestep while casting your phantasm or something.Yes there are many things to master after, like perfect animation cancels for better openings and more damage, shatter timers that get messy while doing mechanics, dealing with phantasms being dumb, cont split putting you in dangerous places etc... But honestly it is just a matter of habitute like all other classes and has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH PLAYING PIANOS. Quite the opposite actually, what I like about chrono is that it is maybe the better class to channel abilities before the previous one finishes, which leaves you a wider window of error/dps loss. There is just 2 parts of combo that need precision in timing: the moment when you press signet of ether should be precise or delayed if not experienced yet and the Sword 2 which is very easy to do.I have trained many players to power chrono and some of them were completely new to the game. It usually takes about week of practice to be able to play averagely. After that maybe a year or more of practice to achieve the peak mastery. Which maybe is the case for most other classes too.Don't listen to people that scare you off playing chrono. No reason to compare chrono to berserker. Or anything really. Especially when it comes to real raiding. Difficulty of doing rotations is present only while learning rotas, but after that the only difficulty is to do raid mechanics, when those rotas are tattooed in your memory.Go practice your opening a week, you'll be blazing with chrono after.A lil reminder: when you start doing raids especially with unorganized groups you will notice your dps might be off, 1st of all remember you are just learning, so take your time.BUT there is a 2nd reason: it might also depend on usual lack of slow uptime on bosses. Chrono depends on slow condi to be able to be at max efficiency because of a trait called "Danger Time". Meanwhile slow is a rare condi only done by chrono himself (using Time Warp for example) or condi revs (that are less present in power based raid encounters). There are also dragonhunters, but the amount of slow they apply is not good. So my advise here, unless you have a good setup for using chrono and CC doesn't need to be carried, don't use Gravity Well like guides suggest, but use Time Warp instead and use it inside your continum split (it is not for quickness, but for slow uptime). It is a common mistake of many beginner chronos: they are the only chrono in the group with no slow and they don't take Time Warp. If you find it difficult to usw Time Warp in the usual 2 clones CS opening, try doing cont split with 3 clones (2 from mirror images and S3), it will make your life easier and will end up in higher dps in those kinds of situations.Good luck playing chrono !

Edit p.s.: forgot to mention that the usual pchrono and the current support chrono are exactly the same, only difference is shattering timings. Just don't play the old well/diviner chrono pls, it is very bad nowdays. Go STM one from snowcrows it is way better and has the same rotas as the pchrono.

Honestly it wasn't to scare anyone in playing chrono nothing that was said was short of the truth. Chrono in raid have one of the longest more complex rotation and if you have a group you can practice on then ofc learning it would be much easier. Learning your rotation on a golem and getting a grip of it is different then learning it from real bosses because each boss has different mechanics in which you will need to find tune your rotation to fit with how the boss fights. As far as learning any class and mastering it, everyone learns at a different pace what works for you and how quick you learn may not be the same for everyone and as you said you MAIN mesmer. For someone who is getting into raids using a easier class to learn the boss mechanics then learning chrono with randoms, well that's pretty much self explanatory.

This is just not true. Easy chrono guide:Cast sword phantasmcast disentchanteruse healing skill to use both againweapon swap and cast phantasmweapon swap and start from beginning

Shatter with 3 clones up and doneThe rotation isnt complex at all.

@"Salt Mode.3780" said:and where would you use split then? lol like i said a simple guide does not work on all bosses NOR do the utilities / traits stay the same mesmer mains that have been playing it for so long has it easy saying "its easy"

Utilities/traits stay the same. the only thing you swap is grav well for tw if group is lacking slow.CS just doubles the first part until weapon swap. Usually you start with it. Mirror images are 2 instant clones, you can even use sw3 for a 3 clone cs which gives you plenty of time for everything. When you want to use it again you just dont cast disentchanter when going from focus to sword. Right when you would use sword phantasm a 2nd time is where you enter cs again to duplicate sword phantasm and disentchanter again.
