Zahld.4956
Upgrades for skills of weapons. This mastery would upgrade the skills available for weapons. Upgrades could go a few different ways. One way could be new sets of skills for each weapon. Another way would be to have multiple selectable skills for each skill slot. Another would be a skill tree for each skill slot. Or a combination of each or all ways mentioned. Availability of upgrades could be released at a small chunk at a time build upon and gradually workout as necessary. An elite weapon skill could also be an option that adds some form of eliteness to it.
Game of Bones.8975
The best way to increase weapon mastery is to learn your build. Profession specializations add new skills and more ways to increase DPS, Conditions, or Healing. By adding an additional elite weapon skill, you are adding to power creep and buffs for no real need. 3 3
Malitias.8453
Not a big fan of simply upgrading the weapon skills, but having something like a customization slot on weapon skills would be nice. Anything that could increase buld diversity has my support. 2
Omega.6801
I'd rather have ANet spend resources on something else.
Vakom.4675
Absolutely would love to see something like this. A user on a reddit post mentioned, without citing a source, that at one point the devs mentioned something about a Weapon Mastery. This reddit post is 6 years old now but I thought it interesting and the exact thing you're thing of. Basically completing the mastery for a specific weapon would unlock a second set of weapon skills you could then swap your existing ones out for like Utility Skills. This would primarily be used to swap out disliked skills or ones that don't match the aesthetic/theme you're going for with your character. An example would be: I'm making a Heavy Metal themed Necromancer using the Metal Legion warhorn skin and T-Shirt, the 4 Warhorn skill is perfect and matches up with singing into the mic, the 5 Warhorn skill summons a swarm of locust and doesn't match this theme I'm going for. With Warhorn Mastery unlocked I'd swap it out for another sound based skill that matches the theme.
Handsel.2891
This sounds like a balance nightmare. 2 1
