Rasimir.6239
First step: check the wiki page on experience modifiers. There are a lot of ways to increase the experience you gain, like using foods and boosters, guild buffs, an amulet enrichment and more. Many of these stack with each other to the point where you gain several times the raw experience. Next check out the experience mechanics this game uses (on the same wiki page). You'll get an idea of what kind of activity gives what amount of experience. You can skip those two steps if you are not big on researching, but they will help you understand why you're gaining much or little experience from the activities you do. Now that you're going out to gain experience, try to combine as many experience-giving activities as you can. Jump into all events you see. Harvest any crafting material on the way. Unlock that waypoint or poi that is still unexplored but just slightly out of the way. It all adds up quickly (especially if you have buffs running that multiply your experience gain, see step 1). Personally I love exploring maps, so a lot of my experience gain comes from map-completing with different characters. I also like to replay story on different characters for a similar reason. Finally if I'm going for specific experience, I try to change it up by playing different maps and events, simply because the change in scenery makes it more fun (to me) and feel less like a grind. If you have season 3 unlocked that adds up to 6 more maps and story episodes that also give maguma mastery experience (plus one set of dailies that give extra xp and are often easy to do). A final word: HoT masteries take a LOT of experience to finish, much more so than any of the other mastery branches. It's pretty normal to take a long time to get them done. We've all been there. Try to find some other goals in HoT and season 3 to go for at the same time. Experience gain will continue, no matter what you do, but it just feels so much better with those slow-moving bars if you aren't staring at the xp counter all the time 🙂 .
Hesione.9412
Get the guild xp buff. Use xp boosters. Do events as much as you can, as they give a lot of xp. Have you tried the metas on the other maps? VB has a lot of relatively short events centred around evolving each encampment.
Ayrilana.1396
I've maxed all masteries and recently did it again on another account except for the fractal and legendary crafting ones. I'll share what I have found to be the most efficient ways to get XP as far as time spent. For HoT masteries, the most efficient are the following in order: Lake Doric Leather Farm Dragon's Stand (up to towers) Doing Lake Doric without boosters, you can get twice as much XP as you would from Dragon's Stand with boosters. Unfortunately Lake Doric has DR so you can only do it about 1-2 hours at a time. Even more unfortunate is that nobody does it anymore. Dragon's Stand is great only if you have a full map which tends to be difficult to find except right after reset. There just isn't as many mobs to tag. Now on my account that I just maxed them on, I found that the Octovine meta in AB to probably the best due to consistency. You can get close to 800K per meta. This is accomplished by doing as many of the Veteran Vinetooth and Priory Cleansing events as you can. You also need to tag all four mordrem skirmish events. I would just hop onto the map at X:40 and start doing as many events as I could. For PoF masteries, I found the following to be the most efficient: Repeating Hero Challenges daily Casino meta I believe repeating all of the hero challenges (these are the ones that you fight things) yields close to 700K. I can't remember off the top of my head. It also takes between 30-45 min to do every day. The Casino meta will yield close to 400K if you get all of the coins and tag as many of the troublemaker and choya gate events as you can.
Nick Malone.5641
None of the HoT Masteries are needed to craft legendaries, so you may be farming in the wrong areas. The Legendary Crafting Mastery you need to train in order to craft Legendaries is a CENTRAL TYRIAN Mastery, not a Maguma Mastery. So you cannot gain XP for it in ANY HoT or LWS3 map. Silverwastes is probably the best area in Central Tyria to farm XP. Doing World Bosses is an option if you get bored in Silverwastes. Doing the dailies is also a way to get a bit of extra XP and break the monotony of farming.
