Hey, 

today i wanted to talk about the earth trait "Serrated Stones".

 

What does this trait offer?

-Currently it offers 20% more bleeding duration and 5% more strike damage to bleeding enemies. 

 

What my problem is about this trait?

-The Strike damage increase does not fit on this trait and even less to the specialization. The specialization is for condi dmg and sustain and not for strike damage but i think this is obvious. 

 

So I will not say my opinion about the changes I would like here. More I wanted to ask you in the poll what you would like to see. Or if you even want a change.

I like the suggestions but there's something missing : extra condi damage/duration % against bleeding targets, a little more against crippled and a lot more against immobilized (this could even push it into master instead of adept column). There's already 2 defensive adept traits so this one needs to be focused on offense, but instead of power damage it should focus on condi.

Since the first day, before specialisation update, I have thought it actually increased condi/bleeding damage. I think it is at PoF release with weaver I have taken a look on wikia.

 

I don't get why no dev never wondered what's the point of this strike damage modificator; there is no other "power" trait in the trailtane and generally Earth isn't about power damage but condi, impairing condition, and damage mitigation / sustain.

Everything but +5% power damage would be better IMO. I voted " 5-10% more bleeding damage " if I'm right.

if you look at its version history, its a legacy trait from back when condition dps wasnt very big and hasnt been updated since. if you check strength of stones history that also increased strike damage at release, maybe they had a hard hitting geomancer build in mind (which wouldve been cool if it worked)

 

it could definitely use an update of some kind

 

keep in mind it isnt anymore out of place than the damage traits in water (especially piercing shards which functions best in an attunement that naturally has poor dmg output)
