What's the justification for the flat marionette if our characters are supposed to be reliving the event from memory- that nobody remembers the giant rack? That the pool doesn't have enough power to render the mechie ta-tas? If they were afraid of the marionette's design causing trouble and were insistent on bringing the encounter, a simpler method would be to make something up about someone being inspired by Scarlet's design and the creation going rogue.
