Also witnessed it using the raven glider with some colorful dyes on it, appears to have two minions of sorts, running around Lion's Arch. Theories?Edit: 2 at one spawned at one point, ran around then poofed. It's part of a previous current event I think, where the Commander is dying due to absorbing a lot of volitile magic (and seeks a solution).

I can't remember how to become an anomoly, but I do remember there were youtube videos on how to do it...

Is it? I've only ever seen charr anomalies with 'mesmer profession minions' following it. The movement wasn't akin to that of a player, it was an NPC pattern.

That sometimes happens when a player uses a Rift Stabilizer and goes through a Rift. It’s possible for the player to be transformed.

Jumping with an inactive combination on Class II Rift Stabilizer is the best method to transform since the player will definitely not be teleported and can jump more frequently. The process of becoming an Anomalous Form is also possible with the Class I Rift Stabilizer or a valid combination on the Class II Rift Stabilizer.

Regardless of the player's original appearance, their Anomalous Form appearance will be a default form based on ArenaNet's decision for how the race appears while transformed.

There is a magic rift appeared in LA , and now it appeared again

In one of the Beta Weekend Events before launch they ended the weekend by having branded crystals turn players into branded. Turned the zone into a PvP warzone, players vs. branded players. Could be testing mechanics, or an exploit people found and used.

Idk guys, I'm thinkin' this is a hint for upcoming content given how the rift that keeps showing up looks like the ones with the Bloodstone events. Edit: Rift just closed, it had the 'stabilize the rift' event 'fail' as per usual but that's only been seen in regular maps, not cities.

first when i saw it , it was a human anamoly and ran away from me and jump into the LA's waters and swam underwater as i was trying to hit it (twice)

It’s a multiboxer having fun.Using a Rift Stabilizer to gain hostile status and Anomalous form on one character, then using Endless Anomaly Fragment tonics on the others.This is using previous Current Event side story gizmos and rewards, not what is coming up.

Those are players. Look carefully at the names: Elite Charr Anomaly in front (the red one targeted) then Elîte Charr Anomaly (with a ^ accent on the i), then Elíte Charr Anomaly (with a ' accent on the i this time). Also the one you've targeted has a PvP league badge, which never appear on NPCs because they can't do PvP.

It's either one person multiboxing or a group of friends/guild who all made characters with almost identical names and used tonics to disguise themselves as anomalies. Moving like NPCs is probably also deliberate to help maintain the effect.

(And yeah, the rifts are part of one of the previous current events and still appear.)
