  1. Hi all, I think it's important to point out that ArenaNet did well to revisit some old, out-of-favor specs. However, I feel that condi rev changes kind of missed the point. In my opinion there are currently 3 big issues that makes condi rev lackluster: 1. The whole playstyle was built around Resistance originally. Now, after the changes, the build lost it's main strength and can actually be easily melted even by condi builds. The reason for that is that there is almost no condi removal or counterplay to condi at the moment, excluding Facet of Nature on Demon. There is basically no reason to have this amount of Resistance either. 2. Condi rev just does not fit in any role. As a duelist, there are several specs that outsustain / outperform condi rev (cata, vindi, etc). As a teamfighter, it lacks any significant damage especially that condi removal is so easy to access, while condi rev's condi application is below par (both in terms of variety and stacks apart from Torment). If you are extremely good and the enemy is terrible, you can stack up 10+ torment stacks in a duel, but that's about it. If there is a support in the enemy team, just reroll to something else. 3. The actual damage output with condi rev (even if you go with Diabolic Inferno and Acolyte of Torment) is also sub-par. Torment being the main damaging factors just brings down the build. Look at mirage or even virtuoso.. At least the Torment changes helped a bit.. My suggestions, feel free to discuss / cherrypick. 1. Revisit condi application. Torment should not be touched, both duration and application is decent when played well (with the exception of #2 and #3). However, it would make sense to revisit some traits for additional cover condis. Thinking about bleeding / confusion etc. 2. The Echoing Eruption change (now 2 ammo) does not help the build in terms of usefulness or playstyle, just makes it even more spammy than it was. I honestly think adding more and longer torment / burning on Axe 2-3 would have made more sense, but only if it's with 1 ammo again. 3. Add more torment stacks to Abyssal Chill trait. I mean seriously - it's a great synergy, but what can we do with 1 stack of torment? It was nerfed in 2017 but since it's completely useless and condi / powercreep got out of hand, it seriously needs a buff. 4. Additionally to boon removal, I suggest adding condi transfer (x1 or x2) to Banish Enhancement. OR rework Demonic Defiance to remove /transfer 1 condition when using a Legendary Demon Skill. 5. Revisit - Buff axe 4. Currently it's so weak it barely does anything. Probably it would make sense to push the power damage on this a bit, as it can easily can get out of hand (unblockable). Obviously, these shouldn't all be done at the same time (that would be op), just some ideas how to carefully push it back to at least viable tier. What do you think?
  2. It feels really good tbh. Apart from Vindicator which is ridiculous at the moment with the dodge spam, hope it gets a hotfix.
  3. Apart from the obvious damage nerfs it needs, I find it hilarious WBs are running around with 20-30 seconds of Resolution all the time. I know it only reduces part of the condi damage, but with all the cover buffs it's impossible to counterplay it at the moment. I am okay with close to 100% uptime when it's played right, but right now it's just completely dumb.

  6. Placements have absolutely nothing to do with your 'personal ranking' at the end of the season. If you were placed low in placements, you can climb out in a handful of matches, worst case. If you were not placed at your actual skill level, that is. Not to mention what you are writing (dc-s, afks etc.) happen to all people, so it is calculated risk. This is just another case when someone thinks 'I am better than all the people I am playing with' when you are clearly not. If you can't climb, it's your fault on the long run. If you feel like you are carrying, you have to carry harder. I am sorry to shatter your world.
  7. I mean mesmer is obviously still overpowered. It's very hard to find the real one. In yesterday's mAT I actually saw one guy running mirage in about 20+ games so that means it's totally viable for top tier gameplay. He was farmed tons of times in the quarters I think, but he played it, therefore Mirage should be nerfed. Misha also played holo ignoring the fact he is basically the best mesmer in game. Guess what? He LOST not playing mesmer. Is that a coincidence? Don't think so. tl;dr nerf mesmer, it's too overpowered.
  8. Well this mini-season you have to try hard NOT to be in top250 as players are super inactive. 1500 should do the job, but noone can tell thanks to the players under the game limit.

  10. I would like to request from Anet to have the special tournaments more often. I have had a lot of fun with random people in these ATs, and stream content was top notch and something different finally. If we could do this like every month, it would be amazing (or have one specific AT, like 2v2 for a week and then constantly rotate). Great idea, it was fun. Sadly missed the Stronghold one (although probably it's the worst for competitive play)

  12. While in general I agree with you, you should read on then because what you call vocal minority opinion was very closely matched by all the top streamers as well this time. There were times times when these two were super far from each other (looking at you mirage), but I think we can all agree that this time core symbol guard, holo and renegade were all overperforming on ALL levels. The nerfs are good and were much needed Specifically, which nerf do you disagree with?
  13. I mean you can't argue that the nerfs were very much spot on. 80% of the forums were complaining about holo nades (nerfed) holo might stacking (nerfed) and knockback scrapper (nerfed). Core guard bunker was ridiculous, it's still okay after yesterday's patch, but this nerf was also spot on, with only one trait modification. Tornado nerf also good. Can't say anything about Renegade. You can argue that there are still some changes that are required (Lich form AA, Shocking Aura, Shiro rev), but nothing REALLY groundbreaking as the things that were nerfed. The point is, it's very disappointing that in such a long time they did the absolute minimum.. But at least, this time very accurate. I am still hopeful we will get some reworks and buffs in the near future. For me, the quality of this patch is 8.5/10. 'Content' wise, it's a 2/10. edit: one note though, Flashbang nerf is still stupid.. reduction of blind is NOT the way to nerf blind spam. mesmer got an ICD, so why not do the same for engi?
