  1. Yes, it is. Does it still give me why I put in the effort? No, so it's null and void.
  2. No, it's like going through school only to be told after that going through school is null and void, you now have to go through the madrasa, and it doesn't even offer the same fields of study. This has absolutely nothing to do with other people.
  3. I haven't played in a while and I saw that they introduced a relic system which replaces the sixth set bonus for runes, however relics don't seem to be one to one with those bonuses. Does that mean the effort I put in over the years farming/buying/crafting specific rune sets has been retroactively wasted? I'm specifically thinking about the Golemancer runes for my asura characters, but others as well, every character got deliberately designed a certain way and it appears that has now been thrown away. Is that assessment correct? Or is there actually something to make up for taking all that away?
  4. I'd love for meteor to become like the hydra skill: one single impact, with that kind of animation, and preferably causing burning too.
  5. Well, this change sucks hard, exactly as I expected. Anyone know of a playstyle as fun as DD elementalist used to be? Preferably for elementalist, but if not *shrug* EDIT: I know that second one sounds overly dramatic, but when I play now it feels like I'm constantly walking into a door or something. It's weird and annoying.
  6. Please don't change the behavior of these skills, I very much enjoy rushing through/past my target to impale or burn them, evading attacks at the same time on occasion.
  7. @Malus.2184 Sounds to me like you have a political agenda and your woldview and understanding of history are completely colored by it.
  8. Japan in 1850, when it was forcibly opened up at gunpoint, was still a medieval society. The people of the Eurasian steppes changed very little over thousands of years, until gunpowder finally gave their enemies a viable way to deal with them. Another thing you often see in history is the formation of an empire, only to see it collapse over the next 150-350 years.Assyria, Persia, Vikings, Aztecs, ... Industrialization only happened once (so far as we know), and when it did, it was shared with large parts of the world. Don't get me wrong, cyberpunk Cantha is quite enticing to me, but in the real world nations in isolation tend to stay behind (see North Korea for a contemporary example), rather than rocketing ahead of everyone. Trade and the exchange of ideas are what help drive creativity.
  9. I think I should clarify for some here that the teapot is definitely not the thing that made me leave. It's just the latest thing that made me realize I feel disconnected from the game. Other items have built up that disconnect in the past, the teapot just made me realize how large that divide has become. Loved many of the replies, so thank you for making me smile.
  10. For a while now, ArenaNet has been adding items to the gemshop that are out of place in Tyria. This week a tea-set. The more these items are added, the less I want to play GW2. My immersion is broken, I can no longer get lost in Tyria without being confronted with this game being very much a videogame, and that takes away my motivation to play this game. This isn't a threat, this isn't a request for change. ArenaNet should make the game they want to make, but my desire to be a part of it is waning. Thank you for all the good times, and much fun to those who do enjoy this kind of game.
  11. ^ I think this is the most important takeaway. I think DRM's are actually decent content, but they are a) all feeling the same, and doing the same 10 times in a row is not my idea of fun; and b) they are all Primordus and Jormag, if they had jumped back into the past and given us even just one per old dragon (Zhaitan, Mordremoth, Kralkatorrik; also pun was intended) that would've broken the monotony some. Just because the story is at some place right now, doesn't mean they can't fill out the past a little bit more (see Marionette or Vision Of The Past for examples).
  12. Generally I agree, but since this one is a special case, it should be the exception. +1 for stat resetability please.
  13. You can decline, just don't play that chapter or story-step. Literally nothing changes for the story, since you rush off to the desert after refugees start coming in. In the end, you really didn't need that Eye of Janthir.
  14. There's a 20-slot bag at the end of the Halloween Reward Track. I thought it would be worth it, but after this I've changed my mind. So no, in fact I don't do it. EDIT: Or maybe I'll give that another try, see below.
  15. Why do we get useless stuff (tonics) that nobody wants (i.e. can't sell it on the trading post) in Halloween bags that we also can't vendor? It's worse than getting nothing, because I actually have to waste time cleaning up this pointless inventory filler.
