  1. I've crashed several days now, most recently this morning during phase two as well. But then I crashed about a minute later while I was just waiting on the boat (waiting for the 'new' round of the treasure hunt to begin in the new instance). I guess I was technically over water (no idea if that's related), but I was waiting on phase 1 to begin.
  2. What was the reasoning behind taking out the original "street clothes" years ago? I remember having some shorts, and I think some sort of vest-top that I loved....but then they were removed and I got an ugly outfit as compensation :( Now they're adding things back into game..which is nice, but I still miss the original items.
  3. I'm on NA, so I have no actual horse in this race, but gotta say....this was a rather bad way to go about things. They've created such a mess by not just giving it to all of EU. I've never seen any dev handle a compensation for downtime in this way. It's crazy.
  4. The only one I really dislike is Braham. I get characters can be written to be flawed, or just not super loveable, but ooh how I wish to hurt him. It's also annoying that his voice is used on so many random characters. :x
  5. I can't speak for ESO or Runescape, but housing in XIV is a pretty big thing. It's also a massive sore-spot for a lot of players since they have only a finite amount of houses, so a majority of the playerbase cannot have a house. I'm not really a huge fan of their housing system as a whole. X: Aside from the limited number of homes, the inside of houses feels very "boxed-in" as it is its own instance, the lots are pretty small (especially compared to Wildstar) and you're limited to how many items you can place. It's a massive step up from their moghomes in FFXI, but definitely leaves a bit to be desired (IMO).
  6. I will admit my sample size of professions is incredibly lacking - it's basically always just been Mesmer.....and now the Reaper. Have tried a few others over the years, but always go back to mesmer - it's my baby even though I'm complete balls at it ;) Necro is one of those jobs that has never appealed to me aesthetically (not a fan of dead/half-flesh pets/ghoulish things), but I was getting desperate for something that would let me actually survive in my journeys and that class gets recommend quite frequently. It's definitely far more fool-proof than Mesmer, which is handy, but I am still determined to get my Mesmer functional and kicking bum out in the OW. I do still have one free character slot open that I test things out on. Other classes I have are an old Elementalist that I keep around only for rewards, and a low-level ranger. I think the simpler/less-twitchy jobs click better for me personally, although kudos to those who can handle the more challenging. For what it's worth, I do only stick to OW content. I'm not bringing that badness into raids. ;)
  7. I think I need to take a page out of your book with my Mirage as I die A LOT in the open world. :/ I've played Mesmer since launch (albeit with years of breaks mixed in), but it's been so miserable to use for things lately (and I only play open world). I had followed the suggestion of using Viper gear, but that's probably for people who actually know what they're doing. I'm not quite ready to give up on the class, so I may give your gearing a shot to see if that extra toughness helps out a bit. My struggle with re-gearing or doing a new build on my own is that i don't understand the finer nuances to all the various stats and skills. Not blaming the game at all, I totally appreciate what variety that brings, but sadly I've always struggled with games that give a ton of options. Because of that, I tend to rely fairly heavily on build suggestions and other player's ideas. As an aside, I just started taking my Necro out for the first time since boosting it 5 years ago, and the difference between the two is night and day. That bloody class can survive so much, it's almost not fair. I know Necro/Reaper is generally touted as easy-mode for open world, but honestly it's been such a refreshing break for me. I took it out into the HoT zones last night to work on clearing maps, and managed to solo several of the HPs by myself. I'm sure those are super easy for people who have actual skill, but that's not my group of people. lol. It felt really quite rewarding for me though, and that's what counts :)
  8. I do have all of LS3 at my disposal, so that's good at least! I'm just horrible at clearing those achievements it seems, but that's my own problem. At least the points will be there :3
  9. I'm right in the middle of this myself. I do have (what I consider) to be the most important masteries unlocked, I have a looong way to go until the HoT skils are completed. While it is going to take a lot of XP, my bigger concern at the moment is where to find all of the required mastery points for maxing out all trees. I've cleared all map mastery points, but as of right now I'm about 35 points short of what I'll need in total. I do seem to be missing a lot of points from the LS3 quests, but those kicked my ass the first time. lol. Not sure how much more success I'll have at snagging the missing points if I run it again, but that may be something I have to chip away at slowly.
  10. I may be missing something, need to still check a couple of characters, but I seeeem to be OK. Unfortunately I don't really tend to pay super close attention to my gold, gems or achievement points levels, but they seem to be in more or less the same spot. My quest status IS at the same spot (these I remember as it's been pure hell for me. lol). Did this not affect everyone? e: From the subreddit, this seems to maybe be only EU? Not 100% on this.
  11. On everything or after buying/selling few items? There is an intentional rate limiting on the TP which will become noticeable if you are trying to buy or sell a lot of stuff at once. Sorry for the late reply, but I've noticed it more when selling a bunch of items. I'm not sure if my issue falls into the intentional programming or if it's something else. It seems like my UI turns a bit buggy on me. At times the confirmation pop-up will look like it's timing out and not want to load, I've also had it where I get a message along the lines of "0 of X have sold for 0.00" when first listing an item (which requires me to relist it) and just a general sluggishness at times. It's nothing game-breaking for me by any stretch, just a few oddities I've noticed the last few days as I've been clearing out materials.
  12. I just finished tonight, and personally, this is the kind of quest I enjoy. It's long and tedious, but nothing about it was really that difficult. I'm an insanely casual player, but it was nice having something mindless to just chip away at.
  13. Mine definitely has a bit of a slight delay, gets a wee bit annoying when I'm selling a bunch of items back to back, but it's not to the point where it feels unusable. D: Not sure what that would be all about.
  14. It's been such a long time since I've done most of the early story quests so I can't really speak for those, but I can tell you that HoT and PoF thoroughly kicked my bum repeatedly as I worked my way through it. I really wanted to get into the story as it seems really quite deep and involved, but it's to the point where I kind of dread having to continue the story quests. As someone else had mentioned earlier, a challenge doesn't always equate to fun for everyone. I would be thrilled if they could add in a couple of difficulty options for the story mode so those who may struggle a bit more (like myself) can still get through it and enjoy themselves while those who need more of a challenge can choose that as well. With all that said, I would really looove to be better at the game. There is so much I don't understand about the combat, and as a mostly solo player, I've never really had anyone I could bounce all my stupid questions off of. I've read plenty of guides, checked out threads asking how to improve, followed gear guides, etc, but I'm still rather poo. lol. So for now, I'll keep crawling through the Story quests and just hope one day things will finally click for me and I can experience the joy of having mobs and bosses melt before my eyes.
