  1. Franky I'll take a faster way to make more legendary armor. How bout removing mystic clovers. Took me 4 to 5 months for the first set of raid armor. The gold required for mats , mystic clovers , and not having enough time to full clear everything was a contributor. Once I had the builds and experience to full clear all the wings things went much fast for my last few pieces. It was a good reward for half a year of work. 16 to 20 weeks is about consistent with a previous post of estimating progression to a full clear. This time is also consistent with pvp and wvw.
  2. Good day, I play alac rev in fracs and raids and can say with confidence that diviners rev is the superior option for both. The hb and alac meta is well established and revenant by itself brings metric ton of utility. Also alac rev transfers well and easily into most raid compositions where as hb is not really the preferred option example: 2 quick Chronos and alac or two cqb and alac.
  3. I'm up for it. Adding some kind of garbage instability like t4s might add some spice to the weekly clears. Add another chest reward and we are good to go.
  4. You'll want to start moving towards harriers gear if you progression as an hb is important. The added toughness doesn't do very much in your position and in many raids you'll end up pulling aggro from the boss. If you want to tank then your already ahead of the game. Hope this helps !
  5. You could not be more wrong. A kill of Dhuum or Qadim 1 is more than 50g just on their own. You do not NEED to pay your way through WvW or PvP to get the armour, if doesn't matter how much you lose or die because you always get progress as long as you're participating. The discounted set is still 25 li per piece and requires you to do the first 2 collections of Envoy Armour. Assuming you buy W1-7 every week, you're getting 25LI a week (15 LI and 10 LD), assume you can get W1-4 for 30g each and W5-7 for 100g each, you're still paying over 2000g and the armour is still 300-350g/piece to craft. You'd have to be pretty kitten dedicated to do that and it probably applies to less than 1% of players. It's a really invalid point to say the armour is "credit cardable". You also forget that the Ectoplasmic Residue that you need 10 of is RNG based and you may not have it all within 6 weeks. If this is the case, you cannot progress to the next set. There's so many things that you still have to do and cannot simply just buy. It is no way in hell 3-4 hours a week, you are only counting an incredibly fast raid buy with no wipes and no time spent searching for it. It's just a ridiculous post to be honest. You act as though PvE is the only route that requires materials. All three routes require you to farm mats. So don't go tacking on mats, when I didn't tack on mats for any of the other routes. Quite frankly the raids are dull to me. Now I can honestly say I haven't even attempted w5-7, mainly because I cant stand the raiding community in GW2 to begin with. Second to that, PvE already gets the unique skin which arguably is probably one of the few reasons people even "attempt" to go the raid route. WvW is still going to require a gross amount of time to farm the mats, tickets, and honor. WvW alone requires ~18 hours every week just to hit the weekly pip counter to get your cap of tickets. This is assuming you are maintaining participation, have not skipped a week (for the +1 pip for previous week), and that you're at least a somewhat decent rank. Being a full-time commander is the only suitable route for anyone who wants to acquire the legendary armor set in a reasonable time in WvW.PvP requires at least several hundreds of matches just to hit the ascended shards.PvE, lets "assume" it takes the average player 18 hours a week to full clear the raid. That is still significantly less time either of the other routes. Good day , Pve has a failure state wherein no progress is made towards the armor. I would argue that pvp and wvw have some progression regardless of the outcome. I would agree that some down tuning of the other modes is reasonable though . Thanks
  6. Lol what? A boss gives you 2g or 4g, plus magnetite shards and an exotic weapon, plus the chance for raid specific drop. That's kitten. What exactly is lol about the data. Liquid gold and tradable items across 7 wings net minimum 90ish gold. Where’s your math behind this? Full clears have never yielded that much for me unless I get a lucky drop. I get about half of what you’re claiming. You can get 25 LI/LD a week, which essentially means you get 25 liquid gold rewards. Assuming the two double wings are W1 and W7, you're getting 28g from those and 36g from the remaining ones. I can't for the life of me remember how much gold you get from Gate and Bandits before Sabetha, but add those on too. It's a lot of gold, but it also takes a fair bit of time (the less time the more experienced you/your group are). This means 64g, add up the exotics you get drop, it goes up even more, but it's RNG at that point. It's still rarely going to be 90g after food, and 15g of that requires you to spend all the gaeting crystals you get that week.I see where you are coming from. Perhaps your numbers are more in line with reality. Either way the the gold intake is very low to keep up with constant crafting. Thanks for your clarifications .
  7. Lol what? A boss gives you 2g or 4g, plus magnetite shards and an exotic weapon, plus the chance for raid specific drop. That's kitten. What exactly is lol about the data. Liquid gold and tradable items across 7 wings net minimum 90ish gold. Because you get 2g or 4g per kill, not between 5g and 10g. The way you typed it is stupidly misleading. If you only kill W5-7 then sure, you may end up with that. But if you do a wing from W1-4 expecting 5-10g/boss you're gonna end up really disappointed. It's really RNG on what exotic you have drop, and whether it is armour or a weapon. You're capped at 150 magnetite and gaeting crystals a week, you can't make magnetite into gaeting crystals. The Djinn doubloon is 39g at sell price, and costs 150 crystals + 20g, so you're gaining about 15g from that after fees, assuming you can sell it at sell price and do not have other uses for the crystals. The Peerless Infusion is around 390g and costs 2000 crystals + 20g, it takes a while to get 2000 crystals and is less profit than the doubloon. I can't think of a single item for magnetites that gives any sort of profit. Correct me if I'm wrong. At work but here the figures you presented. Gold /kill 2-4 so let's say 3 gold average. 25 reward boxes for full clears per week. Average result is 75 gold per week. If we include 25 drops I can see this number being reasonably close to my estimate. Let me know what you think. Cheers

  9. I'm in the same spot as op. Legendary armor cost about 250 per piece. Daily fracs net about 30 gold per day. Raids only pay between 5 and 10 gold per kill , so a full clear runs about 90 gold after food. Mystic clovers are ridiculous to roll for as well. If I'm crafting then yes things are very tight.
  10. @Zawn.9647 That hurts man. Sounds like you need a more experienced group. Try RA if you need an easy way in.
  11. One user earlier did mention that the common fc lfg is playing with a completely different player base than the newbie raiders. I pug every single wing with general ease. My only sticking points might be largos SH as they require double the tanks. I lead my own raids most of time and my lfg reads as follows: W5 fc LF exp tank, druid pusher , alac , condi dps Guess my squad requires experience so it's toxic to newer raiders , and I specifically want a druid to deal with tds. This is the typical post of 99 percent of the lfg. Nothing really outstanding. If a newbie joins our squad we let em know that now is not the time to train and that's about it. Honestly easier bosses I don't really much about kp. I started playing on day one in gw2 and have enjoyed dungeons , fractals , and then raiding. I only perceived toxic stuff from the forums. Raids were so hard back then , but look where we are now. The raiding community has no issues clearing content on the daily. If rewards were daily I would just spam raids all week. I'm not sure what more newbie raiders want. All the build development for every build and class come from raiding or pvp. Even the open world builds are found on meta battle and are compromised of raid perfect builds with added functions for solo play. Hundreds and guides , videos, and guilds/ discords with training. The raiding community has done enough. Perhaps people think requirements are toxic. That could really be it. To that I say it's too bad then. I've heard of the bear long now ranger meme , but never seen one. Does the bear ranger really fall into the target market for raids ? Can the ranger force people to deal with them ? Also no. When the bear ranger can't get a group or join groups they will now understand social market places. If you don't speak the language people won't talk to you. Same goes here. A person that wants to raid will have the equipment make the investment to train up. The lfg is mostly for experienced raiders. Pug groups do not have much comms so tried and true meta comps and strats provide easy clears.
  12. Good day , Gear progression is the game ends at ascended. Legendary are just useful for stat swapping on the go. By the time I build legendary armor I already had most of the sets I needed. The way to improve in the game is found in skill and time at the golem. Honestly it's fine this way. More time to raid and less time wasted doing other stuff. Cheers
  13. Good day , What exactly keeps toxic effected players from making their own groups. That's the actual definition of what RA was and still is. An easy place to start raiding. Don't like meeting 80 percent of your class bench ? Make your own group and stipulate no benchmark dps plz. Or better yet just open an all welcome raid or strike. Unless people expect bench mark players to join these lesser exp groups there shouldn't be a problem.
  14. Well I would say the natural response to underperforming in real life is indifference. When it costs more to find new bodies than to help people then we see more altruism. From the perspective of players in the hobby we are paying ourselves to play. What's the point of wasting time on under performance when there is readily available talent lying around. Especially in the dps rolls there is little reason to keep a bad player around.
  15. From where I am sitting raids are the only reason I ever had to buy gold. I could not make my legendary armor with whatever tiny amounts of gold I received from weekly clears. Now that I am equiped for all my toons there is little incentive to keep pulling up li/ld or go back to the gem store. With only a trickle of end game content coming out it's hard to find things to do. No time in game means no reason to purchase more stuff. My purchases so far: Both world boss and maguma teleportsCopper and silver salvagerUnbound magic , skyscale , molten mining toolsMany bag slots, bank tabs , and material storage slots The techno looking mount skins About 2k gold for crafting
  16. @Zhaid Zhem.6508 Very true. Power chrono is good enough in fracs , but my reasoning for it's inclusion is its ubiquity and flexibility in raids. Heck largos is still basically a mirage fight. The other two classes I think most of us are in agreement on. Thanks man
  17. I would say chrono, fire brand, and alac. If you have these three professions you can raid or frac whenever you want. You can tank , boon, and hard carry your way to victory. I can't think of a comp that doesn't run any of these classes. All these classes also have good dps builds for solo play as well .
  18. @Despot.3048 Sounds good man. Glad you joined and best of luck. That's a really good community. Cheers
  19. Idk. Anecdotes don't do much but all my time in the game is on pugs in t4 and raids. People get annoyed when failing and that's about it. One day I'll find out what a bear bow ranger is but it sounds funny. Lows dps output , trash builds, and mechanic failure will get people trashed on. If you don't nuke ur team every few seconds you are fine. If you do nuke your team constantly in end game content either you skipped to t4 too fast or the raid guides were not studied. It's really odd about this toxicity thing. In my experience the more toxic the lfg post is the faster we clear our content and move on. It's usually the generic lf hb alac post that result in hour long t4 runs.
  20. Good day, I'm not sure where the toxic thing comes from. I started raiding at hot launch and had trouble finding training. Picked a herald and a com tag and bashed my head against a wall for months on end. My last struggle was w5 with a 20 hour progression where I burned through over 100 pugs. Where I am now failing a raid is the exception and clean clears are the standard. The only time I see conflict is when raiders of different tiers of skill and experience struggle on an encounter. The experienced group gets tired or annoyed at wasting time and the less exp raiders may get trashed on for a real or perceived lack of experience. For example of I am g3 on dhuum and I fail 3 times in a row well I am Linda expecting a kick at that point. Ive been in the game since day 0 and nowhere in the game has someone told me certain people are toxic. Pugs may have talked mad trash as I kick them from dropping bombs on the team ,but that's on them. It wasn't untill I came to the forums that I see a boat load of complaints about raiding. Kinda sad. It's the only thing I do in guild wars 2 and without new content there isn't much else to do. Regards
  21. Good day , I don't hear much about the lfg being a bad place tbh. I've been playing since launch and the lfg and at the time outside websites were the only way I cleared dungeons and then raids. I have pugged every end game raid and fractals with full clears on the weekly at this point. Oddly enough I have met some other people through a guild or discord who had either never pugged or disliked pugs l. My overall experience over the years is raider pugs are usually very experienced and usually have a ton of classes at their disposal. However with continued failures many pugs will leave. This is expected as they have no commitment long term anyways. Fractal pugs are a mixed bag at t4. It's such a toss up that we actually take the hb and alac roles for ourselves and pug dps since we can carry groups from our end. T4 pugs will also leave on continued failures and frankly it's for the best anyways. Fracs are daily runs and getting them done fast means we can all move onto something else. Back in the day I didn't have a dps meter or any idea of builds or team comp so I can only thank all the pugs that worked with me to clear those dungeons. Good experience overall at the time. Recently my opinion has changed in that experienced player rarely ever run this content. The result is inexperienced players even with new builds getting blasted by admittedly old and poorly designed content. I would pug some dps and find an experienced dungeon runner if you want to do this content. I tried strikes and of course and lead pugs there as well. Very mixed bag on this side mostly due to the very low difficulty. Once I knew certain strikes were memes I either low manned the strikes with some buddies or lfged for whatever garbage team came in. Overall an absolute funny time with some real meme teams. After using a static for a few months to clear raids I can say the only real difference is the known quality of certain rolls and the lack of down time. I wouldn't bother forming statics to run anything else. The population of good players makes it meaningless. I have no idea what hotw is but on our end pugs are 99 percent of my time in the game. The only time we had people issues were when individuals over estimated their own performance or when the performance was low enough to cause problems. Either scenario results in me or my party withdrawing or people are kicked. In summary pugs are life for most of us Cheers
  22. Not sure what part of NA people are playing on. I frequently full clear from the lfg with little problems during the week. I just tag up , post an lfg: w5 fc lf tanks , druid g2 kite, cdps gods . Ping role and kp. Ezpz Yeh if you post some weird stuff on the lfg people might not join. Like vg semi exp lf ranged dps ( I've seen this before and have no idea what it does ). Yeh sometimes it takes longer to fill certain wings but that's fine. I also use my guild , RA , and other discords to find players. Mmr for raids sounds interesting , but the target audience cannot effectively use the product. You would need a gear check to que up as a healer and tank to start and by that point a I can just discriminate between tank and dps on my own. The test bed was already made in strikes and the matchmaking there is a meme. I tried every once in a while, but leading my own instances content has the best results. Long time ago I was the boon herald looking to get into raids. I got my own tag and got to work. Years later I don't regret that decision and wished I made it earlier. From my perspective back then ,a matching system would have gotten me into more instances and possible kills , but there are no guarantees the squad will make any progress. For example a bad kiter on qadim will nuke the raid in under a minute so 8 other people get nothing out of the run. Lots of things to consider , but dev time being finite and the barrier to entry being hitting the p button already I would say matchmake is not worth the man hours. In a world where time was free then yes more options sounds good.
  23. Good day , What I got from your response is for anet to codify raid comps to then make matchmaking easier. Ok sounds interesting. Does that extend to mechanic roles as well? Does this mean we now get a proper inspect function in the game as well? Let's run an easy hypothetical Adina kill: Anet says 6 dps, 3 boons, and 1 tank are ques fir the matchmaking. Sounds good so far. Who will decide kiting rolls ? A commander or certain classes? If this is all outsourced to anet would players accept this solution ? Chrono jail is a real problem in the game is it reasonable to sent classes to mechanics jail ? Is it fair for certain dps to be exempt from actually learning fights ? Last thing, certain strats require certain classes and skills. How would the game deal with a druid not pushing on sh or boon Chrono not providing boons. There is also the issue of player experience. How will the matchmaking take this into consideration? The game knows how many kills we have. Will new players be stuck with only inexp groups? Just some issues I see . What you mean is an automatic lfg system would be unused by the current 1% player base that still run raids. Nothing about the 99% that would try the system and if it was based on gear checks and role checks that can be designated by anet as offical team comps to complete the raids at raid mode levels is not acceptable to the 1% of current raiders. What a joke!!!!
  24. I would love story bosses as raids instead. Like Balthazar or joko raids would be sick. Stop segmenting the game between living world and the raids. Hell a crystal dragon raid would be cool too. Have cool me mechanics and a Titanic health bar to burn down. Game play and story have the same idea. This boss is hard and players will feel it when they fight it. I think the last personal story mission was like that with arah story mode. It's just a dungeon.
  25. Not every part of an mmo needs or should involve the entire map. Dungeon crawls and raids are the the best way to provide fun controlled content. Imagine a map meta where one person touching oils wipes the map. Anet putting effort into raids and pushing out w1-3 in like 6 months was amazing. Burn out at the end game is severe at the moment. What to do after legendary armor and trinkets are complete ? Make an alt account I guess .
