  1. Grand Wind Catcher - why is there not a corresponding glider skin? I mean it's perfect for a glider, and in fact the Sun and Lightning Catchers could also be upgraded to glider skins. But particularly the wind catcher - could have some expanding aspect crystal with the nice white trail like when you run on land, and the wind effect while gliding. I'd rather have an invisible glider skin to match with this backpiece than have to see it replaced by a totally different glider when gliding. :/ Edit - the closest I can get is using the Timekeeper Glider and dying it a similar colour to the frame of the Grand Wind/Lightning/Sun Catcher, because the circular design matches the position of the central hub of the glider. Not ideal but kind of acceptable for now.
  2. Anet - I know you're going to make a "Star" Springer. But I have a request - as unlikely as it might be. Please could you make a "Star" Jackrabbit that uses the Kourna Jackrabbit model with the starfield textures/effects, instead of the default springer. Pretty please. :)
  3. It's the small details in the animations that make this game worth playing. One of gw2's biggest strengths IMO, whether it's combat, idling, mounts, gliders, emotes or simply walking.
  4. Pretty complicated, using autohotkey for right click camera toggle and mapping left/right click for weapon skills 1 and 2 respectively when the crosshair is active (ie when right click camera is held). Basically I used and modified some of the old combat mode autohotkey script, trimming it down heavily for what I need (only a few things). Action camera by comparison is not good enough. With autohotkey I can toggle on/off the crosshair rapidly (have this bound to F on the keyboard and also a side mouse button, very easy to reach and use rapidly) for moving the cursor to ground target things like blink, etc (then immediately reactivate crosshair) Has become very easy and fluid. For pbaoe I don't even need to do that - ie if I want to drop chaos storm at my feet I just aim the crosshair down. Even at range it can work - ie for jaunt and blink with "lock at max range if out of range" selected in the options menu - I just pan the crosshair up and hit jaunt or blink, very comfortable to use. Sometimes doesn't work due to pathing and terrain (then I pan the camera down and toggle off crosshair to flick the cursor), bur most of the time. Targeting I still use tab targeting (different keybinds) for nearest, next, etc. I have pseudo detarget on C through using lock target - very useful key. Sometimes toggling off/on crosshair to manually select something with left click (again fraction of a second to do). For the record I've been playing like this for years, and it's all simple 1:1 keybinds so nothing wrong with it. If anything it's even more simplified than the old combat mode. Anyway aside from that:LShift - modifier for skills and free camera (I hold down to pan camera while crosshair is active, allowing me to look around - you can't do this in action camera afaik). Oh, also mount skill 2 because free camera keybind doesn't work there.Alt - also free camera.Space - dodge, mount skill 1Caps - jump/swim up (but I rebind Caps to something else using autohotkey so it isn't actually caps lock).V - about faceTab - interactQ - heal1-4 - shatters (profession skills)E - skill 3Shift+E - utility skillR - skill 4Shift+R - utility skillX - nearest (shift+x next target, also duplicated keybind on mouse for comfort, sometimes wanting to tab through on mouse)Z - stow weapon (shift+z previous target)C - pseudo detarget (lock target, just put cursor or aim away from enemies or any target and you drop target).5, tilde and shift+space = autorun (3 different binds for hand comfort. I just use autohotkey to make two of those keys the same).6 - mapB - special action (hate this keybind, waste of space for wvw but I need it in easy reach for pve...) Mouse has many binds including blink and weapon skill 5 on thumb buttons, swap weapon on scroll wheel (when crosshair active. When crosshair inactive scroll wheel is zoom in/out of character) and middle mouse button when I want to be precise. Other mouse buttons (don't really want to share what mouse I have as it's likely something most would never consider buying unless also using for things like star citizen) are uses for crosshair toggle, targeting, utility skills and elite (Jaunt is really easy to reach being just next to left click). I also have tilt mouse for dodge in case my hand gets tired of pressing spacebar sometimes - duplicate keybinds are crucial for comfort and avoiding strain, in my opinion. Probably more I can't remember but that's a good chunk of it. Edit - just seeing some other posts reminded me that A and D are not strafe left/right by default which totally boggles my mind. Keyboard turning is alien to me, I don't know how anyone can use it, so of course WASD is strafe in all directions only with mouse for camera turning. ;)
  5. This. Though I may not bother with the raptor as I haven't used it in ages.
  6. Bookah problems. ;) Although I will concede that Taimi is smarter than the Snaff Savant. And in any case Taimi is my favourite character! :D
  7. I like your guides/videos so would be sad if you stopped. Have learnt a few interesting bits and pieces over the years. Just realised I hadn't subbed so have done now. :)
  8. Staff ambush with IH melts stuff in open world - especially with deceptive evasion and the easy clone production from staff with low cooldowns when traited. It's a beautifully Zen like playstyle that also happens to be functionally efficient. Also aim to line up clones and stand in front of them to build high stacks of might and essentially perma fury (you will have Duelling for DE anyway so also benefit from free Fury minor trait there) from all the ambushes. Just be aware Evasive Mirror can reflect staff projectile away from enemies and not proc the boons on you (but on the flipside you can stand on the other side of a target and reflect a clone's ambush back through it, if you proc mirror via evade). Hmm I dont get it. So you changed it a bit and took Deceptive evasion or is it more for noobs like myself? I don't get what you don't get? Staff ambush with IH and clone/player autos add up a lot of damage for open world play (open world - ie not raids/high level or cm fractals where dealing most damage with axe). Put on some viper gear, take a staff, trait IH and DE at the least, and watch pretty pink orbs melt stuff while pressing one button (dodge). It's both therapeutic and effective. Anything else is personal preference. Changed what? I play my own build created for wvw solo play, which also allows me to chill in open world or do fractals with one set of gear and a single trait change (EM to IH), other than AR infusions... The function in open world happens to be similar between any hybrid/condi build that uses IH so discussion here can be applied to all of them with small variations. Chill and kite in staff while ambushes melt things, swap to axe for more efficient melee burst (or if feeling bored with staff). :) I mean your link to the setup where you do not use Deceptive evasion? So I thought perhaps you do not need it anymore and noobs like me should change that :)http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQNAnfWnsnBNohFMDWoBMMjlVDrMCccCA+DwG4D0MGsDeBA-jxxHQBzT9HAcKAo1TAIjKB3x+DjTfwAV+RGgq1A-eOh I think you're confusing me with Aliam - I know all skritt kind of look alike but trust me we are different! (on that note, still want hive mind playable skritt mesmer xD I would race change instantly from asura to skritt). My build is in signature (swap EM for IH in pve) - it's not optimsed for open world being grieving/cele but translates well across various game modes (just don't play it in raids or cm fractals). Personally I will never play mirage without deceptive evasion in it's current form, it's too useful for me with both axe and staff and enables a smooth/flowing playstyle. :)

  11. Favourite is of course mesmer, specifically mirage now, because just like Will Smith said in MIB - the difference between mesmer and all other classes is they make this look good. B)Also most unique fantasy rpg class with most unique mechanics compared to all the generic rogues/mages/warriors that are the same staple things in every fantasy game. Extremely satisfying aural and visual effects, skill concepts and animations - just a privilege and joy to play, it's like making a painting - therapeutic and satisfying. Mirage in addition is like art/sound therapy - from breaking mirrors to the mirage cloak audio/visual to axe animations and things like staff ambush - it's so kitten sexy to play, I love it. I only play gw2 because of mesmer. Second favourite is melee ranger, though I haven't played it in a long time. Melee ranger specifically - I don't like bows. Just the GS and sword animations are awesome (hilt bash into maul is extremely satisfying) and it's evasive like thief without being spammy/one-dimensional. Least favourites - warrior (generic/boring for me), necro (thematically - I don't like the whole death thing - but then modern Halloween is my least favourite "festival" IRL so that makes sense). Side notes - I like the concept of thief, but the spammy nature of initiative and ridiculous animations on say staff (vault just looks stupid - like Yoda flying around) really put me off. I actually started the game on thief at launch but deleted the character after 2 weeks because just wasn't finding any of the weapon sets fun at the time. Always wanted a staff since then so you'd think I'd play DD for sure but as said, staff animations are too over the top especially on asura - I like the usual asura acrobatics but spamming various staff attack animations doesn't satisfy me. But I do like the deadeye rifle concept and p/p, if only the latter was less spammy. Have been tempted to make a new alt to play deadeye but not sure if I can be bothered with the effort - not really much of an alt player. Rev is cool thematically with the whole mist thing, but I don't like many of the legend characters or feeling of being tools for their power. Ele would be cool if you could specialise only in one two elements. I don't like the whole attunement juggling thing sadly - just feels messy and convoluted. Would like to play single element users rather than full on Captain Planet. Holosmith is an awesome conceptually and with the skill effects - love the whole clean tech harnessing the power of light vibe - but then my favourite aspect of physics has been photonics/optics so that's the reason why. If holosmith had been in the game from launch I may have mained engi - but I can't be bothered to create a dedicated character for it now. Don't like core engi or scrapper. Firebrand is a satisfying concept and has nice skill effects. But overall guardian bores me slightly - nothing particularly excites me when having played with it.
  12. lol, the only thing Focus has going for it is temporal curtain/into the void, which in any case has been overcome by power creep and passive anti-cc since HoT and PoF given how unlikely it is to cc anyone with the pull in a fight (in an actual fight on the ground, not pulling people off walls which is its main use now). To add to that it's nowhere near as powerful as it used to be when the pull could be instantly activated, before they slapped the 1s ICD on into the void - that's plenty of time to react. Nerf that any further and it'll be a dead weapon. Before anything else iWarden needs some sort of buff to make it relevant as unlike every other phantasm since the rework this one is arguably worse than before.
  13. Using up birthday mistlock passkey - shame it's only temporary.
  14. I know this has been suggested in the past, but as I have recently bought all the cosmic gathering tools it has struck me how poor the harvesting tool animation is. The cosmic mining tool is spectacular, the logging tool reasonably good, but the harvesting tool is not up to scratch compared with these two. Also the "pop" effect of the harvesting animation is surprisingly disorienting - this might be a strange request but it would be nice if it was possible to redo the entire cosmic harvesting tool animation to something different and "smoother" while also being more interesting/unique in the way the mining and logging tools are.
  15. I'd rather see the Blood Legion homelands with a charr focused theme for Expansion 3. Save the deep sea dragon for Expansion 4. Also as much as I love underwater combat, and as much as asura magic"science"/handwave can be used to support the idea of many land based player character species suddenly being able to swim about under hundreds of meters (or even several kilometres) of ocean with nothing but an aquabreather on their face in the unending ocean, it still seems a bit difficult to digest unless Taimi comes up with something that protects them from the pressure. Part of the mystery is how inaccessable the ocean is (also for us IRL) which is what makes it even more fascinating.
  16. It's one of the easiest components to get for a legendary now. If you're totally allergic to wvw then stick with a zerg (ie ask in team chat for open tag) to get your participation up and can either continue for a few hours (better as you're being useful) or afk and tag a sentry/flip back a camp near spawn (will usually be with allies and no enemies in sight) when participation falls low. Use the new reward track enrichment and whatever boosters to get it faster. Core tyria map completion is by far the most soul destroying thing for gen1 legendaries. HoT mao completion is also more challenging, especially dragon's stand due to having to wait for the meta event timer. Nevermind that you have to put in conscious effort to get around the maps. Makes GoB look like an easy daily. GoB is a largely passive process once getting participation up. :)
  17. I'm using this skill more regularly now and have noticed quite often when cced the stunbreak does not work immediately, which is really bad in wvw/pvp scenario. I have to hit the skill two or three times sometimes for it to work - or have to waste dodge to break stun which kind of defeats the point of having a stunbreak utility. So most of the time now I'm using StG simply as a backwards dodge with extra evade frame on the floor - ie the stunbreak being unreliable renders that part of it useless. Is it a problem my end/lag, or is it a bug? I'm not sure because every other stunbreak works flawlessly. Anyone else noticed this problem with this skill?
  18. Given the harvesting update I would like to see the cosmic mining tool back on the store. :)
  19. I paste the direct link in the image drop down box (last icon on the right above the reply box).
  20. Personally I can't dream of using Axe mirage without deceptive evasion. It's like toast without butter or fish without chips. Also that frees you up to take Renewing Oasis for additional sustain. :)
  21. Damn, how large is your monitor! :o And with small UI as well. I love the first image in particular. Yeah basic mounts are beautiful - and actually I prefer the sound effects of the basic skimmer. The star one has a surprisingly annoying jingle (sounds like dumbbell chimes or similar glittery sound effect) every time you press the jump button. Compared with the whoosh sound effect of default skimmer, I prefer the default - nicer on the ears. At least the visuals make up for it but would love an option to set the sound effects to default. :) Just thought that worth mentioning for anyone who is on the fence about the star skins and who may be bothered by this sound effect.
  22. Just to add to this, would be great if the glider/aura back item was dyeable and with similar design to the stardust/bound/drift mount skins, for fashion coordination. :)
