  1. i would say we dont do it because the reflect is just overshadowed by other options, reflect itself is pretty strong just we have super high costs to choose them on mesmer usually. the dodge trait is super inconsistent you cant rly time it you cant rly work with it tactically, so its either some lucky reflect when it is not on icd or you just dodge the projectile attack before completely anyway. mimic heal is not good enough compared to other heals outside of chaosline uses, feedback takes a slot from another utility which are mesmers strength, so you have to give up something extremely powerful for the reflect but feedback seens play since reflect is kinda strong as long as harbinger, ranger, de etc are good. however i think 30secs distort would already be too strong for my taste even without reflect. ofc still better than a 17 secs block + core distort with reflect. my preference would be a 30 secs cd on block but make it a shieldblock so it doesnt get completely rupted by unblockable cc or you make it a 35 secs cd block adding a stunbreak so it can be used a bit like distort. and you just dont give virtu distort at all
  2. ye i think we just disagree on mirror images also i didnt say it has no counterplay bc it doesnt need setup. it sure can have setup. it has no counterplay becasue it provides instant dmg (and even high one) together with instant shatters. that instant shatters can be randomly avoided or that you still can play smart and outwait until your enemy doesnt have defense up doesnt give it counterplay by default. yes i agree that mesmer should have unique stuff but that stuff needs to be balanced and fair in power lvl and counterplayability otherwise it is at least not fun for me anymore. unique or not. thats where we have different priorities. but let me get some food before i answer your longer feedback step by step im starving ❤️

  4. also i dont disagree with the general direction the little problem is that this trait even on chrono and virt still turns all distortion skills into reflects. so virt would get a reflect distort on 17 secs cd. so they need to increase the cd of the virtu f4 remarkable when turning it into a distortion and i guess no one would give away a 17 secs block for a 50 secs distort
  5. great feedback, thanks for taking the time. i will react to it step by step as soon as i have the time (lol). but let me say already that i rly like that you know when you are more about fun than actual balance, when you are subjective and do not explain why. i rly can accept this then. you care way more for fun in terms of options than i do, so you have different opinions about some of my suggestions and that is totally fine, since you just come from a different perspective/ mindset.
  6. not sure i get you right, you think im a hidden thief main just trying to nerf a class that isnt my main and that i hate for some reasons?^^ I mean i get why you have this impression hehe 🙂 yes kinda. and i rly didnt expect to get much applause posting a doc with mostly nerfs from other mes mains 🙂 thats why i used so many words to explain where im coming from in the first post here and in the doc (like the overall goal is to bring all classes down to that power and skill requirement lvl as i want mesmer to be, so mesmer will not be garbage compared to them. but i dont have the time to do it for all classes and i think its the duty of other classes mains (or devs) to make those kind of balance suggestions for their own class, esp since they have more clue about their main than i have. so putting the doc in the right context is important. i mean i disagree but that is fine, we can have different opinions about all that (edit: i ofc agree that MoD becoming a stun was a bigger problem than f3 being a stun but disagree to everything else, esp the comparision to basilik is lacking since you cannot just ignore half of the skills nature and additional preparations and limitations this skill has until it becomes the same as instant-f3) 🙂 a stun by itself is imo just too powerful by itself to be allowed to be instant, also a stun has a different purpose than an interupt focused cc, its a lock down cc that enables to hit follow ups, there is no need that a stun has such low counterplay as instant skills have since you dont hit a stun mainly for interrupting but for locking down. otherwise we can give warrior instant stuns too, since at least warrior is not a burst class with oneshot potential (just as thief mostly isnt).

  8. thx for reading and the feedback ❤️ i mean your idea back then was good since it was an improvement over the previous state because also daze mantra should have never become a stun with its instant nature, so the problem with cs trait existed long before sword ambush. basilisk needs to be casted, then has an icon in the buffbar of the thief (so its sure the next attack applies the stun) and then needs to be applied (only skill to apply it instant is steal, so often not even the application is instant). That is far from being the same than instant f3. predictable is only the burst combo, not f3 itself, and sry but ppl who need a stun to hit the gs burst and need to be able to down targets with that combo already have a lot of room for improvement on power gs mes. Gs mes is a burst class but it shouldnt and doesnt need to be a non-interactive oneshot class with the active defense it has (already outside of taking inspi or chaos). lock down cc like stun, knockdown etc should rly never be instant, even immob should not be instantly applied, since even immob is way too strong preventing the 2 main defensive mechanics (movement+dodging) from working. then you have soft cc like daze/chill/cripple. While daze and chill both should only be instant applied when short duration (not longer than 1 sec is a good number). instant skills in general are only fair,healthy balanced when they are not too strong by themself. So they need to be combined with other castskills to be impactful (and then have a tell from the combo with castskills) or they have additional counterplay like daze mantra with the interrupt requirement for having big impact or they are built into a setup mechanic like shatters with clones (here important that the dmg on shatters doesnt become too high, what it can be on chrono and also other power mes builds esp. when stacking too many dmg multiplier).
  9. Some of you guys know that i pretty much gave up hope as one of the last, about getting good and esp skillbased balance in gw2. Esp after CmC broke his promise to read and give feedback to the several months of work from all of us including document i sent to him a long time ago and after seeing how narrowed, biased and unconstructive a lot of balance discussions in forums/discords were handled, i was done with putting effort and work during my free time into talking in detail about balance from my PoV. BUT since it seems there is some room for discussion again and stuff is happening (removing the trade off nonsense and even giving mirage its second dodge back is on the table) i did just edited my balance suggstion doc for mesmer with new hope that it at least get read by devs and maybe even considered in some parts. Keep in mind that im also only a human, so we are no gods and humans always have a bit of bias included. But there is bias and there is bias. I think when it comes to balance, there is only one form of bias allowed: the bias towards healthy, fair and esp skillbased balance. I personally am not biased toward specific classes or specs, im only heavily biased towards high skill ceiling/cap, since i get bored pretty fast when stuff is too easy to play and i prefer to be as least as possible carried by build, since winning by build means nothing to me (and since my personal fun is so heavily determinded by high skill ceiling/cap i dont run into the trap to try to claim stuff i have fun with as skillful while it isnt, the correlation doesnt work that way around for me). Everything else i try to keep as objective as possible, based on non subjective analyses driven by logic, empiric researches and facts and not just propaganda hate claims with barely any explanations or only factoid reasons added. So i always put a lot of time into getting myself informed, researching, and overthinking from different perspectives before i built my opinion. And i know i often overdo it with trying to explain my whole way of thinking and researching, often also with way too many words. So yeah hate me for the wall of text as always lul, but explaining (esp more complex topics) needs more words than just claiming. I also might dont give new and unexperienced players enough room and possibilities to grow with my balance suggestions, even tho i tried to keep that in mind (so me allowing some lower skill floor builds on each class for example), sry for that in advance. My goal is not to discourage new players but more to give them incentives to get good at the game. Feel free to disagree and to add stuff you miss, since i ofc still can be wrong or have overlooked something.   12. you like the most broken one, thats funny 🙂 i think untamed and specter have potential if they wouldnt be so op. but the basic design is at least not 100% only copy pasta from old stuff and they potentially would add skill ceiling compared to other specs/ core of that class. anyway since anet deleted the pvp thread without comment and moved this one into the "no one ever will check here"- section, i guess they dont like the intro 🤣
  13. ofc 😆 no worries i get ya! you know, i prefer power over condi mes by far myself! but it is hard enough to get tryhard ppl to run with a condi mes, most always get a preventive heart attack when i wanna join at/mat with power, so i have to play condi here and there. at least i successfully refused to touch inspiration until now muha. you forgot the most important bit: did you like the intro? 😁 big thx for your nice feedback, im happy you like my gameplay that much ❤️

  15. big thx for your nice feedback, im happy you could enjoy the vid ❤️(mesmers are die hards not try hards indeed lul 😆) hehe thx for the compliment and you are ofc not wrong with it being only a montage. but i rly try to give a realistic view over what happens during i play also when i ofc dont show every downstate or death in each match i cut and use in the vid. i ofc also dont show when i just stand on a save spot freecasting for 1 min. its just not intersting to watch from my pov then. i select towards interesting stuff to watch, ofc also some highlights but i dont select to make me or the class look better than it actually is.
  16. 1. every tryhard mat/ tournament team hardly prefers to play without a mesmer if they have the choice, no matter how good the mesmer plays. there is no discussion about that at this point. esp power mirage would still be unviable with 2 dodge so the one dodge is indeed not the reason for it. also i still would prefer to just bring other classes down to a more skillful, less broken, less spammy, less facetank lvl instead buffing mesmer up to other classes state (who would have fun to play a bladesworn in pink? at least not me). 2. never said that since its not true. you have several ways to hit your stuff on virtu, also vs good players. the easiest way (and its sad that it is working that way actually, at least vs the average player) is to just outspam the opponents defense until you hit while spamming blocks, you also can hit your stuff by good timing but hey we dont want high skill ceiling/cap gameplay requirement in the game right? thats why mesmer is hated and virtu was made as an simplified abomination of basic shatter mes so the avg gw2 player finally doesnt get lost in clones and complain on forums/discords (didnt rly work out it seems lulz). 3. yes thief is mechanically hardcountered by gs power mes since game releasse, mes only has to throw one eye in thiefs direction and the thief can say hi to god. thats how it always has been and how it will ever be! 4. that i still can make mesmer work doesnt mean its worth playing it... when i can just switch to another class and have the same or more impact with less effort, less risk and less skill requirement. the only reason to play mesmer is my personal preference towards high skill ceiling/ cap builds. thx for watching, have a nice day 🙂

  19. ah kitten nvm it didnt bounce from the clone i only showed the bounce from another near target. sry for dat. but the explanation makes it still clear tbh, the way gs is supposed to works is, it bounces either from the nearest enemy or nearest friendly foe. so it bounce from clone when no one else is near enough. but if they plan to remove the bounce bc they are not able to fix virtu issues with gs2 they will kill the whole identity and mechanical deepness of that weapon. but would be just a typical clueless anet move of avoiding to solve a problem and instead make stuff clunky while killing skill ceiling/cap.
  20. hehe kinda. ppl often mistake it as bunker side node or pure duel build but the build i crafted is in the end exactly what current meta is looking for: a very good tf build with side node potential can deal with core necros well (both in duels, incl dealing with +1s and in tfs) and can easy do 500k+ dmg in a match where it can tf a lot, and that with insane peel abilities and utility for your teammates. so the usual "its chaos sage staff, so it has no dmg" thinking doesnt fit reality. and the strenght over having it instead double necro is, that it has different good matchups compared to core necro, so team can react very flexible on enemy comps and its no problem when enemy tf (so as your own tf as follow up) is rotating into the mes and the core nec is side noding during that. we also had rly good results with running without any core necro and i just take that job. and ye good calls esp on those key rotations (thief, pb mes, holo etc. coming) and keyskills (lich, elixier s invuln, guard elite out etc) are very important and still need to happen more often in our team 🙂 but the way is the goal here, the fun is the work with a completely new team and getting better together with the time, not rushing the easiest and shortest way to a gizmo. also when it is very hard to find and then keep up the ppl so they dont insta leave when getting an offer from older and more known teams. so its hard to get the consistency over a longer time as a team, even more with a nobody like me on an offmeta class, and that in a meta ppl prefer to be carried by double core necro. anyway sry for the essay muha. big thx for watching and your feedback. its highly appreciated! ❤️

  22. 0.35 yes he stealthed and wasnt seen again. its more of an intro clip i only wanted to show the dmg and interrupts so i didnt rly explain what happened after. same as with the dh in the clip after this one 5:52 and 6.52 is all the same situation, there isnt a cut in it 🙂 11.58 ooof dont rly remember anymore. but nothing interesting from my pov happend. i prob just went to a point and capped it. or maybe i just chased the low hp nec with 2 teammates and then capped far. so watching me 3v1 a low hp nec or free capping isnt rly worth the time in an vid that is already 30+mins long. 13:49 was only interesting from my pov in the start since i wanted to show the ability to make counter pressure even in outnumbered situations to provide a good fight start for your team rotating to you later. if i remember right holo just escaped bc no chase follow up from our roamers. came back to the fight full hp and oneshotted one of my teammates with barrage. we lost that long and boring fight in the end. 14:16 the stomp was supposed to be in the vid, dunno how that happend. i wanted to cut after that bc there wasnt anything happening from me worth showing/ interesting enough to be in a vid that is already pretty long. only wanted to showcase the fight stabilisation i could bring (i just joined the fight which was already pressured and my teammates were in cd disadventage) by helping with our downstate situation and then mostly solo pressuring the holo and how i provided chaosstorm with a chance of aegis for my stomping teammates. 19.12 yes here it made sense to show the thief rotating away from me, in the first clip after intro the thief just disappeared in stealth and i dont even know where he went after that.oh and i remember that i just liked the cut moment bc the axe ambush i crossed looked pretty nice. i planned to put that in slowmotion for some nice sync with the music but forgot the slomo in the end lul

  24. hi its a fair point i even mentioned in my text editing. this build has lower chase/finish potential and when being on sides instead teamfights, it highly capitalize when your roamers can +1 you to finish the already pressured target. you can be sure, i never cut a fight where i was running out of cds or i was about to lose, i only cut fights where targets escaped bc i could not chase them since i would never kill them in a moment they just run away in stealth or with worm port through objectives/ into nirwana or with nearly perma superspeed (sometimes also bc we needed the cap so i had to stay capping or prevent getting decapped from behind during a useless timewaste chase). also when you fight vs good and organised teams getting downstates is harder simply bc those ppl barely stay in losing situations until they die, since they know staying alive is key. so its harder to show fights in 1v1 which ends with a kill i do solo without a +1 from one of my roamers (thief, rev), who has more chase and finish potential and what is exactly the job of a roamer, to snack targets low on cd and hp. so no, there is no bias, i just show how reality is, incl the downsides of a build that is balanced enough to not be able to do everything in conquest without any trade off. thx for watching tho ❤️
