  1. I'd rather not dedicate all my limited free time to just this one game in order to unlock a quality of life feature. There's grinds, and then there's GW2 grinds. At this point in the game's life, I think it would be reasonable for Anet to allow you to switch between stats if you have crafted the entire ascended armor set for each set of those stats. Basically, you unlock something like Berserker stats if you craft Zojja's entire ascended armor set and then can switch to them at any time you want on an ascended armor set (without the dumb Mystic Forge thing already in the game). Legendary armor would still retain its "prestige" because it has unique looks, but everyone else can get the QoL stuff that the game honestly needs this far into its life cycle.
  2. At this point in the game’s life, it just boggles my mind that legendary armor (which is nothing but a quality of life feature allowing you to swap between stats) still takes what it does to unlock and use. Yeah, yeah, I get this is a “horizontal progression” game, but seriously. This is insane and does nothing to encourage me to interact with the system at all.
  3. Looks like I won’t be bothering with the new one then. I already did all this with my original skyscale, I ain’t doing it again for a freaking mount skin. Anet needs to learn the difference between acceptable grind and “grind until your fingers fall off and your eyeballs melt” grind. It’s not doing anything to encourage me to increase my “engagement” time when stuff like this gets added into the game.
  4. Yeah, when they announced PvE legendary armor, I was like “cool, something I might be able to actually obtain”. Then I saw what was required to get the armor and how much it’s going to cost and I said “screw that”. Once again, Anet makes something take way too long and cost way too much to get what is in essence nothing more than a QoL feature (which is insane to me). Oh well, guess I’ll just keep using my three sets of ascended armor that I have and just rotate between them. If something like this is supposed to help encourage more playtime/engagement from people, it’s having the exact opposite effect. I see this and think “yeah, I’ll just go do something else instead”.

  6. I think the guy you are responding to is an Anet employee. It's the only thing that explains his pure incompetence and ineptitude on the matter. Edit: watch out y’all. The mods are infracting people for dissent apparently. Seems they’re a little touchy what with the balance team leaks that happened and all. Heaven forbid we express our frustration over the current bullsh*t we are dealing with.
  7. Or just get a balance team in general. Judging by the way things continue to be handled, I'm convinced they don't even have a balance team at all anymore. Because there surely aren't human beings on this planet that are THAT stupid and blind. Right? Right!?
  8. It’s still an absolutely lackluster ranged option no matter what (and the ONLY option). And what about core revenant and herald? No matter how Anet apologists try to spin it, Revenants got screwed in the range department outside of Renegade.
  9. It’s the only ranged option Revenants have outside of Renegade. And it’s extremely weak on top of that. So basically, if you want to have any kind of viable ranged option in PvE, you are FORCED to play Shortbow Renegade. It’s an absolute kitten design and Anet needs to add another ranged option for Revenants outside of Renegade or at least buff hammer in PvE to make it viable.
  10. Allow me to translate the things that Anet says: "Buff" = "nerf" "Balance" = "nerf" "Change" = "nerf" "Make more interesting" = "nerf" "Bug fix" = "nerf" "Tooltip change" = "nerf" "Bring into line" = "nerf" "Reworked" = "nerf" "Updated" = "nerf" "Insert literally anything else they say here" = "nerf" "Nerf" = "nerf into oblivion"
  11. Anet has always had this fetish of making new armor stat combos harder to acquire for some unknown reason. I’ve never understood why they think it’s a good idea to do this when people just want to test the new kitten out and have fun with it.
  12. It’s a pointless system that was added because A.) people kept asking for it and B.) they were really scraping the bottom of the barrel for mastery tracks to add in EoD. Oh, and to add another grind towards getting legendary weapons. Basically, something that can be ignored by 99% of the community with nothing lost from it. EoD masteries feel so much more pointless after what we got in PoF.
  13. Your math is off. Even if you bought the $100 gem package right now, it wouldn’t give you enough gold to buy a Gen 1 legendary.
  14. Anyone with half a brain can see that the amount of bag space you get on a new character is abysmally pathetic. And the only way to get more? Grind and grind and grind for gold or pony up real world money. It’s an artificial pain point that Anet purposely puts in place to try and get people to spend money. Cosmetics are one thing. Something that most sensible people see as more of a necessity in an MMO like inventory space? Come on man. Get real.
  15. You’re using a game that is literally pay to win as an example…
  16. It is pretty bad when a Buy to Play game doesn’t give you a reasonable amount of storage or bag slots, that’s for sure. Anet has a bad habit of monetizing the game in ways that are generally reserved for the likes of F2P games. It’s something that’s always irritated me, especially when I go to make a new character and have almost no bag slots available on that character that I then have to waste a ton of gold on or spend real world money on. Don’t get me wrong, I love playing the game, but some of Anet’s monetization decisions are pretty bad from a consumer perspective.
  17. 1. Maps are generally pretty to look at and do their job for the most part. Although Echovald was a letdown in my opinion. 2. The elite specs leave a lot to be desired. Most feel rushed and half baked. Several professions are better off sticking with their HoT or PoF elite specs. 3. The new masteries feel soulless and pointless. You know Anet was scraping the bottom of the barrel when an entire mastery line is dedicated to unlocking this expansion’s merchant and crafting hub. And another one focused around……fishing. 4. The Dragon’s End meta is still a complete mess and should have been completely redesigned from the ground up. And this is coming from someone who has beat it more than once and got the turtle mastery fully leveled up. 5. The story was good for the first half to two thirds of it, then it quickly dropped off a cliff and was super rushed in order to just wrap up the Elder Dragons storyline. In the end, it left me very unsatisfied with how it was handled. 6. The huge and unnecessary nerf to self sustain at the launch of the expansion was completely unjustified and is just a classic example of Anet not knowing their kitten from a hole in the ground. Overall, not a terrible expansion, but still worse in a lot of ways compared to the prior two.
  18. For the love of God, do not give Anet the idea of reverting Vindicator back to the original style of your legend skills swapping upon use. That was such a clunky, useless, frustrating, and idiotic design choice on their part. The way it is now actually gives us far more control over it and actually allows us to play the way we want to play it.
  19. I saw a build from Vallun that used celestial gear with Greatsword and mace/axe. It converts chill effects into torment damage. His build was meant for WvW but it looks like it could be slightly altered to work in the open world.
  20. Agreed. It’s very telling that Anet had a hard time coming up with ideas for mastery tracks this expansion when something as mundane and simple as a crafting and merchant hub was used as one.
  21. Looking back on it, it has to come from Echovald regardless, because there are no speaker enemies to fight in Dragon’s End. Must be a typo with the ingame description.
  22. I got it as a random drop while map completing in Echovald. It dropped from a random Speaker enemy there.
  23. I think this is one of the most self absorbed, clueless, unfounded, and worthless comments I’ve seen on the internet in quite some time. Good job. I’m actually quite impressed at the sheer level of your ignorance AND arrogance.
  24. It wasn't a problem. Anet just doesn't like people being able to run around and do things solo with relative ease. Because heaven forbid the easiest content in the game (open world PvE) be something casual and easy to do for the people who just want to relax.
  25. The empty maps thing is so true and very worrisome. For a new expansion, every time I’ve been on I haven’t seen very many people in the new zones and zone chat has been basically silent. I thought it was kind of weird and chalked it up to most likely just being in an overflow instance. But I keep hearing more and more people say that they are in empty zones too…..
