  1. You bought everything for the game before even the point of figuring out the difference between one handed/two handed/off hand weapons and you asked CS before asking in game where people would have answered in about 5 seconds you. I doubt the "long time experienced gamer" part because of that mate.
  2. When these things are brought up it doesn't matter if it's not fair to others, it only has to be fair to them.
  3. Leave it up to the WvW community to ask for a system, then at the same time cry about it not being needed and complain when it got ""canned"".
  4. Your comment would have validity if the host servers were the non English servers, except it's English servers getting German servers linked to them. People join English servers because that's a language they speak or it's the only language they speak, it's kinda understandable that people speaking English don't necessearily want to play with a server that doesn't speak English. What's the point of different languages when it gets ignored when linking?
  5. I don't think making an entirely new game, because "game performance bad" makes any sense for anyone. If you struggle to run the game with barely anyone nearby the issue may not be the game. There are areas that run like junk cough Amnytas cough, but the only time I've ever seen noticable FPS drops was in WvW when I still had my old PC with a 750Ti or when I'm playing on my laptop with a 4300M+igpu.
  6. People would transfer regardless of when it's announced.
  7. A few days ago someone made another thread about DPS meters and that got merged into it.
  8. Notice the common theme with these complainers though. The common thread. They bring up complaints and whenever presented with counter arguments they swap to a different argument, dancing around their pont, they post strawman arguments whenever get countered. They can't argue in an honest and open way, because they know they have no leg to stand on. You went from "DPS meters cause low end game playerbase" through "but WoW is dying", MMO player numbers and "but this that is innovative and thrown away" to end up with whining about others bringing up strawman arguments and going on about how being called out on your kitten is ruining PvE combat. That's one hell of an arc there mate.
  9. AoHM, Pious Renewal, PA, Pious Renewal, PF, Pious Renewal, TMS, Pious Renewal, WS - repeat. Spawn spirits, go eat while Spirits kill everything, maybe buff them with PB. Such innovative combat system.
  10. Except that general didn't drop out of basic 25 years ago, but paid the tuition fees for military university(bought the game) and served since then. Even if the account is unused the character is created and if done before HoT they even BOUGHT the game, something those new players who "can't catch up" now don't have to do. Using the hypothetical person who bought GW2 in 2012 for like 50€, made a character and immediately stopped playing to try to justify why not giving new players all the birthday gifts all others who have been actively playing since before, buying expansions is just screaming entitlement. "Give me what they earnt throughout the years without me having to do anything for it"
  11. We're following Zhaitan's teachings about recycling.
  12. Higher stat boost, twice the duration, extra buffs the cake doesn't have and the issue is that it's.. not infinite uses? That's your cost, having to craft it for each use.
  13. An hour ago you said this: It's obtainable by everyone, it's like the birthday cake, wasn't that what you're looking for? Also, the birthday cakes also have cost attached to them, to buy them on other characters they cost like 30k Karma and 5 gold.
  14. Oyster Soup. Comes with different extras, but it works just like the cake, it even gives higher attributes.
  15. I think people should be allowed to get 10-11 years worth of birthday gifts in exchange for a debuff on their accounts that they are limited to core professions for 3 years, can't use mounts for 5 years, have no access to Fractals for a year, no access to any of the gold and material farms the game currently offers them while also removing all the easy gear options Anet added over the years. All while being locked out of any Living World and Expansion content for a certain time until it would "release", like in the past. Then 10-11 years later that debuff will be removed. That should be a fair exchange I suppose.
  16. You know people have way too much time on their hands with nothing to worry about in life when their main problem is people emoting in a video game. I can't imagine the reaction of anyone complaining about emotes or forum reactions being "offensive" trying out pretty much any other game. 10 years ago getting tbagged was the least of the things that could happen when someone killed you and now there are complaints about forum icons hurting feelings... Seriously.
  17. If your point is that Arc is the reason why GW2 doesn't have a big end game scene and not Anet's direction from the start on not going down WoW's path then it does fall apart, because WoW wouldn't be anywhere near if DPS meters did what you're implying.
  18. This whole point kinda falls apart when you realize that WoW, which is pretty much the biggest MMO out there with Raid focus also has a community heavily relying on DPS meters. GW2 never started with massive endgame, GW2 is not designed for you to blitz through levels then just do dungeons, raids and whatever, because that's the endgame content.
  19. Because the game's been powercrept. If you look back a few years you'll see maps not only finish with a few minutes to spare, but even fail. Now it's pretty much a challenge to fail Gerent.
  20. Yes, I have an argument, don't complain people bringing up how quick they finish their Skirmish chest, "bcause that's with hours put in" when your comparison is Guild FC on all Raid Wings. You're complaining that it takes longer to get a Legendary that is entirely kittening soloable and only requires any form of activity every 10 minutes, because you're new to the game mode while you're using Coal as an example to something that is quicker, except, if you grab someone who has never done any Raids EVER or touched WvW which would they gravitate towards? The ring that requires proper gearing, 9 other players and hours of practice or the ring that requires you to just exist in a game mode? The effort Conflux requires would earn you a kick in a minute from any Raid, so of course it takes longer. Any complaint regarding something taking too long in WvW is just stupid, because unlike in PvE or PvP you barely need to try since WvW rewards you for anything barely above the "just exist" level.
  21. Those kinds of encouragements yield the "I got kicked for no reason" rants where a day or two after the thread is created OP admits to joining groups expecting experience without knowing anything.
  22. The same way we got map completion in Bjora, Drizzlewood and Gyala before they were fully released. It will count the released portion of the map only for the map completion.
  23. The "Guild FC in 6 hours" for Coal compared to just hopped into WvW time for Conflux, but calling others out when they are talking about how long it takes them at X rank is peak comedy. What makes it go into the stratosphere is "you can just do easy raids". This actually reminds me of the WoW guy from a few days ago who complained about GW2 taking too long to level and gear for new players, but in WoW you can power level in a day then do M+ for gear and get to max ilevel in a few days. Same energy. This is bad grind, because it takes too long with no experience, it takes longer than that other thing that you can do in less time if you're part of an experienced group after gearing and learning roles and encounters.
