Anyways so like, I'm just raging here because there's a lot of frustrating match ups, but since fighting Holosmith as condi rev is beyond hopeless since they're basically immune to condis, I think I should be equally immune to strike damage via Embrace the Darkness and Soulcleave also pulsing blind or aegis or something stupid like that. I've given up on actual fairness. Anyways uhh, really frustrating how they won't make any changes to Renegade, Kalla still needs a ton of help and I'm not entirely convinced you can do so with the way the mechanics of the legend work, and Mallyx/condi rev in general's been pretty underwhelming since the torment change. Maybe it's time to make the spec actually a decent build so Rev can play something other than the same sword/sword herald and vindicator (now with extra hammer flavor) builds they've been mostly stuck to for the last uhh... the entire time the class has existed You missed the mark really badly, I don't say that to be mean or anything, but it's very clearly still really bad and I would like to be properly rewarded for my skill level and for making good plays, and it feels bad when that doesn't work or when I don't have the options to actually DO anything against something that's good. Why no quick adjustments to remedy that despite the spec/legend being one of the biggest targets of the patch? I made this thread in August, they gave out the pierce for free in October, and there's been almost no meaningful improvements in that time to Renegade, both in its traits and for Kalla to make it stronger when it's clear all Renegade builds are some of the worst possible condi/power/support builds out there DESPITE a significant rework. Again I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just extremely frustrated, but that's kinda pathetic. How does this happen?

  5. I've been avoiding making a real comment because it's not gonna actually convince anyone but whatever: I don't think mesmer players know what it's like to actually be glass and vulnerable. Not on a class with possible stealth(s), a long block on shield, non-targeted blink, continuum split, distortion, sword 2 and signet of illusions. For example, Shorts is very good, but he also regularly overextends himself and plays really greedy in non-important matches, then manages to escape them anyways when something actually glass would have died just for thinking about it. I think what's actually happening is mesmer players feel like they deserve to instantly kill anyone if they press their buttons but also don't want any of the consequences or drawbacks that necessarily come with that, nor for other players to have the ability to stop or survive it. Thief players are the same.

  7. The nature of how boons work will almost always force that to happen in organized pve, but for other game modes it's quite frustrating. Like, if that warrior wants to play a decent condi zerk that can melee as mace or sword and then has ranged pressure with the longbow swap, he's kind of out of luck? That's lame. Admittedly warriors are largely forced into side noding no matter what so that's the only thing their weapons matter for, but the weapon's design doesn't help that much in giving them ranged pressure.
  8. There is a reason this season's so deflated now that obsidian armor exists. Very much lacking people (mostly more casual players) feeding points into the ladder because ascended shards aren't anywhere near as appealing or valuable anymore. They could have sped up both pip gain AND added them to unranked prior to obsidian armor tbh, like who cares just go for it. Average math is ~82 hours of doing SotO content to get a full legendary set, not including the clovers and such, for reference and comparison.
  9. Because the dodge doesn't have weapon damage in its formula like Rupturing Smash does. It's always gonna be a large number relative to weapon skills because of that. It's why a lot of utility skills have relatively high coefficients too. If you think it's too much damage, say that. Don't just read a number off the wiki without understanding what you're looking at. It makes you look like you're developing the ranger class when you do that
  10. rev shortbow is the coolest weapon kit in the entire game who needs any more actually i really wish warrior's longbow wasn't heavily encouraged, arguably forced into melee because of fan of fire and poor tracking on pin down also the ability to obstruct your own lobbed combustive shots and arcing arrows by running around LoS before they hit the ground. that's silly too.
  11. Both ArenaNet and the playerbase have a very clear hatred of Renegade as a spec because of two very short periods of time despite the cause of both of them not even existing anymore. It won't happen. The Kalla rework accomplished absolutely nothing in terms of making it more playable and won't actually work unless they make the summons relatively low cost/CD, which puts it back into the "aoe spamming" category that they hated to begin with (it wasn't really a good aoe vomit spec, but that's their reasoning as to why they left it abandoned for like 6 years). The legend has 600 range, no finishers, no condition cleanse, lost its unique -50% condition damage taken modifier on the heal, anywhere from a 1.5-2s delay on the spirits actually doing their effect, extremely high energy costs, and is a pure damage spec with very little ability to sustain, disengage, or protect itself from getting w keyed. The only way to balance that, plus the new design of the summons being a one and done, would be to make them be nearly one shots, and that's both stupid and never happening. Functionally, Mallyx/Condi Rev builds have massive problems with their design in that energy is inherently a bursty/window based mechanic, and condi generally needs to have sustained application alongside actual varied types instead of 99% Torment, so that's not happening either unless they accidentally screw up Herald to where it wins by pure sustain again. Mallyx has been a mess since they reworked it + Corruption. Centaur and support builds are bad because of the reliance on the tablet, plus staff and scepter are both poop. Decent projectile hate though, but it's just a 1v1 time waster, better at it than most supports tho I suppose. Jalis is... mostly fine tbh, just doesn't really fit with the role the entire class is forced into in pvp. Herald, on the other hand, fills the same role, and Vindicator's the only thing both players and developers care about, so it's screwed too.
  12. I don't think that's quite true. It hasn't won one since condi rev won a ways back, I don't believe (someone can fact check me on that), but there's been plenty of shortbow revs in both NA and EU in the actual matches. Part of the problem there is that shortbow has no defensive capability and it's all projectiles, in a game where proj hate ramped up dramatically since EoD came out. Support Tempest was really popular through some of that same period, Catalyst was everywhere, Shield Master existed, that kinda stuff. Not to say that means it's overperforming. Personally I think it is, but that's beside the point. Just that it being present at all means at least a little bit relative to some things just not showing up at all. Nobody's seen a power zerk period in that same time period, or probably a mech, herald and ren are almost entirely absent, etc

  16. It activates it, though? That's what the proposed change is about. Make unblockables not activate it. Everything else is just a bunch of ACKSHUALLY semantics.
  17. I mean, if it needs buffs then sure, I'm not gonna say no. But I don't think it would actually make the builds that much stronger in pvp. I think both Fiendish Tenacity and Permeating Pestilence are usually better in spvp. Anyways, Heartpiercer's pretty weak since they removed the pierce on it. Maybe make it improved bleeds + chance on crit to do a condi. Ren is pretty crit interactive already, so it'd synergize and make sense. My dream for that would be a non-bleed or non-torment condition, simply for spread. Burning, Poison, Confusion, I don't particularly care. Unlikely since for some reason this class is only allowed to do those two conditions for like 99% of its damage, but it'd be a blessing. Most Renegade traits kinda suck, but the Master choices are very underwhelming for both power and condi. The MAT finished today, maybe we'll get a balance preview here shortly.
  18. Pretty sure some guy posted a picture on the snowcrows discord of a hammer only test and it was like 35k or something. Standard power vindi build I assume. Think he said it's better than shortbow for pure power now.

  21. i'ma be honest, i played so little corruption back in the day there's no way i would remember it off the top of my head. shiro/jalis shortbow was still fun at that point. so was herald lol anyways invoke torment is garbo and i would genuinely rather have rampant vex OR frigid precision back over it you can't afford to play near anyone without rabid and you can't afford to play rabid amulet or you throw away all your damage because 900 precision is wasted sustained and more cover condi is what condi rev builds badly need anyways like, if you compare yourself to virtually any other condition build in pvp, you've generally got less cc than them, less survivability than them even if you DO wear rabid amulet, less burst mobility (mallyx hopping can be nice over a long enough distance but isn't saving you from the w key like other escapes can), less cover and less sustained condi application, poor cleansing, not really any blinds or cripple, weaker combo finishers, uhh... there's prolly other stuff too you win in SOME comparisons in burst application, and that's about it? one skull grinder applies like 9 different conditions, condi reaper has 5 different CCs minimum including 2 on its dps weapon set and 2 in its dps shroud form, while still being better than you in most of the above areas. where are the strengths of legends like mallyx and kalla supposed to be at this point? that kinda stuff's really dumb
  22. look i got nothing against you, but surely you have to realize the irony in your constant defense of warrior while also insisting that the things YOU personally think are overpowered actually are but totally not warrior nah it in fact needs buffs

  24. I want to play Rabid amulet so I can actually survive getting w keyed by every single spec in the game without giving up 900 stats worth of my amulet. Even though it's still a significant damage loss over Carrion because shortbow and Kalla both have really high power coefficients. Everyone except Guard and Teef has one, sometimes two of them. Put it in Renegade, put it in Corruption, idc, just let me play the stupid facetank amulet like every other condi build gets to even though they also have better survivability and cc and mitigation options thx oh also make the mallyx heal ignore poison already good lord that entire legend's been a disaster since you changed resistance/resolution
