  1. What? I don't think most people have a problem with warrior being a relatively tanky sidenode build at all. It's simply a matter of degree. Druid's getting dunked tomorrow for that very reason. And look at this, you've got warrior players here who think staff, something that makes you nearly immortal, should also have a second CC on it? That it isn't good enough already? The only silly thing about the weapon is that with 1 unblockable stack, it removes itself immediately from the weakness application. And that's more of a design issue than something making it weak. But you are though. Warrior players are completely lost in their own sauce and think the class is garbage, when it's not and hasn't been for a long time, and therefore it deserves everything it has and is immune to any sort of balancing criticism because one power build isn't very good.
  2. Right, but your defense is "it's not OP because it dies to builds that explode everything" That's not a counterargument. That happens to everyone. It's a completely meaningless way to determine balance at that point. Something would be very wrong if you weren't subjected to those guaranteed deaths.
  3. Retargeting helps, on projectiles, movement skills, whatever else. Shouldn't have to do it, but it'll up your accuracy considerably. If something like ranger lb4 whiffed as regularly as pin down does, it'd be terrible, it'd be unfair. I get that they wanted to make it unique to ranger's, especially considering they were the only two longbow kits in the game at launch, and I do kinda like the theme of shooting slower but burning arrows at people, it just makes for a pretty poor ranged weapon outside of some trait interactions and the multiple hitboxes. Not even really accomplishing its intended purpose at that point if it barely works from a distance. I don't think there's any other projectiles slow enough that you can fire them and then obstruct yourself by stepping around LoS on pvp maps (mortar kit, maybe?), but it's easy on longbow.
  4. literally everybody does that's what those builds do, lol
  5. woe is me those poor warriors only ranging somewhere between good to overpowered since the defense rework it's so rough being one
  6. idk i would love to trade the melee longbow for a better ranged condi wep, even if that meant scorched earth lost having a 25 target cap instead of 5 i like fire characters in rpgs but everything's so slow on it and also most of its pvp/wvw use comes from cleansing ire/adrenal health or the 25 target cap, instead of being like an actual scary condi wep better tracking would be nice too
  7. if you got hit by the same amount of attacks in strike damage you would be instantly dead there's really annoying and dumb condi builds but it's not any different from strike damage, and heck you could just play something functionally immune to conditions like holo if they really bothered you that much lol
  8. brother you get clapped in unranked on your hammer druid or whatever and then immediately say something about balance doesn't even matter whether or not it's something good or you got cheesed that's why you got clowned on
  9. Probably not. I don't know about necro swords but for example the zerker staff burst page doesn't have the correct pvp coefficient on it yet, you have to look in the patch notes on the 27th or whatever for it.
  10. that's kalla literally just play kalla if you wanna be the gw2 version of rit, i don't understand why the entirety of the rev playerbase seems to hate it
  11. Right, but those weapons, the effects they have, whether or not they have CC on them, etc, were built around them being exclusive to that elite. Was pistol a problem on harb? Or torch on scourge? Not really. I don't think the design of the weapons is the problem here.
  12. please do explain the massive increase in things like aura uptime and sharing, the speed at which some formerly relatively slow classes like guard and necro can get around the map, damage differences between similar build types, both between and within classes, and honestly the biggest one is just how many more available options some elites have over others damage may or may not be back to around the levels it was before depending on your build, but i don't understand how someone could look at an elite like vindicator, compare it to core, herald or renegade, and NOT see how much more it has in almost every area, and that's an elite that's not even considered very good atm. holo is effectively immune to conditions, something no engineer spec before that was able to do (to the same degree and without giving up EVERYTHING to do it), while not being proportionally weaker to strike in exchange for that are those kinds of things not power creep?
  13. Honestly I don't particularly care what approach they take so long as they do something to make it a scary button. When a Vindi sets up Spear you have to pay attention, when a Renegade sets up bombardment you... don't even notice or care. The spec as a whole has an incredible lack of moments that make you afraid. Given they literally stated on stream they would like to see power renegade more playable, and not just an alacrity source in fractals, I think they need to rework traits, probably in the grandmaster line, that would tilt bombardment towards power/burning. Like Vindication becomes the de facto power trait and makes them hit harder, Lasting Legacy adds more burning or another condition, something like that. It took 6 years to get changes to Kalla, Renegade traits are literally some of the worst in the game, let's not spend another 6 before changing any of them.
  14. Been goofing around experimenting with Vindication in spvp, whether or not it's worth it over Lasting Legacy on any kind of build. If I'm gonna burn 30 energy on a citadel bombardment, I really expect more than like 2 or 3 of them to hit a LITERAL DOWNED BODY. 2 hits out of 10 missles? If I was Vindication that's an extra 1-2 hits based on that kind of percentage. For that 30 energy, I got 1200 strike damage + ~1400 burning (carrion amulet). It's a profession skill so it's not exactly directly comparable, but GS2 would crit for like 5.5k+ on the same target as a power build. For five energy. Even when you throw it on the middle of a point in a teamfight and nobody avoids it, it still doesn't feel very impactful. Please do something about the most fun skill the elite spec has. I don't care if you change it for power or for condi. Make them worth casting. Make it the underwater version that's targeted for all I care. It's consistently bad even on stationary targets. Not usually 2 hits bad, but always bad.
  15. Delayed damage and slow traveling attacks are really inconsistent about this across a handful of skills. Some work, some don't, there's seemingly no logic behind why. It's annoying, shouldn't be that way.
  16. buddy you're fuming so hard you don't even understand what you're reading it's an online game, of course people cheat explicitly to ruin the experience for others i quite literally said that they do exist they're just nowhere near as common as you've convinced yourself but gl with your crusade i'm sure you're accurate lol
  17. idk cause game's not competitive anymore and rev shortbow is the coolest weapon in the entire game
  18. yeah sorry they only went out of their way to fix these kinds of problems for thief axe lol
  19. I mean this in the nicest way possible, because I understand the frustration with the actual cheaters like the people in the FFA arena: The vast majority of people you think are hacking or macroing probably aren't. I promise you it's actually an extremely rare thing. It takes too long for them to get banned when they do show up which is really annoying and unacceptable, but the only actual frequent/common form is the pve farming bots.
  20. Fun fact about it too, the third attack in the chain has literally infinite range. It'll always hit your selected target if you can activate it by hitting things near you.
  21. For what it's worth, if you have it up/don't mind using the cooldown, you can weapon swap at the tail end of the sword 3 cast to get the full dash and it won't drain HP. Not a bad option in pvp when running back from respawn or something.
  22. They're stronger yes but I don't think that's true for most of the elites. There's a clear difference between an elite like necro and scourge, when compared to something like ranger and untamed. I would argue that Vindicator is closer to the latter since they changed the alliance to be a manual flip and added the second dodge bar back. It's just a straight upgrade over core, herald, or renegade for almost every build/role, and the only difference is the dodge. There's nothing like facets or citadel orders to interact with, which give at least some distinction to the previous elites.
  23. The bigger problem most of the time is mobility and the relative inability to punish the thief unless you're one yourself, usually. They could make some smaller changes, like reveal on block, making reveal skills better, but that stuff isn't going to help that much. The only one that actually scares a decent thief is Lock On. It's part of why for so long thief was meta defining and the team with the better one won, and the only way they could figure out how to address it was adding more and more initiative cost to SB5.
  24. The most energy hungry elite, no changes to its energy management Some of the lowest sustain in the game but no higher damage than anyone else Zero condition cleanse because it's expected to tank through it via pure mitigation except it's losing that Poor ability to protect or peel itself in a way that the Darkrazor change won't help, if they even get hit by it in the first place Little to no ability to disengage unlike Vindi 600 range summons that have half their power budget invested into enemy/self so you only really wanna throw em when you and your target are on top of each other No cooldown changes to Citadel Orders or summons Band Together is a neat idea but the empowers force you to use a ton of energy on a skill you might not want to cast, like Razorclaw as power, in order to get the full value out of the skills, particularly the extra barrier on the heal. On the plus side it looked like Soulcleave finally does the proper damage instead of literally 1/4th the tooltip. Bug? Intentional? Whooooo knows, there was never a specific nerf to it. So that's cool I guess. If it ends up being better I'm almost positive it'll be because they finally changed numbers for the first time since literally 2018 (well okay there was one change in 2019), not because it got ranger spirits. Finally, my own gripe because it's my favorite build, condi renegade is almost all burst condition damage via SB4, sevenshot, citadel bombardment, etc, but poor ability to lock people in it, poor cover conditions, and zero sustained pressure, so it just... doesn't work despite being originally created to BE revenant's condition elite. It's also a relatively poor user of rabid amulet, so it can't outlast via toughness, but can't sustain or avoid damage to make strong use of carrion either, which just compounds the damage delivery problem.
