  1. I distinctly remember flying around in a Griffon back in WoW Cata long before GW2 even existed.
  2. @TheSeraphim.7413 I'm quoting Virdo to help you understand how trading post works and why balancing classes won't solve the trading post issue. If you nerf one build another will shine and prices will once again rise for the gear set of the most popular builds for pugs. ANET could manually set lower prices, but it's just gonna shoot up again. It's called supply and demand. It's economics 101. If the OP wants to raid he needs the expansions anyhow in order access the content. The expansions has solo content that will reward you with customizable exotics. The issue here is people don't want to take the time to farm their own exotics and cry when TP prices are too high. It's not difficult to farm through story and it takes less than a month to a full set. Lastly, I think many people know condi is best for most raids and fractal CMs, but many people don't understand why they are the best. There is a lot more than just damage, it's the nature of the boss fights themselves. Power builds are still doing well. I'm running power banner slave and I do just fine with my damage. You can go on snowcrows and see that there are benchmarks for power builds at around 32-37k. The difference between Condi and power is that power is favored for phases that need the burst damage. That's it.
  3. I agree, the root problem is that there isn't a Viper Set or comparable condi + expertise set in the base game that is readily accessible. Which would be solved if they just added it to the customizable gears in the base game. At the same time, if the OP is trying to raid he would need HoT at the very least to access raid content anyways. I would like to note that power builds do have a place. Open-world and fractals (not the CMs) favor power-builds because they can clear adds so quickly and the boss just dies. You can still hit 30k in a good power builds and meet the damage checks for groups. There are still power builds benchmarking at around 38k. The damage types are shining in different situations. Open-world bosses don't care for what build you have so long as it is decent dps and has survivability.
  4. I think you are misunderstanding what I said in my first sentence. When I said, they can't do anything about it. I meant they can't do anything about the pricing in Trading Post. Balancing damage builds around Trading Post prices is a dumb idea.
  5. I'm sure the gods will return and decide to remake the world as they truly imagine (and destroy life while doing so) and we have to find a way to stop them.
  6. I don't think that ANET can really do much about it. This is just how it is in the community. Condition damage is more often than not better than power in raids and fractal CMs. I expect this will also be the case in Strike CMs as well. So the demand for the best condition damage gear is going to be high. If you want condi gear for cheap you can farm content customizable 80 exotics. I'm sure there are guides available online to help you achieve this.
  7. I think adding an additional housing is just redundant at this point. We already have hubs, Guild Halls, and home instances that we already build up in the game. I don't think we need another flavor of home instance. I think the devs should focus more on expanding upon and improving the home instances that are already available. Maybe add your own personal quarters or housing within the instance or add hub like features like personal storage. Maybe add the ability to customize the instance itself. I'm tired of seeing more housing. I'm not asking for this.
  8. I have to say Guardian. They have the tools that make them relevant in nearly every aspect of the game from PvE solo to Raids, PvP, WvW, fractals, etc. and they are easy enough for anyone to pick up and play. You can pick up a Guardian and have little trouble finding a group to play with in just about any game type.
  9. Overall I think the expansion is below average. Most of the issues in the expac is exacerbated by the over-arcing issues of the game as whole. Rewards in EOD suck. Its not the expac's fault (mostly) but this has been an issue in the game as a whole for a while now. The rewards earned in EOD content is the same as any of the previous expansions. We continue to get T6 mats and junk that we already have more than enough of. We don't get anything great for completing strikes or open world content as of right now. As a matter of fact, if you are not working on the Aurene Legendary you'd just be wasting your time with EOD content. Masteries are basically useless. I don't care about fishing, skimmers are better than skiffs, and turtles aren't all that great unless you don't have the other mounts from PoF. I still haven't gotten my turtle and I honestly don't care too. This means 3/5 of the masteries are basically useless to me. Jade Bot and Arborstone are nice additions. Overall, nothing really game changing there. E-Specs. They are fun, but nothing meta-breaking so far in PvE. I can't speak for PvP. Sadly enough some Meta bosses like in Echovald and Dragons End is punishing for melee specs. Scenery. Amazing as we have always come to expect from Arena Net. My only complaint is that New Kaineng City is difficult to navigate. I wish we had icons for jade teleporters and zip lines on the map to help navigate the map. But overall, great level design as always. PvE. Fun the first-time around, but once you got your initial rewards there is zero-incentive to return. (SPOILERS AHEAD) Story. I didn't like it. Arena Net has never been good with stories and this is no different. I didn't care about Mai Trin returning. The game tried to make me sympathize with her, but it just doesn't work. Her redemption story was far too short and felt forced. Ankka could've been fleshed out more. All we knew is that she and Gorrik had a thing and she has a expedite the end of the world complex. Not much else. Again her story was far too short. Soo Won. We meet her for a short period of time before killing her. Again short. See a pattern here? The story was rushed, we never got to see more to these characters. In addition real-world issues being imbedded into the game is another negative. ANET is progressive in their approach to their game development and that's fine, but I don't like cultural or political values (from both sides of the aisles) being thrusted upon me in the story. It makes the story feel less immersive as a whole. Overall, it's fun and looks nice. But those are the only redeeming qualities. Once I get my legendary I probably wouldn't return to this content.
  10. Hi, this Guild sounds like what I'm looking for. Are you still active? Do you run strikes?
  11. @Naxos.2503Yep, looks pretty much like that on my Charr as well. @Hannelore.8153As promised, you will find the snapshots of my Charr with the Warmth of Koda Enrichment equipped linked below. There are four snapshots which show three angles without armor and one with full armor equipped. You will find that the enrichment will be mostly hidden with only the trailing smoke from the aura being visible. https://imgur.com/a/RnXRamK Linked here is pictures from the GW2 wiki to draw some comparison to the Norn race (another big model) which looks like it is properly implemented. 12. Thank you for the prompt response. Prior to posting and moving forward with the investment I have checked the wiki and found the article you have referenced (which gave me assurance that it should appear just like other models). As a testing measure I unequipped my chest armor and backpack with the enrichment equipped. Unfortunately, most of the aura is still hidden. I understand this is a more subtle aura (it is actually why I liked it). I will follow up with a screenshot when I am able. Maybe it's just me, but I am of the opinion that more exclusive rewards should be more carefully developed towards all races not as a "once size fits all" approach that have been traditionally followed with more typical equipment. I'm sure the community as whole would greatly appreciate aura's visuals properly displaying across all races.
  13. I have a male Charr that I run as my main character. I have recently obtained the Koda's Warmth Enrichment only to find massive disappointment in aura visuals over the Charr body and heavy armor. The aura is being fully covered by the Charr's body with only a small portion being revealed just under the base of the neck. There is no glow that shows this. I would appreciate seeing improvements on this in the near future as I have (as well as other Charr players) have invested a lot of time, effort, and gold to obtain this prominent enrichment. I also hope that in the future arenanet would take non-human races into consideration when developing prominent equipment.
