  1. Its is on of the fairest system. While I may have issue with a couple gem store items, overall it is as consumer friendly it can be for a non-subscription Game, while keeping the lights on. Fall is a strong word, it just get stretched to thin. It is just so many forces pulling at an MMO + the sheer amount of time the player expect from the game and the game in return from the player. If you are 6k hours deep, the game will get dry, even with the best decision and infinite resources. People will move on, living world as tax for non-active player was always a bad idea for the longevity of the game.
  2. Like I said depending on what you mean they do or not. Some weapons have better base multiplier(Weaponstrenght) for their Damage coefficients, like rifle>Pistol. Never heard "this skill has lower multipliers, but has better base damage", but that does not mean they don't exist. Just surprised someone would get that idea. The wiki does give you the formula, when hovering over the "?".
  3. But weapons do have base damage? Depending what you mean by "Base Damage". You have Base Power and Weapons Have damage ranges depending on Weapon type and rarity. Ascended double Pistol unload does more damage then exotic. Easy to test because you can just switch the weapons slots if you have a exotic and a ascended Pistol with the same stats. One Unload does less damage then two rifle double tabs despite having the same damage coefficient. One Unload is 8 times 0.4 and two double tabs are 2 times 1.6, but rifle does more damage because of the higher "base damage".
  4. Oh there is a lot "sub optimal" in your build. A lot of build fundamental the game expect you to know are not met. I hope you have accessories equipped and just forgot to put them in the editor? Vitality is a stat you shouldn't stack more then you need. On Warrior who has so much base HP you probably need almost no extra HP. Power damage is balanced around having 3 Damage modifier: Power, Crit chance and Crit damage. They are multiplicative so they game punishes you hard for investing in defensive stats like you did. If your damage is low mobs have more chance to kill you:). Elite specs are just more powerful then Core. Rifle is sadly just a bad weapon. The game expects you to rely on active defenses like Dodge, Blocks, Stunbreak and Condition cleanse. One step would be replacing some gear with berserkers so mobs have less time to kill you. As much as you are comfortable of course. Berserker gear is cheap, Devona's armor even has the same runes you are currently using, so you can just buy a couple pieces and test it out. If you struggle surviving, it is a good idea to keybind your abilities if you have not already. A mouse with 2 extra buttons does wonders, because with shift modifier that are 4 comfortable buttons to reach quickly. Having Dodge, Blocks, Stunbreak and Condition cleanse on good keybinds does wonder for surviving in Tyria. If you like CC and Warrior, Mace and Hammer are great weapons. Combined with Strength and defensive trainline you are rewarded with quickness and stability for disabling something. Thank to recent buffs Hammer is one of the best dps weapons and mace does pretty okay damage too. Elites are just OP, so getting them helps. If you want real easy mode not matter the Profession or time/gold investment it would be smart to switch to a condi profession/build and get celestial. Like Herald. But that cost a lot in equipment and Getting Hero Points take a lot of time if you struggle in OW. Condi is normally better in OW, because instead of 3 stats, Condi just needs Condition damage and Expertise for damage, so you are less punished for investing in defensive stats.
  5. Not an engineer, but the fact it also cleanses Blindness does make it a little unclear? I would guess it does remove up to 3 conditions then? Or is it up to 2 including blindness?
  6. Not even that? In no world does acrobatic beat Critical Strike or deathly Arts in damage. Also bound doesn't trigger the damage buff. So you need to alternate between Staff 2 and bound for the very short damage buffs. which is way to hectic for my taste.
  7. I see only decent player in Cantha Strikes. My point was: if he see a lot of bad players while doing Cantha Strikes it is because his standards for bad are different from mine. That is not moralizing, just pointing out if you are 6k+ hours invested in something, perspective does shift. In Ibs yes, because they are popular. Cantha Strikes is all Gas. Every dps does decent damage. Everybody around 20k if phases wouldn't drop the number on arc dps.
  8. Maybe to your high standards 80% of the Population are not very good. Yeah some people call themselves casual. But, People are detached addicts. In another discussion someone, who has raids on farm and jumped into WvW for the legendary ring(?) called himself "pretty casual". Cantha Strikes are downright unplayable without changing your Graphic settings. I didn't say casuals are bad. I said If someone is low dps, it is probably a casual.
  9. I joined a bunch of no requirements groups. Everybody does 20k+ dps and more or less know what they are doing. Like it should be, but I would assume if a game mode is popular you should run into bad players or People who are clearly in the learning process.
  10. Funny how many People are confused about OP. Wait a week till the threat dies down, and the same People are molding in the corner, because they don't get new content for their unpopular Game Mode. Cantha Strikes are so devoid of casuals, you can post no requirement groups without Problem. That is convenient for grouping, but probably not a good sign for the health of Strikes as group content.
  11. Keep balancing the game around People like you and throw player like me or Aliam a bone. HoT Hero Points are a good example: A group challenge that can be soloed by good players. Dangerous areas like mini dungeon you need to be extra prepared or should walk in with other people, would be an idea. Another thing to lift casuals up could be doing the same that lol does, giving you a selection of sample builds in Game. A big part is action per minutes(APM), having all abilities on key binds, build fundamentals and knowing the best options. Another part is the GW 2 combat system is very multiplicative. So every "lacking" aspect balloons in a big difference. You have exotic berserker instead of ascended? That is just a 5% difference, but precision increases the worth of Power then ferocity increases that even further. Boons are overpowered if you manage to get a lot of solo might, quickness, protection and so on that is worth a lot. Care to share one of your builds like this?: Low APM core warrior build
  12. For Math reasons. Stats affect Damage in GW 2 in a multiplicative fashion. So most of the time it is smart to "overinvest" in Damage stats as much as possible. Celestial breaks the mold by giving you so much more stats total. In OW and WvW the lose of efficiency that comes with not stacking Damage stats is offset by the sheer quantity of stats you gain from celestial.
  13. If we talk about normal CC you can Stunbreak: CC is fine. If we talk about CC that counters Stunbreak, like pulsing wells and so on: Yeah CC is not fine.
  14. Something like that yeah, but don't want a tag. So no extra Icon in LFG. No use outside of instanced content. Just being able to organize the subgroups, without relaying on PuG people to organize themselves.
  15. Elite specs is an upgrade to your base Profession. After unlocking it you can change your 3rd Traitline with an Elite one. That gives you an new weapon, 5 more utilities and changes how your profession plays. You unlock them by collecting Hero Points from Hero challenges and spending them in the training section of the Hero Panel. They are the Yellow Symbols on the map. Probably boosts your dps by 25%+. Because GW 2 tricks you:). Combo Field + Blast finisher = Area. Combo Field + Whirl finisher = Bolts. Leap finisher and Projectile finisher in a combo field are less uniform. Leaps often time give Auras. So leaping through a Fire Fields gives a Fire Aura. Not the most important thing to get into for now.
  16. People heavily underestimate how self selecting MMO's are. Finger dexterity and visual comprehension of all the clutter is the heavier and faster of MMO combat. Most top Basketball players or Strong man are suspiciously tall. On top of that is the setup you have at home, internet connection and so on. In addition to that some builds are just stronger then others. All things the make just stronger regardless of skill. Little reminder: This is a game. A game where I, a Person who did none of that, couldn't tell you the precast of a single animation and barley manage my 16 key binds is the ca. 280 best Player EU. Also I'm a little confused, didn't you say we should learn from better opponents?
  17. In my silver 3 game was a plat 3. I could walk over some of my opponents, I don't know what the Plat did to them because some of my opponents just got teleported back to spawn. 1 Division is gigantic gap. While my Ego is quit big, I know when the game gives me Freelo thanks to matchmaking. Gold 1 vs plat players is not a match it is a joke. Less so when the gold 1 are gold 3 in disguise like yourself. Pls explain to me what and how did you learn from getting punched in the face by people that are faster then you and 20kg non-fat mass heavier then you.
  18. Skipping from 52 to max is not halve the levels. Never did level that range myself what useful information did I miss? Also the games fails at being concise, it just becomes noise.
  19. Go in the Ring with a prime mike Tyson, tell me how much you think you gonna learn from the fight. My guess? "Don't go in the ring with Iron Mike" There are better players in a smaller range too. You act like Gold 1 fighting Gold 3 is a fight devoid of skill difference. If someone wants to get destroyed by better players they can join the tournaments. They even get 10 Gold for their troubles.
  20. Strikes? You mean the new main group content that started existing, because the easy IBS Strikes pulled many players in? EoD Strikes are populated with people on meta builds in a Meta composition not comparable to a T1 fractal PuG. The EoD strikes that are still less popular then IBS despite being newer and more profitable.
  21. Same that does happen when the tag leaves. Nothing. Depending on implementation of course. If that change would be baseline just give someone else the lead.
  22. Of course it doesn't convince me. You didn't engage with what I wrote. I'm 50% sure you falsely quoted me again instead of another person? I never said I dislike it right now, I said they are overdesigned. You or me being able to handle something proofs nothing, we have unhealthy amounts of game time. That was my point, there should be difficult parts of Maps instead of Baseline difficulty, so casuals don't get murdered in the streets and veterans can get their challenge. HoT mobs are overdesigned in the sense they are mini encounters, which is cool in Isolation, but sucks if you have a whole map of them. Let assume every 10 hours playing you get a little better. How many hours have you now? How many hours does it take to reach HoT?
  23. "Don't implement because it was bugged at launch"? That is different from how tag leads work how?
  24. You need to be careful in here and very specific, otherwise you start the "enmity near time investment located, target expresses disapproval" sub routine of the NPC's. Try a couple more Posts clarifying you are willing to work for the reward, maybe it shuts down that program. Abandoning the Post may be the smarter idea.
