Conversely, if you already had the Legendary Raid Light Armor, and you were about to craft the Legendary WvW armor, you wouldnt anymore with this new Armory announcement, right? Because that would be an obsolete thing to do and you would get nothing from it since the skin is the same. So your situation does not apply.

Different situation that you just listed. I always intended to craft the light raid armor. Whether or not I actually have it crafted now or not doesn’t matter.

You're crafting it after, that's completely different. You are making an informed decision based on everything you have knowledge on and are willing to throw the gold at it for the benefits of a skin. Nobody who has crafted 2 of the same armor sets were informed of such, else they would not have done so.

Edit: Like I said, I would be satisfied with either compensation like 2 of the SAME Legendary armor, or even inclusion of a new unique skin for the WvW/PvP armors.

Not really. I always intended to craft the light raid armor.

Hardened leather prices are anything but reasonable, and unsurprisingly, they are the rarest material to find which you need a lot of to craft ascended armor. GW2 crafting: turn farming into your every day job or pay up, chump!

They’re not needed for ascended armor other than perhaps insignias. You’re confusing them with thick leather.

I'm not sure if that would happen.

But, if it did, wouldn't that actually be a good thing for all those new players who we are led to believe would somehow find themselves in an exploitative relationship with nasty ascended item vendors?

Would they not then also have the option to *avoid* being exploited by meanies by instead purchasing component parts at the 'crashed' prices you imagine?

It would when you account for all the excess ascended players have and how often many get drops which they would no longer need.

Ascended item vendors are far from exploitative. I’m not sure where you got that idea unless you’re just joking.

If they don’t like the prices of the materials then they can farm them themselves. The prices have been fairly reasonable. You also forget to account for all those players who sell the materials that will be hurt with the crashed prices.

You did see that this video is editied?

You did see that I responded a few posts later?  Whether edited or not, it’s a a full play through of how long it would have taken her had she not. made mistakes. I also posted other videos of those who were able to complete the JP in under 15 min who were not mesmers, to disprove the poster’s claim that it was impossible.

Dulfy was also playing mesmer in the vid you linked...

Clearly reading comprehension isn't a strong suit in this topic--I specified 'no mesmer' run not a 'no port' run, and both videos show some variation of mesmer.

Clearly a quick search before making a claim isn’t a strong suit in this topic.

There's a ton of cuts in that that take out failed attempts and waiting for cooldowns to come back up. To get a sub 15 minute run, you would need to do everything perfectly and know where to go beforehand, something a player doing it for the first time wouldn't know.

Whether there were cuts or not for fails, it was completed in under 15 minutes disproving the person that I had quoted who said that it couldn’t be done.

I know that there are harder JP in the game and that this game can be easy for many, but also many of us who play this game cannot afford to spend hours every day playing because we have a life outside, work, studies, etc. and we only play several hours a week, I am just saying that I find it unfair that the casual gamer who cannot afford to play 3 hours or more on a daily basis and doesn't have a great skill level has to give up certain items like the legendary amulet because it is not feasible for him to complete a JP of a difficulty that seems ridiculous to me.

I bet those who laugh and say "I'm whining" are precisely the ones who can spend 5 or more hours every day playing, well, congratulations to those people.

You’re playing an MMO which typically takes a lot of time and especially if you’re going for a legendary.

You also have maybe 4-5 months to do the JP before the amulet is actually obtainable. I don’t see the point of the complaint when it’s only been two days.

The whole time argument doesn’t matter as there are those who fall under the same conditions that you listed, and may even be worst off than you, who have managed to complete the JP just fine.

It's not specifically in the rules. Leeching like this (as in standing off to the side doing nothing) would get the same treatment as AFKing. The most they'd likely do however is kick them from the map, which is what they've done to griefers in the past.

You can see the support lead mention it on reddit - "You need to be active and involved when you gain benefits in the game. So "afking while meta", if it gives you a benefit, is not okay. The game was made to be played, actively, by a person directing the actions directly."

It’s not quite the same though. Credit for the event is awarded by participating in that final event which they do participate in.  Taking issue with them for doing that would set the precedent to do the same to all players who choose to not participate in an entire meta throughout the game. If someone doesn’t do the pre-events for the world bosses such as FE, and just sits there, then action should be taken against them as well.

There’s also the matter that they’re not engaging with content while AFK which was one of the three criteria that needed to be satisfied in regards to the AFK farmers. Simply being AFK is not against any of the rules.  During the period that they’re AFK, they’re not gaining any benefit because participation credit isn’t obtainable until the final event which they do participate in.
