  1. I need you to post again to get 1000 total and then stop posting forever. If a non-meta build counters meta builds well enough, it becomes a meta build 🙂
  2. Lol this thread really went off the rails, eh? Don't see what the big deal is. Anyone who thinks Ranger downstate is equivalent to others is objectively a moron. It's not even a complicated question. Why even argue?
  3. Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much I play a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn't believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop playing? A class spec small enough that it couldn't be listed on Metabattle goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without me. No, you clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. Matchmaking is not the danger, @Deadmoose.6594. I am the danger. A guy opens his queue and drops to gold, and you think that of me? Yes. I am the one who Core Engis!
  4. Not really, they have the whole core space to develop a specific counter build. Bladesworn is essentially 1 meta build. Core engi, especially the variety I play without grenades, is (imo) a very losing matchup into Bladesworn. Engi Elites on the whole not as much. I find the Scrapper Nade builds one dimensional and boring, but they're often the most effective rn. You seem like you're on a weird antagonistic kick lately. Like I said, I was only offering a non-OP, heavily-countered-by-Bladesworn counter example to your thread topic. And making it more fun by offering gold.
  5. Isn't the point of this thread to show normal classes that have trouble with Bladesworn? I specified core because it has little frills or "OP" things and has heavy reliance on projectiles. You could still use grenade kit, but no Chronomancer quickness etc. I'd also want to watch and record for posterity and fairness. I want to interpret this in both the meanest (for laughs) and nicest (for my self esteem) ways possible.
  6. I'll give you 200g if you can beat a plat bladesworn as core engi in a best of 5.
  7. Calm down, Naruto. Please don't add me to your list, I really want to be a part of your squad.
  8. Carrying has nothing to do with winning imo. It has to do with relative contribution to the team's progress. If I solo kill 20 players in a match and never die, while my teammates are constantly on farm, I've contributed net 100 pts toward the win while my teammates are probably net negative. It's totally fine if there's an expectation for you to perform well, or even "carry" if that's possible on most builds. My tongue-in-cheek claim here is that the majority of average players can't or won't perform the basics to allow a win in the first place. I've had close games where I go 28-0. Games where PvE guilds all cap home 4v0 at the start. Games where every even fight between my teammates and the enemy is lost etc. These things shouldn't happen if teammates know game basics and are matched equally to the other team. But they do, often enough for me to conclude that the majority of average GW2 PvPers don't know the basics, don't care to learn the basics or improve, and are often belligerent about this. I have very little patience for these people now. Anet could improve PvP learning, community, and matchmaking. Resources ARE out there for this. Myself and others have all made multiple threads about how this could be done. But their efforts are directed elsewhere, much like how I direct mine elsewhere when matchmaking is poor. Yep well said. I am exploring other games, but I do like the social component of MMOs. I would find fighting games more appealing if the upfront learning curve was more about strategy than memorizing + executing button combos.
  9. Yeah. To be clear, in these threads I've made about Dslash and the 30s+ chain of Aegis, I do still want Bladesworn to be viable after lol. I'm just pointing out excessive areas to address because Anet missed the mark last patch (imo). Obviously if they removed Aegis, gutted stability, nerfed Dslash damage etc. all at once the spec would die. That's not good. Don't do that Anet. It's not my job or place to decide how that should be done, or find where the sweet spot is between risk and reward. That's probably best done by reasonable Warrior mains here.
  10. Yeah my internet hasn't been the best lately it seems, or something has changed with Anet's servers. Music is from the "Relaxing Classical" playlist on Spotify. No worries, just crazy random kitten as usual. I seem to be a magnet for it vs Warriors though. Maybe because I'm actually playing around what's supposed to happen. I just got another ridiculous Bull's Charge clip.
  11. I'm not paying $25 or whatever to help balance GW2 for Anet.
  12. They are quite literally top tier meta right now.
  13. And the stability and teleports. Without buying SOTO or playing Nade Scrappper, I realistically can't. Yep. Projectile hate is the hardest counter in the game.
  14. Ah yeah, I was focused on Stalwart Strength because that's what triggers on Dslash. Instead, you meant Dtrigger, which I would have looked up on Gw2 wiki had you specified correctly. I have no problems admitting that was wrong and I do look things up. Somehow I doubt you'll be as courteous in your own mistake. Again, Dtrigger not Dslash. And regardless of Stalwart being run (it's the trait choice on metabattle :P), the pretty recent change on Dragonscale Defense, you still get stability from Brave Stride no? 2 charges, instant cast, on demand when you want it. Then there's still Balanced Stance. So I stand by my original claim. Nothing in my reply to you was meant to upset you Endo. People can disagree without it being a fight. You are a very sensitive person and that's ok.
  15. I've seen a few, but yeah there's always a come down when the bandwagoners realize the ride is no longer free. Power zerker deserved better imo.
  16. That would be cool! But if I understand what you're saying correctly, I don't think that's what happened. Flicker Step (the teleport) only has a 300 range, and Dslash Boost takes you ~2x that away from a melee range target (me). Still going with wonky lag that heavily favors the warrior in this case (me dodging all the hits and yet there are always more).
  17. Lol, I was thinking this too. But, they are, and they do. They both eventually get low too, surprised by the Dslash 7k+ hits I think. You'd be surprised how many people don't see any problem with the class and further, think more of themselves for winning on it. It's strange. If Aegis could be cleared from range, I'm totally with you. If so, the melee only Dslash should clearly do good damage. Boost should do little damage. Reach in between.
  18. I'm wondering this same thing, looking through the traits etc. Engi suffered greatly from nerfing the core class and obviously that's to be avoided. I only suggest reducing the damage because numbers should be easy to change. Looking through the meta builds of Bladesworn it looks like they're taking 2 stunbreaks and mostly defensive utilities/traits/relics. Risk should accompany good damage; I'd like to see what Bladesworn could do if people actually played it for damage. You're saying Dslash doesn't interact with Stalwart Strength anymore? Dragonscale Defense still gives Stab on Dtrigger. Brave Stride gives stab on teleport too, no? And Balanced Stance can be cast during Dtrigger to protect it. That's what, 3-4 sources of stability that can protect Dslash?
  19. https://clips.twitch.tv/SnappyExpensivePterodactylWholeWheat-GgH3NwpYKRJFm72U Count the times these experienced Warrior players get hit by Dragon Slash. It's not just the sustain. It's not just the projectile reflect uptime. Bladesworn churns out 4-9k unblockable, unblindable, AoE stuns every 8 seconds. These AoE burst stuns are protected by aegis+reflect, stability, and teleports. Even if you dodge through it, the hitbox is so big you can still get hit on the backswing. And even Warrior mains can't dodge it the majority of the times. Isn't that the only defensive angle left? Oh, and it's like a built in Rocket Boots for mobility / escape. Other than Anet ineptitude, someone please tell me why this, and multiple other aspects of this class aren't already nerfed six ways from Sunday? How do we go from "vulnerable windup" and "big hits should be easy to dodge" to invulnerable windup and Warrior mains, solely focused on dodging, failing the majority of times? Hot take: For how low cd it is, how protected it is, for how much utility it has, for the hitbox, for the animation speed, Dragon Slashes should do <2k damage maximum crits when activated in <2 seconds. Maximum 5k crit if charged long enough for the Warrior to actually be vulnerable. Say ~1k damage/sec charged to keep it simple.
  20. What rotation isn't: -X players capping the same node together without any opposition - X players camping uncontested nodes with all enemies accounted for elsewhere on the map - X players continually fighting an immortal bunker on a point they don't own, in a fight they can't/won't win - X players staying in fights too long, either to die together, or not capitalize on won fights - completely ignoring map objectives 99% of the time you get called out for rotations it's for these reasons.
  21. Yeah the silvers and golds never acknowledge carries in my experience, they're too unaware. They can sure feel the lack of it though, and then they start getting antsy/rude. Same goes for class balance when the ego inflates and balance deflates.
  22. Guys I'm playing like my teammates and haven't won a game since...it's not even close, what am I doing wrong
