  1. Another Minstrel vindicator thread. But this one I believe is peak kitten, that I've seen in almost 10 years playing this game. It's clear that the devs just don't really understand their game all that well. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1609496354?t=00h18m32s
  2. Just when you thought things were getting better, Anet disappoints. Infinite dodgerolling vindicator with perma barrier, heals and condi removal is going to be even more kitten than minstrel scrapper ever was. Hail the boonballs. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1609407088?t=00h06m07s
  3. Granted they weren't exactly thriving, but certainly weren't dead. Indo arrived there to 'rescue' the servers, whilst vacuuming up whatever decent pugs remained. Once he left he took all the decent pugs with him and any sort of community infrastructure that was left was destroyed. Not much different than a vulture tbh.
  4. It's the Super cloud. Probably worse than the MAG+BP link.
  5. More or less. Every server Indo joins and leaves, is worse off. Look at the thriving, dead communities of DR and SBI.
  6. I like how Indo was talking big about how he would transfer to the next underdog server. Here is, transferring to ET/IoJ, which is by far the most bloated link pair here. I mean, I knew he was going to do everything in his power to mess up the equilibrium for everyone else, but it's pretty funny at the same time.
  7. I know everybody is excited about relinks, but I'm just going to reset the expectations by saying that they will probably be very garbage to start out with. The way Anet matches linked servers with host servers literally doesn't make any sense. Whenever the links are announced, a significant amount of guilds transfer to a different server which completely changes the population/coverage statistics of the given pair. Thus the entire equilibrium is distorted and we have goliath servers, a few dead servers, and massive mismatches. Link servers don't work in this game because the players can't help but to abuse the system for their benefit, at the expense of the wider health of the game mode. A shining example of this abuse is a certain Person. We all know the person I'm talking about, so there is no need for me to even men say his name. I find it pretty ironic because he was talking big about joining the next underdog and wanting to help the little guy out; yet he choses to transfer to the most bloated pair (ET/IoJ) to make the match ups even worse for the rest of the game community. When all is said and done, nobody can really take this match-making system seriously; even on a basic conceptual level it doesn't make any sense. Maguuma Commander and Chief of Police

  10. What am I doing with 3 seconds of stealth on a 90 second cd?
  11. I'm going to come out and say that we will almost certainly not get alliances before 2024. So basically 4+ years of developer resources will be put into a 'solution' that probably wont meaningfully improve or address any of the issues of WvW.
  12. BG has twice the number of guilds as Mag, and they are still losing the kdr.
  13. Heh. Everyone here is missing the point. Alliances are not coming anytime soon. You will be lucky if we get them by first half of 2023. So this is just another way of saying don't expect much updates to WvW.
  14. One of the few people that actually get it. I would like to add on very important point to this. Damage distribution. In a 5 man target cap regime, the damage each group does to each other is spread evenly (assume well stacked) amongst the players in each group. Said another way, the burst damage each player receives is significantly reduced when stacked amongst their allies. For larger groups fighting against the smaller groups, the small gets their burst damage trivialized because its spread amongst so many players, and with the current double support meta anything non-lethal damage is almost immediately healed in seconds. On the other hand, the larger group usually has enough excess damage (due to having more players doing dmg) that they can still effectively spike the smaller group. We actually need higher target caps to limit some of this mindless blobbiness.
  15. Um yeah. I'm not denying that, I literally posted a video of it. It was a race to the bottom. CTH and SPACE started PPTing SOS right before the last skirmish. Once both servers PPT was reduced to single digits, only other choice was to feed. Minutes later the other faction of maguuma that wanted SOS gone started to feed. In the end, the SOS waypoint got perma contested by a thief which made it impossible to outfeed the other. Everyone is already colluding well before this happened anway.
  16. Probably better off with Nvidia. I don't think this old game engine is optimized for AMD cards.
  17. Yeah prob not getting those alliances.
  18. Sorry for my terrible stream quality. But sometimes people dont believe until you see it. We have 6 servers colluding to avoid the clustermess that is T1. People mass feeding. Other people on the other side trying to stop the mass feed by contesting the waypoint. People outgriefing each other. Drama and team chat. Never seen anything like this in 9 years. I really tried to help you out CD by getting you out of this garbage tier. But you're ppters on YB insisted otherwise. Hats off to you SOS. Hello, this is the Chief of WvW Police, or Maguuma commander if you prefer. The stated objective of Maguuma is to keep SOS in T1 at all costs. I think we would all agree that stacking a server at the expense of other servers is bad for the overall health of WvW. But let us be very frank here; SOS instigated this when the OP alliance and all their followers from DR bandwagon-ed to SOS which led to them dominating T1 during the previous relink cycle. Now some people will claim that he didn't know or didn't mean for this to happen. I wont be that generous. We've been playing this game for almost 10 years now, we all knew darn well what would happen if he transferred 100+ players to a T2 server that was already strong on OCX/SEA. It's time to reap what you sow instead of pretending to be a T2 server again. That road has long since sailed. We're both in this together, and that doesn't necessarily need to be a bad thing. Mag needs Indo just like the Joker needs Batman. In spite of the SOS bandwagon, the WvW community has persevered, and the shoe has been put on the other foot. I think that most of us would agree that Maguuma should, and must be in T1 for the health of the game mode. I'm not going to deny that, not only because of the score, but as a means of punishing other servers that think it is a good idea to mega-stack your server on NA. Just look at the absolute clusterkitten that is the EU server. They don't have any sort of WvW police to keep everyone on the same page. Everyone just stacks one link after another, bandwagons their way to T1 domination, gets their link cut and plummets to T5, then everyone just bandwagons to another server, rinse and repeat. In EU there is no punishment or consequence to bandwagonning your server to T1, but in NA everyone has a good reason to not stack their server beyond what is necessary for a reasonably active server. Disclaimer: This is the real Julian, commander from the Maguuma because there has been some confusion and people saying I authored posts in other places, when I did not.
  19. We got the alliance beta in early January didn't we. The roadmap here doesn't say we will get alliances finished in the spring of 2022. That being said, I think it's likely we don't see alliances until 2023 Q2 at the earliest, with a more than reasonable chance that we never see it all.
  20. Were you the author of this thread by chance? There has been some confusion lately. Indo trying to defame me by saying I started some inflammatory thread on the reddit. Just a disclaimer. I AM THE REAL Julian, not whoever posted this reddit/forum. That aside yes you are right, the state of T1 is a perfect example of why the link system has failed. The rotting carcass is finally exposed for everyone to smell.
  21. I think it's time that we reset expectations again. Alliances is not going to be completed this year. At the absolute earliest, expect it be done by Q1 of 2023. Realistically, looking at the pace of this project (reportedly started back up in 2021) I'd say maybe Q2 of 2023 for a complete project. However, what I don't think people should be ruling out is that we may never actually get alliances at all. Yes, that's correct it is possible that work on Alliances will be canceled or put on indefinite hold, just like in 2019 when NCSOFT laid off a bunch of employees during a restructure of their company. Without turning this into an economic forecasting discussion, lets consider that the chances of a global recession in 2023 (if not earlier by end of 2022) is quite high. That means slowing growth and revenues for NCSOFT, which will almost certainly lead to another company restructure. The last time NCSOFT restructured was in 2019, but was implied much earlier in the 2018 Q4 conference call (fast forward to 16:30 through about 18:00), after a reporting a less than stellar earnings report. What entailed in this restructure was a rather widespread staff reduction in their overseas subsidiaries, namely ANET and Iron Tiger Studios. Given the direction the world economy is going, it's certainly possible that NCSOFT does another mass layoffs again, which will probably means somewhere in ANET, which usually means something like this would get put on hold.
  22. Because the silly hardcore players decided that Anet should put all of their WvW allocated resources into alliances. We wont get any major project in WvW until that (if ever) is complete. I've been telling everyone in the beginning that this whole alliance thing would amount to nothing. At best, alliances will be finished mid 2023. Until then don't expect anything huge as far as patches go.
  23. They moved reset night from friday to another day a long time ago. It was some of the most united backlash I've seen in a while.
