  1. He's a boonball, gvg and willbender enjoyer. I'd rather he not be allowed anywhere near WvW balance.
  2. It's worse than that, if it gives more condi damage than dagger and scepter along with giving barrier and mobility skills then the amount of complaints about celestial ele in WvW will make the forums unbearable for a while.
  3. Can you redo the trailer and fix the pistol draw?! I can't unsee how bad that looks.
  4. I'm hoping for ranged mainhand sword, Dark Souls Moonlight Greatsword style and offhand mobility in a similar style of Willbenders offhand sword.

  8. Each expansion has brought unique pets that did something that wasn't done before. No amount of fiddling with older pets is going to do that. That's coming on the 28th. I'm hoping we get one or two more throughout the year with the story updates.

  10. Can you guys just stick with saying "I would love 'x' weapon next time, I think it would be great" and not flame each others preferences. Arguing the semantics of the term 'ranger' in a high fantasy made up video game for multiple pages and derailing the topic isn't a great look for anyone.
  11. If the other weapons look half as good then I can't wait for the forum to be bombarded with demands for older weapons to be revamped. Unique buffs and mechanics for each weapon would up the cool factor of combat a lot. I am worried about the balance side of things though, Anet tend to struggle with that.
  12. At this point we need a whole balance patch dedicated to fixing untamed. The idea of it is great but in practice is so crap. Almost all of the utilities are unused in most builds, the 'unleashed power' cooldown in WvW/PvP is clunky since you can't double ambush like in PvE and 'enveloping haze' being a giant poison field that doesn't inflict poison is just weird.
  13. I had the same thought when watching it. It's like what OG sword could have been if it was updated instead of reworked. I'm honestly pleasantly surprised, if the numbers are right then it could be really fun to use. Off hand being defensive is also great.
  14. So we'd swap it back to the original sword right? With 2 being an evade that swaps to a leap and 3 being an evade. The design flaw you pointed out was only introduced a few years ago, OG sword skills could have been buffed instead of butchered.
  15. The definition of CC in gaming is forcefully limiting an enemy from performing actions, movement is included in those actions. If you force an enemy to stop moving, like with immobilise, you're CCing them. This game generally refers to them as "soft CC" but they're still CCs. His argument that because they're conditions they don't count is a weird hill to die on since the wiki still calls them control effects.
  16. You gotta scroll down. Immobilize is there under non-disabling control effects. Immob being a condition doesn't matter for arguments sake either since you also listed fear and taunt as definite control effects and they're both conditions.
  17. I wonder if they still have the old coding for the original sword autoattack somewhere, the tracking that had would be perfect for pets. But yeah, until that's changed we won't see much use of other pets in competitive modes.
  18. Post it in the WvW and Guardian forums, they get real mad when someone says Willbender is broken.
  19. Because of smoke assault. If other pets had the ability to stick to a target better they'd be used more. Give pets a decent movement speed buff and a small range increase to their attacks and you'll find more pets being used.
  20. They could have easily buffed the old skills to get them up to the current powercreep standard without destroying what made the weapon fun. The only reason it was changed was to keep players stacked in raids/strikes.
  21. I think EotM should be updated with gliding and mounts and separated from the WvW balance side of the game and made into a testing area for changes. It's the perfect place for it and if the rewards are updated they'd have plenty of people going there to be guinea pigs. A separate PTR server might not get the player count needed for accurate testing as they wouldn't be able to easily reward players for playing there.
  22. I know. He also plays in a gvg guild, shouldn't draw any conclusions as to why boon strips keep getting nerfed as well. We'll just leave that as another statement.
