  1. Cheating? They're just arranging trades outside of the game. Don't be silly, lol.
  2. Tried rebooting router & PC, tried -assetsrv, deleting appdata folder, chanting a few incantations.. Problem persists, starting to have a feeling that it's not on my end.
  3. The current richest TP barons could easily buy out all the most expensive items in the ingame trading post and 3rd party websites as well, then try to sell them for double the price they bought em for or even more. But as far as I know, they're pretty cool folks and don't wish to do such nasty deeds. Here's a video made by those very barons that might interest the people in this discussion:
  4. But the point is that you are very well able to trade in higher amounts of gold than 10k, it's only the trading post that disallows it. That's what the opening poster would like to see changed, but people come up with wild theories about this cap causing inflation of common goods. We are also still waiting for some example of such a thing happening elsewhere, as there is a poster who says that this happens in the majority of MMO games so it should be quite simple to validate these claims. Dunno why you even bring up completely off topic stuff like WvW rank, could as well talk about Achievement Points and it's cap and it sounds just as silly in a discussion about a tradable currency in the game.
  5. It's just how it is, people have money and are willing to spend a lot of it on prestige items, that brings the prices up as they got the dosh to burn. The ones who benefit from this are obviously folks who don't have money but get that rare drop and can then buy a few legendaries and all the mount skins they want. I personally know a couple guys who are quite rich and they don't flip anything at all, they simply don't spend it on anything and it keeps piling up as they play the game. I would also be quite rich if I didn't spend all my gold on buying funny things for beginners and griffons for pals.
  6. How much of an increase would it have to be though? As I would guess that +0.1% wouldn't really bring the prices down that much, considering that there's a lot of people willing to buy these for 10k+ 10%? Then everyone would have one in a few hours of farming and buying them would seem kinda pointless.
  7. I would also like to see the examples, as I play a lot of MMOs and have never heard of such a thing happening, ever. Fear mongering and tall tales I'd say. edit: The example item here was a minor sigil of fire, right? I'm just gonna say that the sigil bags can be bought for some map currencies, guild currency and karma, so I don't think it would ever raise in price, and trying to sell one for a hundred gold would simply make it stay in the TP till the end of days.
  8. I'm not experiencing any discomfort during this encounter, so I don't personally see any problems with the design.Works fine for me and looks good, imo. Generally, if you get headaches and eye problems from playing video games, you should go see a doctor asap.It might be something that will affect your life a lot more than just some discomfort during gaming. One pal found out about his brain tumor after he started feeling ill while playing counter strike. Usually FOV plays a part in gaming related headaches too, so you can try moving your monitor further away from where you're sitting and see if it helps. Also make sure your gaming area is well lit.
  9. Basically anything a new player might need in the game drops in such quantities, that there will always be a cheap source even if the TP maximum prices were pushed up to a billion. There are already plenty of individuals playing the game who could just buy all t6 materials off the trading post and reprice em as they like to 10k, but they will have to stay online 247 to keep buying things as they are listed, and they can't stop the cheaper stuff that people are instantly selling to people who order em for low prices. If you don't sell or buy items over 10k, this change would never affect you at all in any way tbh. People generally are afraid of things they don't seem to understand, and I see a lot of that sort of fear in this thread.
  10. Sounds like a terrible idea, considering how many support abilities also deal damage to enemies. Even doing a simple engi smoke bomb stealth combo would knock back the whole party who are supposed to be stealthed :D
  11. My workaround is adding everyone to friends xP follower list stays empty and clean, but it takes about 10 minutes to scroll down the friend list...
  12. I believe so, Kharmin. Things like shovels under a hotkey would make all other forms of CC for breaking boss bars obsolete.
  13. I hated it in wow, I was on action house even on the bus, it sounds good till you notice that the game eats your time even when not at the pc, which really sucks.
  14. I will join but only if we play instruments in combat :P
  15. I think that not having Purity Of Purpose as a support scrapper is just a bit weird. It's pretty much the only special support thing that a scrapper can do when compared to other classes, and seems a lot better than having slightly lower elixir cds. Rune choice is also a bit strange, as overhealing is always useless, and controlled healing > proc healing. I also don't think that this class has a place in meta crews, there are simply better alternatives if you wanna maximize effectiveness and speed, but it definitely works very well for less skilled and non meta groups. Condition stacks are anyways the thing that can kill people in higher 5 player PVE, so it seems a bit strange to focus so much on hp/s pumping when the actually dangerous stuff requires cleansing :P
  16. I suggest making a build that heals, tanks and supports other players, then you can just do your own thing and not really care that much about dodging because of high healing and mitigation potential. Then the game is mostly about being close enough to teammates to share boons and heals, which is a lot easier to manage than playing a high risk damage dealer. As a support tank, you can even decide where the whole crew is gonna fight at and don't have to chase anything at all. Support gameplay is also more about reacting to things happening instead of doing skill rotations endlessly, which imo is funnier and lets you improvise a lot more. After a few practice runs, you will actually know when damage spikes happen and can prepare for those in advance :)
  17. Also, rewards have been the same for atleast 5 years. I wouldn't call any such changes recent, as they were done way before Hot launched.
  18. Electro room is quite easy as well if the person you want aggro on places some aoe field where the hologram spawns and nobody else attacks it, never have any aggro problems if I launch a mortar poison field at the corner while standing on the platform next to the door controls, then I just step down when its close enough. I agree that ap can be horrible if done with people who arent familiar with this games mechanics, but the same goes for almost any other place. You can spend hours even in AC if noobing around.
  19. I seem to hold the aggros just fine with a lot of tougness in my gear and making sure to get the first hit on everything, what exactly do you guys feel is wrong with how aggro behaves? Are you running out to evasion range perhaps and the mobs move back to their spawn positions? The reward is also pretty good imo, potential 12g~ in around 15 minutes or so.
  20. I usually just grab all the elementals and tank them in the bend of the right path, while another player takes both oozes through left and through the flame at the end. Imo, this dungeon is the best one and I would like to see more content like it, without cutscenes though.
  21. Probably the skill lag, sometimes its barely noticeable and sometimes you contemplate uninstalling the whole game. I know quite a bunch who have already stopped playing at all because of this problem.
  22. Look, the point where they stop working requires you to either use macros or be a pretty damn quick irl pianist. For most people playing them, they should never run into that bug if they dont attempt to change octave and press 3 keys at the same time. You can also work around this bug by doing arpeggios instead of smashing everything at the same time.
  23. I found the comment about griefing in massive pvp battleground quite funny, reminds me a bit of elite dangerous community xD
  24. Yep, repeat notes stopped working ages ago.You can work around it by strafe tapping to stop the notes, takes a while getting used to.
