Thank you for the new AoE ring effects
Tiilimon.6094 replied to Kidel.2057's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
For people who have used combos all the time for years, these changes made it a lot harder to see where to move to blast that right effect because of the added visual clutter. The old style was better imo, a lot better. -
As a combo maniac for years, I also have to say that this is a downgrade. It looks very confusing compared to the old visuals. This visual change was totally unnecessary as well, especially as our own last field is now prioritized.

What was causing that white-out in Mistlock?

Sounds like the dude tormenting others is taking PVP way too seriously xD -
Pandaria was april fools joke turned into reality. The Pandaren April Fools was a 2002 April Fool joke that Blizzard put up on their site, posting the pandaren as the so-called "5th race" for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. While much of this material was later adapted into lore in later sources (The Frozen Throne, Warcraft RPG, etc.), some of it differs from the later established lore. While the introduction of the pandaren as a race for Warcraft III was purely humorous, almost a decade later the race was added to World of Warcraft's fourth expansion, Mists of Pandaria, as a playable race. Perhaps understandably, many players also believed this to be an elaborate prank, although for many this was more desperate hope than a simple mistake. Too bad they went with pandas instead of the two headed ogre that's controlled by 2 players. On April 1st, 2004, Blizzard announced an April Fool's Joke that two-headed ogres would be a playable race in WoW.[1] They claimed that the two-headed ogre would comprise of two players, one controlling each head. The ogre's name would be a combination of the two player names, the example being JonnyBob. The players would have a separate "body" channel where they could discuss things amongst themselves, but whenever each player spoke it would appear as if coming from the two-headed ogre character as a single entity. One player would control the left half of the ogre and another would control the right, meaning the players would have to cooperate to succeed in the game. Whenever one player was logged off, its head would appear asleep.

We NEED race change! [Merged]
Tiilimon.6094 replied to Ratnoon.4251's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Experience working with databases doesn't mean that you know at all how the program using that data functions, as that's usually where this so called "chaos magic" happens. For example, what would be the result when a character is wearing cultural armor and is changed to another race in the database? I'd guess a conflict like that would most likely cause a client crash when trying to log into the game. There's plenty more conflicts such as this one for sure, and most likely those are the reason why the developers don't bother working on it. Keep in mind that this game is coded in such a way, that it was possible to teleport before POF came out just by logging to character screen and back if your character stood near enough to a structure... so saying that changing things in the database doesn't cause glitches at least makes you seem amazingly confident in your claims. -

Changing just the one value for the actual race might be very easy for sure, but changing all the other values might just glitch the character so badly that it leads to all sorts of problems that we have no idea about :) Keep in mind that every time you make a decision during the story line, some values in the database change as well. How these relate to each other and what messing up with them might cause can only be speculated, as we don't have the slightest idea how this game is actually programmed. I know for certain tho, that messing with character database values while running a wow private server breaks em, the whole client just freezes completely. -
Marginalization of Left-handed People

How do you know how simple it actually is? I'm quite sure that making characters slide/levitate around instead of running and making slopes around the maps wouldn't be that hard when compared to mirroring every ability animation for all races, sexes and classes. My character also has a tail. I don't have one irl, so should the devs make us able to remove it? -

Characters also run around on legs, what about all the people bound to wheelchairs? Ramps for all stairs and mounts too pls. -
GW2 always makes me wonder if the developers understand what they actually got here. Possibly best 5 player PVE mechanics ever, and they only keep developing unchallenging open world zergfests where you can't see characters through ability effects, or raids that are very casual compared to other MMOs and still completed only by a fraction of the playerbase, it's just mind boggling. Anet even came up with group splitting mechanics years ago that I haven't seen in any other MMOs, like levers in different locations that must be pulled simultaneously and buttons that someone must press to let the rest of the party past an obstacle, sadly these ideas have been completely abandoned by now and haven't seen any use for the past 2 expansions. It's crazy that fractals came out in 2012, that's 9~ years for total of 21 instances in the (afaik?) most played PVE mode in the whole game.

New to GW2, Not to MMOs (First Observations)

Charr has ridiculous hitbox btw, it's the empty space between the models legs. I suggest getting any sort of a skin changing tonic that you can jump with if playing this race. -

For group content, it might look like ranged is favored in this game, when it's actually the other way around. There's no trinity, but there's almost always a player in a group who heals and cleanses. Ranged misses out on those heals, cleanses and boons, as almost every player buffs every ally around them constantly with something very useful. Often we just stand in lava, but it doesn't matter as the damage is getting outhealed constantly and someone is turning that burn into aegis :3 -
Is there a way to reset "Death count"?
Tiilimon.6094 replied to Antycypator.9874's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Just pretend the 1 is a 0. It's your own challenge anyways, so does it really matter? Nobody else can see your death count 😄 Afaik, folks who do these iron man/zero death challenges often count glitch related deaths as legit, so they just reroll if such a thing happens. brutal af, but isn't it supposed to be that way 😄 -

Sadly something went wrong while editing and it didn't go through, gonna leave feedback instead :) The archived update notes also don't exist anymore in the forums so can't refer to them, but they can still be found on some other sites: https://www.oceanicgamer.com/2012/10/guild-wars-2-patch-notes-october-7th-2012-update/ "Raised the maximum karma limit." Think there might still be a cap but it's probably 18446744073709551615 as we are now using a 64-bit client :) -

The cap used to be 1 million but that was about 8 years ago or so, Karma also used to be character bound until august 6, 2013. -

Karma consumables are a bit strange too, there's 12 different kinds and the only reason for their existence is most likely that karma used to be character bound years ago and also had a cap. Afaik theres no cap anymore or it's insanely high, and it's also account wide, so having them as a consumable is just a useless extra step. Devs changing these to automatically get consumed and added to the karma wallet would be quite nice and there would be 12 less account bound items to clutter inventories :) Imo there are plenty of other things that could directly go to the wallet as well, or lose their account bound status. -

I'm simply stating my opinion about this change that could be made to the game :) I'm not arguing with you at all, and I'm quite sure that I clarified it quite well in my last post. I've actually stopped reading what you type Sobx.1758, because I simply don't care at all 😄 -

As far as I know, we already agreed that I'm wrong and you're right about whatever you wish, so you can savor the feeling of victory and smile, as you have already bested me in this battle of wits. --- ! The following paragraph is not an argument and is not aimed at Sobx, his associates, family or pets or anyone else. It is simply my opinion. I think such clarification is required just in case of a misunderstanding. ! In my opinion being able to vendor unwanted account bound ascended items even for nothing of value at all would improve my enjoyment of the game. I would find it quite handy to be able to see all the unwanted items in a convenient list, especially as I'm using invisible bags for the things I like to keep and could simply click on an item on the top of the vendor window and hover my cursor over the sell button, then frantically click it till the whole list is empty. This would be very simple and convenient compared to the current way of cleaning my inventory, it would also be quicker. I'm also using large UI size to be able to see the health bars and condition lists of my allies better, and have quite small resolution because I'm playing on a potato pc, so I unfortunately can not open my inventory and see all the items I'm carrying at once in my bags without scrolling a lot, so I often forget to clean things up until I have to free up some slots. Seeing them every time in the vendor window would make it a lot harder to forget :) -

Selling them for no money at all would work as well, would be handy to get rid of em during normal vendor dumps. Wonder what that guy will draw out of this 😄 -

But do you have any opinion about the qol suggestion? We both can agree that I am wrong if it makes you feel like a winner, but would such a change hurt your enjoyment in some way? As I know for sure it would improve mine and also for a few others in this thread.
