  1. The shortbow confuses me. Reactions are another combo system, but the abilities that provide reactions are also combo fields and finishers. That's lot to think about. 9 different blast finisher outcomes for the different combo field types, dark and fire combo fields on the shortbow, and 4 of the abilities that react with each other. I don't know if I want to think about it. I'm too busy with other engineer things, like my kit ability cooldowns. Wouldn't it be better to just make the shortbow a combo driven weapon? Like make each ability do both a combo field and blast finisher? Just sounds less confusing.
  2. I would like the ability to favorite finishers within the finishers panel. Certain themes of finishers are better for certain professions, but I limit myself to only one finisher as I cannot utilize a specific theme with the current randomized option. Favoriting finishers would allow for me to select tech finishers on my engineer, ghosts finishers on a revenant, weapon finishers on a warrior, etc. From what I can tell based on my own speculation, random finishers probably are not a thing because of the concept of limited quantity finishers. Just give people permanent finishers if they have consumable finishers remaining and remove those limited quantity finishers. I would rather have randomized finishers than limited quantity finishers. The concept is only really used during Mad Kings Festival, where it is a nuisance, due to the consumable finishers forcing a switch to the Halloween themed finishers upon consumption.
  3. Going from the characters core or higher for the blending should be fine for most sitting animations, but I do see the issue with the bed chairs. The chairs serve an RP function, along with emotes, so these things shouldn't be oil and water. Since chairs are mounts, they could also solve the issue with things like players not being allowed to /laugh while riding. It is very annoying to need to dismount for stuff like that, even though we see animation blending being used for things like "Scan For Rift" on mounts.
  4. They have the ability to blend animations with seated characters, so I'm not sure why they don't do it. We aren't even allowed to see the chat log text for the emotes! The emotes are straight up disabled while mounted, just like how we can't emote while moving. They should probably adjust the emote restrictions to broaden to what extent these things work.
  5. Masteries get disabled in WvW, with rank abilities getting enabled. This is actually quite normal. What is abnormal is that an exception was made for the jade bot recycler and scavanger upgrades. Usually they make us spend additional rank points to get benefits similar to what is found inside of the mastery system.
  6. Personally, I think they should go back and theme some of these pistol and rifle projectiles better. There are dredge sound-based weapons firing bullets instead of sonic waves. There are other energy weapons not firing things like electricity, even though they have no barrels. These types of projectiles for already exist within the game files and are utilized by NPCs or the engineer mainhand pistol. I think people avoid using these weapon skins, because of how the weapon theme and projectile theme don't match. The 'Concealed Jade Tech Pistol' is a jade-based energy weapon. It should fire jade energy projectiles.
  7. I don't think so. The listing fee will probably make it so people run in the red if they do that. The reason these are so cheap is actually because of the Integrated Fractal Matrix bottleneck. Nobody needs +1s if they need to first farm Fractal Relics to get the +5 stat infusions. They should start by trying to reduce the costs of those Integrated Fractal Matrixes. It's easier to load a character with the cringe special effect infusions than it is to give them these infusions with no special effects! On top of this, us WvW players who don't do fractals that often can just settle with the +5 stat WvW infusions. If they make the fractal infusions desirable over the WvW ones, the +1 agony resistance infusions will sell better. Edit 1: It costs 768 +1s per +5 stat & +9 agony resistance infusion. That's a lot per character! A person with a lot of characters would probably drain those things out of the system, if they were an affordable option. Edit 2: It looks like there is a way to exchange +1 into +9, but you can't do instant sell for a profit. You need to post them and hope that nobody does the math. Why aren't people doing the math?
  8. This is true. Just make sure that you clarify that you don't know what you're doing and people will try to unify the group composition. If you lack a healer or something, people discuss it out. If you fail an attempt, people make adjustments until you succeed. It's not like they are willing to start their own party, you know? They'll even carry you to the boss kill if it means that they have a group that can make it there.
  9. I agree with this approach to things in video games and online forums. It might not make it a high priority suggestion, but wanting something is enough reason to have this. Desire is why games like Guild Wars 2 exist. We don't need it, but we want it.
  10. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) My offensive jokes must be contained. I am zen. Don't say "Add a slider."
  11. I don't know why, but for some reason these paper bags make me want to equip a character with a wife beater shirt and some blue jeans. It's the same kind of feeling that I get when I wear the Celebration Cap. I can't explain it.
  12. The general game sites like to cover the games that trend on search engines and social media. It's hard to get people talking about things like farming rifts. Even a small update can get noticed if it is interesting enough.
  13. Eye color is usually only visible on the character portrait of certain races, sexes, and faces. Female charr, asura, and sylvari with wide eyes. Everyone else is like a pixel of color. It's a problem even on the biggest UI scale setting. I'd say that this assessment is accurate for most characters, given how many human and norn characters there are. That said, there is a live case that you can notice heterochromia in a character portrait.
  14. I wish I could use a different glider and mount skins per equipment slot. I love technology based gliders! However, I can only use one. The jetpack is really cool on engineers, especially if you use Rocket Boots and the flames from the backpack fly out. I would love to use this glider skin on another transmog set!
  15. We have things like angel wings and dragon horns. The chuunibyous still need that heterochromia for their evil eyes! They can kind of do it with certain infusions, but they must always be able to go deeper.
  16. You might be able to stream from your PC to your phone. Some of the more recent graphics cards come with software that allow for it, as long as you are connected to the same network as the PC and have the associated phone app. There may also be other software for it. That said, I wouldn't do it. I know that people were using such software for things like keeping their accounts from going AFK in things like Classic World of Warcraft. You'd need to keep the PC powered on the whole time you are away from it, so it's hard to keep things practical on a daily basis.
  17. That's not a bad point. It should be taken into account. However, it might be simple to address in code. Basically an if-statement inside a function that probably already exists somewhere. Pseudo code like: RewardMadeAvailable() { MakeWizardVaultIconShiny(); if (AstralAcclaimRewardValue + CurrentAstralAcclaimAmount <= MaxAstralAcclaimAmount) { CollectReward(); } } However, I do think us needing to click on things does provide a benefit. It's easier to see our current astral acclaim vs. the max astral acclaim if we are always opening up that user interface for it. I wonder if I would get lazy and forget to claim rewards? I guess it could be handled via in game chat warnings and such. Like send a chat message "Astral acclaim maxed out."
  18. Yeah, it's definitely an outdated reason. Us engineers can do things like a Photon Blitz with our combo fields now, but the inconsistency of the rules is what made it outdated long before elite specializations. Thieves got smoke fields and lots of combo finishers for example. It leaves people kind of lost on the reason.
  19. Basic emotes would be emotes that NPCs could use often in the story and that players would use more frequently. They are easy to match with social interactions. The newest emotes we've obtained are hard to match up with events that players encounter. I feel that we might need to suggest some basic emote ideas to add some direction. /clap @ - Gives a round of applause. Adds some variation to moments of cheering. /clapplus @ - Non-stop clapping loop for moments that deserve a long applause. /saluteplus @ - Loops the existing midsection of the /salute animation. /salute is too short. /pushups - Gets down and does some pushups. Good for training grounds with NPCs, like how the /stretch emote is handled. Loops to make it easier to use for NPCs. /jeer @ - We can /cheer, but we can't boo. Closest thing is to /facepalm or /no. /kiss @ - Blows a kiss at the target. There aren't any emotes for romance in GW2. /beg @ - Gets down on both knees to beg. Good for moments of desperation. /shy @ - Becomes bashful towards the target. Good for responding towards a compliment. /yawn @ - Just because you are tired doesn't mean you /sleep. Some variety towards being sleepy.
  20. They probably should add it to the lounge pass portal UI. I suppose they should also make a tome of the scrolls for player hubs. Keep in mind that they still don't have a tome for the capital city scrolls!
  21. The strangest thing is that they have the ability to balance things around PvE/PvP/WvW, yet they don't seem to mind turrets exploding after coming into contact with an AoE attack or dying before they do their overcharge effect upon spawning in competitive environments.
  22. I know it's a little late for me to notice this now, but do I see daggers on the boots of this too? I think I might be getting the 3/6 thing wrong. It might be 4/6? I think that little spike on the shoes could be a dagger handle. Maybe I was too light on my views of there being too many daggers on this set? That's a lot of daggers.
  23. It's somewhat that, but this armor in particular is a little more extreme for a case of theme. I'll go over my points. This is a legendary armor set: Unlike other armor sets, this set is something that is meant to be desired by all members of their respective armor class. It is trying to be expensive and desired by players to drain materials out of the economy. This armor moves against that! You don't want things that specifically target one profession to be a legendary armor theme, at least not until there are legendary armor sets with availability like how legendary weapons are obtained. The number of daggered pieces: The gloves have dagger handles sticking out of the sleeves. There are daggers on the pants and chest pieces. Usually they don't go this far in a single set! It's probably the armor with the most daggers on the set as a whole in the game. I'm pretty sure it has more daggers than the Order of Whispers set, which coincidentally has daggers on pieces that this armor doesn't. What is left after you remove all of the dagger pieces from this set? You've got the head, boots, and shoulders. If it were just the chest or legs, I wouldn't have bat an eye. I actually love to mix and match armors! It's hard to do this when too many pieces end up being tainted by a mismatching theme. I'm actually thankful: I get that I was being playful in the OP. It's not a serious topic. I'm actually thankful, though. Legendaries cost a lot of materials, gold, and time to craft! I've already got legendary armor for the utility aspect of it. It's basically just the skins that I wanted. I wanted to express my thanks for the savings in a fun way! Exotics and ascended pieces tend to match engineers just fine! It's actually pretty cost effective.
  24. In the early stages of the game this made sense. "Poison Dart Volley" on the engineer has poison and other rapid fire abilities on other professions, such "Unload" on the thief or "Rapid Fire" on the ranger, were not granted anything like might or vulnerability at the time. I think it's time to review projectile combo finishers on the engineer's main hand pistol skills. It feels like an oversight that is easy to skim over, since projectiles finishers are chance based.
  25. Since we can have 2 of the same legendary rings, I don't have an issue with additional cosmetic options. Something to note is that raids/strikes don't have a legendary back item, fractals don't have a legendary ring, and PvP (not WvW) doesn't have a legendary ring. We also have as many legendary amulets as we do legendary rings, but most people just take the world PvE legendary amulet, since people like to avoid the PvP game mode. World PvE hogs all of the accessory slots. That said, infusions tend to be better than legendary effects on trinket slots. The reason is because you can choose which gear sets in your gear templates use the infusions! The show toggle option is universal across all gear templates.
