  1. I was going to say something similar...Unsupported necro is next to useless against a team that can focus. That is just not true... necro obviously was wrecking everyone too hard in some cases the whole team would die in a 1v5 because of op reapers due to them having way too much survival coming from soul eater! Nerf the reaper it's too much damage and way too much sustain - just ask Anet they will confirm this.... My mind was full of what while reading this. Then I read it again and started to think you be crazy.. Had a few more sips of my morning coffee..... AHA! It was sarcasm!Hahaha indeed! Have a great morning further buddy xD
  2. Outside of adding a 1s global cooldown between shade skills I actually can't imagine any nerfs necromancer specifically needs. It's exceptionally strong in the right circumstances but also very limited in it's role and what it can do with a very specific niche. That's how every build should be. But every build is not like that, which puts necro (albeit) in the right spot also at a disadvantage. Therefore either buff necro to the level of other builds (Jack of all trades, being able to damage heal and evade everything all the time while farting out more buffs per second than is possible to count) or nerf every other build onto par with necro to get them into their required niche But instead Anet decided to take the most balanced profession of all, beat it with the need bad and buff everyone else -.-

  4. I don't know why people complain so much about spin to win, there are alot of classes hitting alot harder from alot further away and even some from stealth!
  5. It's a PvE change. In PvE the mobs just stand there and eat your damage, and even if they move a bit reaper has enough cleave to easily multi-hit them. The trait made it so you were much harder to kill. This is on a spec that was already harder to die with than other DPS specs in PvE without soul eater. It does suck a little for competitive modes but the truth is that it barely did anything there anyway. If you get any significant healing from this it means that you would have won the fight anyway. Even as a pve change, it's a not needed nerf. You have to have full 25 stacks of might 100% crit and all other damage modifier as well as cleaving maximum number of mobs just for it to keep you topped up but was never too much sustain. Against single targets it's a super weak trait It suits the theme to be able to heal in shroud and also makes playing it fun: you take damage from your health bar to gain LF and then go into shroud to deal damage and gain back your health, as your LF depletes. It's a balancing trick of micro managing your health vs force. It was a super cool mechanic and not over powered at all.
  6. They have game metrics. 10 players going to the forums or community sites saying "I fell like I'm squishier than I should be" can't have more weight than metrics clearly indicating they die less and lose less health on average than what they intended for the spec. Every skill you take. Every move you make. Every boon you get. Every step you take. They'll be watching you. Just so I understand what you're saying. You don't see Necros focused first and the easiest to zerg since they have no scaling defenses like blocks, evades, immunities??? You think they AREN'T easy to kill up close by warriors, revs, and guardians who wear heavy armor and have tons of cc? You don't see them picked off at range by rangers and mesmers with almost no gap closers? You believe that because Anet has "metrics" that they can't make mistakes in patches, and, thus all the changes they proposed in this patch and past patches have been correct???This!
  7. I recon soul eater should be: Only heals in shroud.Increase heal to 10% and only receive healing from damage to current target.Keep damage modifier the same. That would keep sustain but tone it down a bit
  8. I honestly don't know what they based the decision on that reapers survivability was too high with soul eater healing in shroud. It's the squishiest class of all the melee professions and common knowledge to focus it first as an easy kill! Seriously wtf
  9. The matchmaking system isn't for the classes or class matchups though, you're talking about matchmaking but that's for the account level matchmaking based on the "rating" (even though in this population it's heavily mixed). I could be wrong here though, and anyways, if people are doing this to "bypass" matchmaking algorithms in some way, I promise most are just using this ability to swap for class matchup situationals than abusing something. Most people just win trade to get ahead in ranked so it's more blatant than you think and even then that's such a small percentage that it's irrelevant anyway. A solution would be character selection DURING the prep phase after matchmaking has occurred and people have "locked in" their characters similar to LoL , but this presents so many more problems outside of just the matchmaking and char selection (is the char even rdy for pvp with runes, amulet, etc). It's actually encouraged to be able to swap , because usually people who swap are people who actually know the class matchups... It's not a luck game as someone has stated, and while it's RNG at this point given the population in terms of matchmaking, to be stuck being RNG'd into a counter comp on TOP OF a low population and being RNG queued against people who may be a massively higher division than you already? No, swapping before the match starts is a good thing and I encourage it so people actually understand what classes best other classes. This isn't a game of just being RNG paired with somebody and deal with it, you need to know what you can kill and can't and adjust based on within the timer window before the match starts. Either way, there has to be some way to adjust prior to a match... I'm sorry but that is only healthy for the PvP game prep phase as it currently as a whole and removing it puts you behind 2 RNG pigeonholes and greatly reduces the QoL especially as you get towards the top end of the divisions and you start playing better players more consistently. You could also make it one step easier: only let players que in ranked games with a meta profession (soul beast, spell breaker holo, rev, scourge and mirrage) that will take all the need for RNG out as well as not needing to character swop...
  10. When and how did the community vote for this? I am pretty sure i wasnt included in this vote
  11. The thread is about switching professions at the beginning of the match - not about being hard locked into your specialisation or build. I agree with the original poster, you must play with what you que with, but can change your build before the match starts
  12. I sometimes wonder if the 50% damage reduction in shroud even works or it just decides to bug out and do nothing. I totally agree - I don't see or feel any difference at all weather I am in shroud or not. The damage I take is defanitly not halved
  13. There is a stat that does this already, it's called weaknessThis is called debuff What's your point? It does the same thing you were saying needs to be added
  14. I was going to say something similar...Unsupported necro is next to useless against a team that can focus. Unsupported against the whole enemy team, yes! No class is supposed to take on the whole enemy team by themselves. 1v1 and 1v2 necro is really strong and has plenty of self sustain. No other class has the same amount of damage/tankiness/cc combined. All other classes have to give up something. I have stopped playing some classes all together because it's no point vs this "meta". You can't do kitten basically.. Try play, for instance a warrior, against double scourge and/or a reaper. I rather play solo against 5 mesmers kitten. Necro is the first thing they need to look at when swinging the nerf bat. This is just silly at this point. Do you even scrapper, FB or warrior bro?
  15. There is a stat that does this already, it's called weakness
  16. Sorry but I bought the game and the expansion.... I have paid already which is why I expect balance
  17. Had an important phone call, was in an unranked game, so I answered it. Stopped moving for 30 seconds and got accused of match manipulation. Manipulating with whom? The person who called me who has never heard of the game? This guy is correct, match manipulation only occurs at the very top of the leader board. Match manipulation is when someone pays someone on the opposing team to throw the game. There's a hundred reasons why someone might stop responding during a match. Maybe someone other than a Jehovah witness was knocking on the door, maybe the neighborhood stray cat got ran over by a dump truck, maybe it was the Publishers Clearing House in which case they're probably already on a boat in the Bahama's so good luck. Most of the time it's a reason other than match manipulation--especially if you're in plat 2 or below or unranked. I guess I must be a top player then. @"bluri.2653" Coincidentally enough, directly after our interaction today I had gone to do a few placement matches for season 17. I immediately was reminded why I told myself last season, that I wasn't going to play season 17. Check out what happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vlenkRR0dQ And where is the wintrade? I'm sorry but whenever bad players (and judging by that gameplay you are one) lose like 3games in a row, they go to the forums and start posting threads about match manipulation or how bad the matchmaking is... Spoiler Alert guys: you are just too bad to carry, live with it or dont, but i'd say for most cases here its the truth :(Sorry but you get bad players, and then you get idiots that join a game and sit at the spawn.... this is happening super often in gold and plat. It may not be win trading but it sure is manipulating the outcome of the game for everyone else in that game that did want a decent match
  18. I can tell you my experience. My firends and I are plat2 and have ralentless legend tittle. We had a match with "bronze" player. Why do we know he is a bronze player? Because we carried that match really hardly. After we won that match, we only got 6~7 rating, and that bronze player said "I finially get into silver because I get 35 rating!!!!" I must be carrying pretty hard then cause I am gold level 2, I only solo Q, and I average on getting about 9 points per win vs 18 points per loss :/ How are you expected to progress when you need a 66% win ratio to just stand still!
  19. I can see that but it's somewhat interesting to see that they get high ranks (obviously earned with skills) but maintain them with low rank games and huge blow outs. It's cleverly chosen to play off peak and somehow get into low tiers. Interesting way to say wintrading. Ah so queuing early to get matched up against lower tiers = wintrading? It does sound like a loop hole to manipulate who you fight against Ok so if i decide to queue early = wintrade? Now we limit times when people can q as well? Good to know, when am I allowed to start queuing in the morning to avoid lower tier matches? :)Well I wouldn't call it win-trading, but if you honest to yourself and others reading this, it seems you fully aware of what you are doing and that you make a conscious decision to que at these time to intently beat the match making system and face lower ranked players where you have a higher probability of winning rather then face players on your same level and only have 50/50 win chance. That does sound a lot like match manipulation to me, however if the population is so low what can you do right? Anyways in a bit of time when even more people leave because of higher ranked guys consistently poping up in lower ranked games as the population declines, I think this will just speed up the process of the game failing completely and will probably shut down. So there's no point in calling you out, the game is past the point of return so why bother

  21. ^this Also, it is a risky choice in some cases. Some teammates can ninja resurrect allies, and turn around a fight. On the other hand you can use the downed player as bait for a would-be resser to get wreckt as well!
  22. I would like to have a 10 player death match. No nodes and no teams, just kill and be killed. The rules will be easy: death = -1 point. Getting a kill = +1 point. The match times out at 7 minutes with the player on the highest points winning, or the first player to reach 25 points within the allocated 7 minutes.
  23. This is a good idea, it just needs tweaking. For example, in downed state you are immune to all Condi damage and when out of combat self bandage is 100% faster. This will mean the enemy has to either cleave you down, or stomp you. No more bleeding out cause you will rezz yourself if the enemy leaves you alone. However back to original post, if you not downed on point and there are no team mates around to save you, why would you go about wasting time interrupting a stomp that gets you back in the game quicker?
  24. I saw some discussions about your ethical responsibility to try by all means to ress a downed team mate and interupt the enemy stomp. I agree with this. However in a 1v1 when you get downed. Why interrupt the player stomping you? I always try to stomp a 1v1 as a sign of respect to the enemy to finish him quickly and get him back in the game, as leaving him to bleed out slowly is unethical to me and makes a toxic atmosphere. However I get super irritated when I am trying to stomp the downed player to help him re-spawn quicker, and he interupts me. I mean he is only wasting his own time, so I teach him a lesson by dotting him up and walk away.... How do others see this, or should we just remove the downed state from SPvP? Why interrupt a person helping you!? Even if it's the enemy you can still show sone respect
  25. I have 3 wishes for necro: While in combat shroud does not de-generate - it only de-generates out of combat Dagger 1 becomes a ranged attack of 900 or so (like throwing daggers). Confirm that shroud really does reduce damage by 50%. (Seriously, in PvP it feels like there is no difference between the amount of damage i take in or out of Shroud)
